It’ depending on way which you want to walk.
If you want this for your future – I can advice you to learn javascript, then, maybe some frameworks, like node.js, angular.js, react, etc. I think javascript will be the most important language in future
If you want to study wordpress, I can recommend you to use “learn by task”. For example, you have site. Just set your goal with simple task. Try to create simple plugin, simple form, simple etension. Think what can be useful for your site and users, try to create simple, but useful function.
I think, in wordpress development, REST API is very perspective. And again, you need to know basics of javascript, jquery and php for this.

there is no such thing like “best”. I recommend you to start tutorial for each language and you will find which is most interesting for you in first days. Then, you can continue one language. Also, currently, many sites use mix of instruments. Javascript for frontend, php or other for server side

image gallery doesn’t have any width. it uses width of images. Make sure that you have “full” thumbnail size in image options in module

Hi, where do I modify the homepage meta tags, title, description, etc? I am using the Rewise child theme and it seems like the homepage is auto generated. There is no post or page that is associated with it, so I can’t scroll down to the bottom and modify it there. I cannot modify it in the Yoast SEO settings or any plugin. Right now, the homepage meta tags are just taking the meta tags of my latest post. Please advise on how to change the homepage meta tags!

That seems like a lot of work just to change the meta. Is there an easier solution? Can you add it to the theme options in a future update because I can imagine this being a issue with many people in the future?
It’s not issue. It’s how wordpress work. If you don’t have custom home page, wordpress will use default post loop for homepage. This means, that there is no real page for homepage on your site and wordpress will use settings which you set for name of site and description in Settings – general (you can change there)
If you want to control homepage – only custom homepage will help this and it’s not hard to do this. Just several clicks

well, I will add option to show gallery as slider instead of gallery. Please, note, usually, users upload too different images, so, slider can look very bad, this is why I made images as gallery, because in this case, size of images look good even if they are very narrowed, tall, wide, etc

1. I removed it everywhere. The link is not active anymore. But the Avatar and author name have swapped their position after I removed the link from the functions.php. Could you please let me know how I can keep the avatar left aligned and the author name + date next to it.
2. Your are right. I can deactivate Buddypress. By the way is there a way to check if there are active plugins which are not used for the site. I copied the rehub demo site but there are some functions which I don’t use.
