Hi! I purchased the Bridge theme and I have two questions about:
1. I´m not a Wordpress pro and still learning 
So i don´t want to change the code of the theme, what happens in case of an Theme update when I don´t use a Child Theme? I want to use a demo page and edit it with the options that are included in the theme (no coding) – is it possible to update the theme without losing the changes?
Or is it necessary to use a child theme to update the theme? I couldn´t find something about install and use of a child theme in the documentation.
2. Question: I want to use the WPSEO Plugin (https://wpseo.de), it is very common in Germany (it is NOT the YOAST SEO Plugin) is it possible to use this Plugin?

1. Child theme is only required if you want to change core files, and since you do not plan changing them, you don’t have to use child theme. More about child themes can be found on WP Codex https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Theme is tested with Yoast seo which is supported. WPSEO is not tested by the theme and you should try it by yourself, but we don’t see what may be causing issues, and we think that you should be able to use it without problems.

We didn’t test that plugin so we can’t tell you much but as we can see from what is showcased on the plugins page, there shouldn’t have any problems using it. Only issue which may arise is with if there is conflict with plugin ajax and our ajax page transitions, but you can disbale page transitions from Qode options > General.

I modified the CSS to transform the portfolio elements (shortcode portfolio-list) with a polygonal shape, with the property ‘clip-path’, and I shifted some elements on the right with the CSS property nth-child (10n + 1) to have a perfect rendering. The problem is that with the use of the JS filter, when the elements are rearranged, the offset elements remain staggered. Example: http://bakelite.alexionoff.fr/projets/ when you click on the “exterior” filter.
Is there a way to fix this, maybe in JS?

Script is responsible for showing / hiding prtfolio elements, but spacing is caused by your code http://www.screencast.com/t/SvumLtKA . Using advanced css selectors is great but in enviroment where you cannot know how many elements will be there, or when number of items my easily be changed you shouldn’t use them or you will have to modify css code often.

Yes I know it’s caused by my code, but I thought maybe there is a way to restart to zero the (10n + 1) each time script display or not elements… If it’s not possible at all I will find an other solution

Authour field is for author name, and name is the same in all languages so it is not allowed to be translated. If you want to change this you should set translate to that field within theme folder / wpml-config.xml file. This a great and well made/designed theme, but it can get very confusing in the documentation because the instructions are generalized for all 200 themes, i guess this comes with territory it would be too much to get customized instructions for each one. Just want to comment if anyone is planning on using the shop versions of demo content, the documentation does not mention you must first install woocommerce plug in before you import. I spent 4 hours running an import demo and it was freezing at 50%, then I had to reset my database as they tell you to before you run multiple demo installs, then it would freeze again, then I tried to just re-install demo content over the half installed one and it would work but then you end up with malfunctions and double menus. Finally i discovered woocommerce was needed because I saw how to customize woocommerce settings in the documentation and realized developer must of forgot to mention to install it on the required plug ins because it is not bundled in the theme. Hope this helps and saves someone time, good luck!

Bridge theme is single piece of software, and 200+ demos represent content, so there is no point in describing how each one is built because functionality is the same and you can import demos from Qode options > Import. Also, in this way you can see which options were used. Regarding demos which contain shop pages (WooCommerce) it is normal that post type have to be present in order to be able to import its content, and this is default WordPress functionality which can be seen when you use WordPress importer, but thank you for the suggestion. Hi, I am a bit frustrated and disappointed in the bridge estate theme. Upon vewing the completed website on mobile device – the layer slider headers, background images and video are not automatically responsive and looks terrible. The fact that the video needs to start playing automatically as this is what the client wants – is great when vewied on a desktop. However it’s totally cut off when veiwed on a mobile device.
I do not want to have to put a picture in place of the video – This is honestly the first theme I have used where everything is not ‘automatically’ responsive. The frustration also comes in with the fact that the entire website looks totally different on mobile – the menus, image behind numbers either blown up or cut off… I’m so disappointed given the amount of time I have spent on the site, the amount of tickets and questions submitted and I have finally competed it and it looks good on the desktop view- to find the mobile view is shocking.
Qode support have been wonderful in terms of responding to tickets however, I am just very disappointed in the end result.

