the demos should be compatible. From the error message you’re getting I can tell you’re not doing this right, you were supposed unzip the file you download from the forum, THEN inside you’ll fine the actual file you need to import, it ends with extension *.wpress also you have a “README.txt” file in there for further instructions.

Thank you for your feedback.

The import demo files could be large in size hence I’ve not included them in the theme’s download files, also it would be annoying updating those should an emergency update is required, It’s much easier to keep those files independent of the theme’s main files, this way they can be updated and accessed by users with valid license at any time. Those are just some of the reasons for why I’ve got this setup the way it is. Anyhow, glad you’ve got it sorted it out now.

considering no files have been customized it should be pretty smooth. One thing you’ll need to do after the update is to go to the theme’s Settings page and make sure to Save it, it’s important you do that so all new options be applied properly. I have over 3 different hosting accounts and they all are producing the same issues… instead of presenting the standard VC open and close coding for pages, the page coding is presenting itself div and [content_block] UDesign coding. The VC coding isn’t being generated.

There is clearly something going on with the VC and coding within the demos that is not allowing the demos to render properly.

Please fix your demos or provide the raw page coding so they can be inserted so the pages can be designed minus the place holder blocks.

There appears to be an known issue with the Health Coach demo theme and rather than assisting just that one person with their issue with the demo, an update should be made to assist everyone with the theme.

EVERYONE being theme users who purchased your theme prior to you switching it over to Visual Composer and prior to your team coming up with actual demos for users to design from.

I’m honestly not sure what you’re talking about, what one person?!!.... Also the “HealthCoach” demo isn’t even built with VC plugin, it’s all core theme shortcodes and features…

I don’t see why not. You might want to check with the WooCoomerce documentation on that. Also, if you’re not going to use the shop features then you could simply set up the products as a gallery of sorts. The theme also offers the Essential Grid plugin which is great for that sort of thing.

And videos? Can I upload videos onto a page?

If short videos yes sure, you don’t need a theme for videos, videos are supported by WordPress itself, it’s a core feature. In general if your videos a bigger you should use third party video hosting services like YouTube, Vimeo and others, otherwise you’ll be wasting a lot of resources serving those videos, they are very resource intensive. It’s best to upload your videos to YouTube for example and then just embed the video into your page.

A since purchase/license of the theme you can only use on one website, if you would like to use the theme on another website then you’ll have purchase another license.

in the last update of the theme last week I’ve added some of the theme’s shortcodes as VC elements, so you should be able to use those, of course not all shortcodes make sense to be converted for various reasons, some simply have functionality that VC already offers as its own elements and in other cases like “[dropcap]” shortcode it’s not possible to be implemented technically. So I’ve prioritized the most important and used ones like [content_block], [udesign_recent_post…], and quotes’ ones, I’ll think about what other ones I can add, and in general the VC elements can be quite different than the theme’s shortcode they don’t need to be the same. In the case of the demo, not sure which one you imported, but it might need to be updated to use those new U-Design VC elements that I added, I know the latest demo I released last week “Spa” is using the latest UD-VC elements.
