Hi, I am using the fullscreen rows in the latest version and have put the anchors in the header menu as well as a couple of links to other pages. The anchor links are all highlighted as the active link on this page.
1. Is it possible to get just the current section anchor highlighted? 2. How do I customise the link colours for both light and dark navs?

1. Anchor links can’t get the active class for full page rows as of now, if you need to show the active row name you’ll have to use the tooltips
2. This can be set in your Salient options panel > header navigation > transparency tab

2. Sorry I didn’t explain that very well. Basically I would like the active link to be one colour and the rest to be a different one. At the moment the active link is a solid colour and the rest are slightly faded. For example if the starting text colour is white on the transparent menu I want the white to be a solid white and the active page link purple and if the dark text colour is purple I want the active link black. Does that make sense? Is this just custom CSS?

Hi, I’ve updated to the latest version of your theme and none of my pages will load. Everything in the backend looks fine, when when I try to view anything on the site – pages, posts, portfolio – I just get the little pageloader turning around and around without anything actually loading. I’ve tried switching off animated page transitions in the theme options, and switching from ajax to standard, but this doesn’t have any effect. I downloaded the latest version of the theme yesterday and I’ve tried disabling my plugins to see if that is the problem too. Is this a know issue and, if so, how do I fix it?

It looks like you don’t have Salient Visual Composer active – can you verify you have it installed and activated? You can install from Appearence > Install plugins and active in the Plugins tab in your WP admin area

How are images like http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-app/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/letssee.jpg soo compressed? I mean such huge images are less than 100kb. Which image compressing software are you using?

Hey KrystalDesigns! Using photoshop – however you can use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/ The reason those images are small in size is be because they’re mostly one color. Large images that have little pixel data will still be pretty small

Okay – so I’ve been working hard to get my layouts to work in IE, FireFox, and Chrome but for some reason the background video here: http://shapechange.org/RodneyRich/#Welcome will only work in Chrome or some random times in firefox and IE. Is this a known issue of the video backgrounds not loading correctly? I have both mp4 and webM versions…
Also, it appears the ken burns effect works in IE but has this wierd jitter to it. I’m turning it off for now. ANy ideas on this too?

1. Have you ran your videos through the converters listed in the theme documentation?
2. Older versions of IE are not good as good at processing css transforms, however Edge will perform the same as Chrome/FF, will note to look for a work around

This looks like a great theme – great job and good luck with your sales – I notice you have customised visual composer does this mean you have removed some of the standard vc elements or have you added your own – I ask as I had a client who used a theme that had a modified VC and would not work with other addons and created its own shortcodes so was a nightmare to move to another vc theme.
I think its great that dev’s add to the plugin by why remove the core elements ? why not just add more
Thanks saunders-solutions, Salient already had some of the elements of VC before VC got integrated so we opted to keep our own versions as to not force upgrading users to have to recode their sites
The Salient VC is indeed up to date with the current VC version so it should work with addons, however there could be styling conflicts with some depending on what elements they’re adding

Ahhh… Is there a solution for this? I got my layouts as I wanted them with correct spacing then went to firefox – its all smashed together!? Is there any way to prevent things being so much bigger in Firefox? Does it for the demos as well… I’m using full HD screen and at 100% in Chrome vs Firefox there is a big difference.

Hello…. It didnt fix it? I wiped the cache etc… and the gap is still there.
I didn’t know you were actually adding it into a new VC row, in order to fix this you’ll need to change the row type holding the JS block into a full width background

The VC element would still be the best way, I just didn’t know you were using that – since you have been doing custom development I assumed you may have added it in another way

Is it possible to individually tailor the gradients with CSS? In case the two gradient presets are not enough.
I had a quick attempt, although the start and hover classes confused me a bit. I managed to change the border edge gradient manually with CSS, but not the text inside. Any tips would be greatly appreciated on which classes to target. Thanks again!

Oops, that wasn’t quite right. Here they are again, working. Added a Mozilla rule, separated the after from the start rules, and added !important to the start rules. As it turns out, I didn’t need to add any text-fill-color rules.
