Development+Registration questions:
a) Can we register Avada in multiple development environments? Our team develops in multiple machines. All instances have the same URL (wp.dev) but are different installations of Wordpress.
b) Also we might reinstall WP (eg to test another Avada Demo on a clean installation). Are we allowed to re-register Avada on the same machine?

a) Regarding your product licensing, you have to purchase/own a license for each publicly accessible domain install of the theme. Regardless of whether the installation domain is a sub domain or not, if it is publicly accessible, it requires a license.
If you are migrating to a different domain and you already have your product registered with your original purchase code etc, you do not need to purchase a new license; You can simply add your registered purchase information to the new installation’s product registration tab.

b) Yes, reinstallation can be done and same license can be used on a reinstall without any issues at all

Yes, We bundle Revolution Slider + WP Layer Slider in our theme and they work as intended, however in order to get their premium support you will need to purchase a separate license for them if you want to,

i’m considering buying your Avada theme and i have a question: My client may want a vertical navigation as the main menu (instead of a more common horizontal header). I see that you already have some templates with a vertical menu like Café, Agency, Hotel etc. The question is, if i prefer another of your templates which has a horizontal menu, but would still want the menu to be vertical, 1) is that posible ? 2) is that easily made in the backend, or does it need a php kind of tweak ? 3) in other words, is the usage of a vertical menu independent of the template ? 4) a more general question: am i obliged to use a template ?

Hello, my colleague purchased another avada license a while back from another site then this. now we try to update the theme to version 5.0 but there is no notification or anything. I cannot register the product because it must be registered with a theme forest user name. What can I do ?

Avada can only be exclusively purchased via Themeforest, if that is not the case I am afraid that you are at an impasse. The token key must be generated via the original Themeforest account used to purchase Avada

I’ve triggered the manual conversion a number of times, but my posts still have the old code at the top and bottom of the post with no obvious way of removing this. Newly created posts also display this code. How do I rectify this?

Firstly let us clarify, Envato introduced paid support back in September 2015 and we as theme authors had zero control over this unfortunately. In fact, in response we (ThemeFusion) decided to Grandfather in our customers that had purchased Avada prior to the 1st of September 2015, for support for that particular purchase as explained here -> http://bit.ly/1H8JGzo
It is hard to diagnose this without being able to inspect the installation. Triggering the manual conversion does work, if that is not converting your pages then something else is at play
Also check and make sure that when you updated the instructions were followed carefully and that you are on the latest version of Avada, which right now is Avada 5.0.4

I did all that, and have a product registration number under the Product Registration tab on Avada in Dashboard. I’m up to 5.04 which was installed through the wordpress admin. All the patches have been applied.
The single site that i’m creating is rather complex and therefore it has taken longer than 6 months in development. I’ve not submitted any support tickets other than a couple when I first purchased and was not familiar with the theme platform.
The upgrade to Avada 5.xx, though has created an enormous amount of extra work as the migration from your fusion old code to the new code syntax only ever converts your basic page code and does not convert any custom code snippets that are based on the original fusion builder code.
I’ve spent all my time subsequent to the upgrade, converting every single bit of the site that used the old code to the new syntax.
However, the problem as described above is one that I cannot overcome without some assistance from you. Since you initiated the change to a new code, it seems reasonable that you should provide support for these sort of bugs without requiring your clients to pay an extra $42 for support which in practice would probably stretch to resolving a single issue, an example of which I have raised.
I’ve raised a thread on the community forum and searched other threads which may contain the same or similar issues. The only one I found was when searching under “old code”, which, whilst promising, did not solve my issue.
So, how would you suggest I proceed?

I checked your username on our site and you do not unfortunately fall under our GrandFather plan. Which as we stated earlier, was all we could do to help previous users, once the new one was in place by Envato, we have to follow it.

We are about to launch a site, but there are still few minor things we would like to change before we go live.

This will largely depend on the content on your page and your configuration. Custom CSS is not needed, both containers and most eleents have a bottom margin or padding option that you can use.
Yo can also use the “separator” element with a negative value to reduce the gap. But I’d prefer to fix it from where it is coming from, which we’d need to see your site setup.
To do that, you can submit a ticket to our team who will inspect it and let you know where teh gap is coming from (columns inside your container possibly, or elements inside the container, or the container itself maybe)
Based off your screenshot, it appears to be bottom margin on the columns. Edit the columns in that containers and look for bottom margin, set it to 0px. You need to set it for both or all columns in that row. You can also set it globally in theme options > layout tab, but then it will affect all columns which you probably do not want.

Nope, not at all as all your content and theme options are saved inside your database and theme files are placed inside your wp-content folder, both are entirely different however it is recommended that you always create a backup of your theme options and content before updating just to be 100% SAFE.

Hello there,
I’ve been in search for a solution to make blog post in grid, Text block to fixed height rather depends on how much text within the block to keep the layout clean organised look.
There used to be some CSS that sort of took care of before the update, but those CSS seems does not work unless add some code, but it is way over my head…
Is there any place on avada site that has those information how to make those containers display at same/fixed height? or any future plan to add this function as part of theme option??? so many people are searching the answer for the same similar issue that it is obvious to add the function rather than adding CSS?
Anyway, it would be great if you could guide to be the right direction to solve the height issue.

The height actually depends on the amount of excerpt and the title of your post, you can control the excerpt amount from blog shortcode and theme options however if each article have difference in title the height will not be same, in this case a simple custom CSS can be used to assign a minimum height to the grid items.

Hi again Ammar Thank you very much for your quick response.
I didn’t want to trouble your support team with me submitting tickets for those little tweaks questions as I have many of those and will have more… So I thought I could ask on here and also your forums to get some solutions.
Those Custom CSS, I’ve seen some for previous version and the new update seems like not working as just copy and paste them to the custom css section.

It makes no sense not to automate the patches in the support area of the theme. There is no “undo” patch so why make us click all the patches when it could be done with a script. At a minimum you should send an email or have an admin bar notification that there are undone patches. The Admin bar would be cool.

Actually there is a good reason for that. They must be applied in the order they are created due to the fact that many of the files are the same. So they have to be applied in order, or it would not work.
In addition, keep in mind every server is different! Having them as individual patches makes it much less likely to run into issues of users not being able to apply patches due to their specific server configuration from their host.
We’re currently talking about a “apply all” button that will apply them all, but we’ve not finished discussion on this. Also, this is something we have created and is not seen in other themes. It’s a great way for us to release quick fixes instead of releasing a full theme update.
