Hey! I just checked out the three new demos you have after the 7.5 release. They are completely amazing! You have raised the already high bar even higher!
I want to use some of the new features it looks like you have on an existing site I built earlier this year using your theme. I’m curious to know what the feature is called that inserts the “more info” tags over an image like you have used in the demo here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-product/#features
Also, please share any resource you know of explaining how to import a demo site into wordpress (that’s really the best way for me to learn how it works and I’m a bit rusty with that process). Can I import a demo site onto the existing site that I have (and just not link to any of the pages – only so I can see the new features on the back-end) or does it need to be a totally new site?
Looking forward to enhancing my site with that feature!

1. That feature is called the hotspot element and it’s available in visual composer – just make sure you’re using a current version of the Salient VC (4.12)
2. Salient 7.0+ has a demo importer tab in the Salient options panel 
However it will overwrite your theme options, therefore before doing it at least make to back up your current settings. Alternatively if you’re trying to import pages on a setup and don’t want to import the options settings as well, you could just import the xml file which are located in salient/nectar/redux-framework/extensions/wbc_importer

1 follow up: How do I update the Salient Visual Composer? Unfortunately when I look at all my plugins I see some others that have an “update” link, but I see Salient VC is on V4.7 and the “update now” link at the bottom of the row is missing (see screenshot).
2A follow up: How do I back up the current theme settings? I want to be able to update my salient theme to the newest available, but I’m afraid about losing all the pages/styling I have already built on my site.
2B follow up: Could you please tell me where to locate the link you passed along (salient/nectar/redux-framework/extensions/wbc_importer)? I’m trying to import via xml file just a few pages because I want to see the behind the scenes on the demo so I can make similar designs, but I’m afraid of losing all the work/existing pages I’ve already created.

1. Have you tried to uninstall/delete your current version of the Salient Visual Composer plugin and then reinstall from the appearance > install plugins tab of your admin panel?
2. Click “Copy data” in the import/export tab of your Salient options panel http://imgur.com/a/cZH7y and save that in a text file somewhere you desire
3.The path listed in there is still accurate – the beginning of it, i.e. “salient/”, is the root of the theme

I’m trying to update the theme now using the Envato Wordpress Toolkit, but when I’m about to confirm the update it’s telling me that I’ll lose any customizations I’ve made (see image: http://imgur.com/a/CptBf) – what customizations is it talking about? Obviously I want to make sure I don’t lose all my work to date!!! Thanks so much for the help.

It’s referring to if you’ve edited the theme files directly – as long as you haven’t then nothing will be lost All theme options/site content will persist

Another issue:
When adding a nectar button inside a modal window, and the modal is activated – the button briefly appears on the page before opening the modal and displaying the modal content and button.
(Services page > Addons block > Self-Hosted Analytics)
It’s in exactly the same place on screen as it is in the modal, but displays by itself before opening the modal.
Also, mousing over the button causes the modal text to blur slightly.

Love the theme, but my header isn’t designed to work in a responsive layout. How do I make mobile display a different header image?

Okay, I’ll have a developer take a look. Another bug I’m having is a padding issue on some buttons. In Firefox, the padding isn’t recognized, so the boxes are only as high as my text. In Chrome & Safari, they look great.

Ah, Yoast, of course! Duh, thank you. Also, my developer was able to fix the Firefox padding issue. Apparently it didn’t like “5%” so we got rid of the percentage sign and changed it to pixels. Worked like a charm.

Since the theme doesn’t support any animation on single page websites can you assist with having a static fixed background and a transparent transition to other pages and I’ll create all seperate physical pages. This would achieve a close-enough effect.
So the background is always visible and the new pages content only comes into view, with no abrupt colour as the change. Not sure if this is clear?

The theme does support animations on single pages, fullscreen pages and regular pages as the demos show – please share a URL where the animated elements you have active are not animating when scrolled into view so I can take a look

All of your columns which have animations set are showing once scrolled to on that page – the one that won’t work with the full page row setup is the “animation block” element, this is not a Salient Visual Composer element and therefore can not react to the Salient specific feature full screen rows. Just set the animation on a Salient VC item (i.e. a column) http://imgur.com/a/2clDw and it will work

Hello. Thanks for your response to my previous comment about the Nectar slider images blurring. I increased px of the image to 1400 and it looks great!! Still struggling to get just a few more things right though

2. The colors can be set in the Salient options panel > header navigation > general tab by selecting “Custom” for the “Header Color Scheme”. The size can be set in the Typography options tab with the “Off Canvas Navigation” field
3. From looking at the code on your page it appears you’ve wrapped them in “strong” tags instead of an “h4” like your others. When editing your element, switch into the text tab on the editor to change them back to h4s

Not sure if you saw my other concern from my previous post about my home page nectar slider having something lodged underneath it?
There’s a black space at the bottom which is making the button in the nectar slider stuck. Also, when you scroll down passed it it makes this white flash before going to the next section. I don’t see anything in VC that is causing this.
Any idea what that is and how I can fix it?

On your next theme update can you work on the W3 Validation? For the home page alone there are currently 16 errors. I understand that for modern web you will have a few errors that without it is impossible to get the look or functionality you want. However, looking at the report here I see that most of these are easy to fix. For example you are using the row ID 2 times, which is allowed only once per page. Can you consider fixing these on for the next update please?

I accidently dragged the page header settings in a post above the visual composer and refreshed the site without saving. After that everything was blank without any styling. Console gives me the following errors all over the Backend:

Changing the Theme and deactivating all Plugins doesnt help. It looks like no scripts and styles are loaded, just pure html output. Any Idea how to fix that?

I’m still having issues with the thumbnails being different sizes on my shop page.
If you look at the Vinyl sticker thumbnail that I have in one row, the thumbnail is huge and pixelated. ideally I’d like them to all be the same size like they are in my mixed media row.
•Is there a line of code that will make each thumbnail a certain size (300×300 ideally).
It seems each row has a different size and I don’t know how to remedy this so that they’re all uniform.
•Also on my home page under the top nectar slider there seems to be a black space below the parallax right above the portfolio section that appeared out of no where.
There’s nothing in VC that show’s anything between those 2 rows and was wonder what is causing that glitch and how to fix it?

Did you see my response to your last comment in regards to the shop image sizing? You can set your own custom image size in the WooCommerce admin panel > products > display > catalog images, you would then need to run this to regenerate your thumbnails https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

Hi I just want to know why there is no comment link/button under the standard blog; there is no comment box under the post ( which shows the comments people did and making a new comment box… Thank you i have friends that have the full view of post with standard and have a comment button so people can connect. I gave you stuckincustoms link as an example. I would love to have a button or a “Comment” link so people can interact with me and others after reading my posts. Again….thank you for an amazing site. I get a lot of compliments from it but I do need more interaction, comments, etc…

Hey guys, I found out via this forum that the “Equal Column height issue in Internet explorer.” exists and that you guys are working on an update… Of course I’m here because I found out the hard way after updating

But perhaps it’s a good idea to add something like a table “known bugs in current release that will be fixed in next release”? That way I can stay safe under the motto ‘if it ain’t broke, don’‘t fix it :-)”
Because I had to update quite some pages which had the ‘equal column height’ ticked… Just an idea, it could save you and us some hassle. Knowledge is power…