We are sorry to hear that, but this is perfectly normal, because not all mobile devices can playback HTML5 video properly. This is explained within the documentataion and same applies to Layer Sldier plugin http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/8-qode-slider/8-4-creating-a-slide-with-video-background/ . This is simply browser limitation. Regarding background image, it is native css backround-size cover propperty and it will scale the background image to be as large as possible so that the background area is completely covered by the background image, so some parts of the background image may not be in view within the background positioning area. This also applies to almost all backgrounds. In case that you want responsive slider. If you don’t like column stacking on mobile you can disable responsiveness if you want form Qode options > General. Hi, it would be extremely helpful if we could enter pixels OR percent for various fields so that we don’t constantly have to go to CSS to change something that you built into the settings. For instance, I’d like to make the footer padding-left and padding-right a % rather than a pixel. You have preset this to be a pixel value so now I have to go to the CSS to code something that you are allowing to customize. Perhaps write “Padding Right (specify px or %)” and we can figure out the rest. We won’t get confused by the two choices but it will make life so much easier to quickly customize the theme to our liking. This is one thing Avada allows which makes it so easy to perfect the look. Please give us this powerful functionality in future releases! Thanks.

Hi, For some reason, when I search my site in google it still picks up the default tagline in wordpress sites i.e. mydomain | Just another WordPress site… I have removed this tag line from all the obvious places, i.e.on install, appearance customize… I have also seo’d all my pages so the title and description snippet reads correctly. Where else should I look?

It takes some time for google to index and reindex sites, so if it was built on live hosting enviroment its normal that demo content is indexed and now upon finisihing your site, it needs to be crawled by googlebot again. If you just want to switch to regular menu, you can do so from Qode options > Header http://screencast.com/t/938eaOt2c but in case that you want entire demo, it is not vise to import it over existing content and this is explained within the theme documentation http://bridge.qodeinteractive.com/documentation/3-demo-content/3-1-qode-import/
In case that you don’t want to clear existing content it is good practice to install WordPress on your local machine (localhost) and then to try different demos. In this way you can see which options we used and you can reproduce that on your live page.

After migrating to the other domain (newdomain.com instead domain.com) the theme resets all it’s settings. My migrating process looked like copying all files and copying all database, and then replacing all occurrencies of domain.com with newdomain.com. It looks like the theme somehow linked with domain name and after detecting new domain it resets all settings. Is it so? Or maybe there is a safe mechanism to migrate to new domain?

But yes, there is an issue with such replacing. We tried export/import – it mostly helped. Mostly – because looks like everything is back, but footer disappeared. It is not much work to fix though. Thanks for fast reply.

This option does not exist out of the box because browsers on some touch devices do not support fixed positioning, but our support can provide you with css code in order to achieve this. I’m interested in customize the wide menu so it shows 6 columns. I think it can be achieved via CSS.
I was able to change columns width and make my seventh column jump to a new row vía :nth-child(6n+1) pseudo-element, but my 5th element still jumps to a new row, despite that I’m using :nth-child(4n +1) clear: none; What am I missing? How can I achieve this?

So far my experience of creating a website with this theme has been good. But I have run into an issue and I need your help.
For some reason, the entire site looks a lot bigger on some other computers, as if other users had browser zoom enabled on their computer while they actually don’t. I need to ensure that the site looks the same size as I see in my computer. Is there an option to disable this behaviour? Or perhaps some CSS code I can add to the website to prevent this?
I had my suspicion that it was something related to some sort of “retina ready” settings but I looked around for a solution with no luck so far.

Hi Qode, is it possible to have big slider images fading instead sliding? I’d tried in portfolio-loop.php file just below case 3 line, to change |div class=”flexslider”| with this other code |div class=”flexslider” data-flex_fx=”fade”| as you say above but it doesn’t work for me.
