OK , after some hours I’ve finally figured out how your theme options work.
This is highly unintuitive and it’s not documented anywhere, so I’ll post it here for folks.
If you’re looking to change the archive pages, you need to go to Theme Options > Layout.
There you will see listing for each POST TYPE, and each ARCHIVE TYPE.
If you are looking to edit the individual POST TYPE you need to choose one of the following:
- Post - Page - Portfolio - Author
If you are looking to edit the individual ARCHIVE TYPE you need to choose one of the following:
- Posts - Pages - Portfolios - Authors
This took me ages to figure out and it could have been made entirely intuitive by labelling these as:
- Post Archive - Page Archive - Portfolio Archive - Author Archive
Hope this helps someone. The theme is actually really cool. You guys just need to provide better support documents, and videos that don’t fly by at 100 miles per hour.
Hi Modeca! The Uncode Theme Options follow the hierarchical structure of WordPress. Post singular is the single page while Posts plural refers to the archive pages. About the video tutorials speed you are right, even though these videos serve to unload the Uncode workflow they are very fast (we are not the authors and in the coming months we have planned to remake them).

Thanks for the reply. The theme is very impressive, especially the content builder. However, because it uses a completely different workflow to any other theme I’ve used, I feel you could put some more effort into explaining a typical workflow for page building/category editing and styling etc etc.
A few real-world, step by step examples on Youtube would be a great way not only to help customers, but as a way to really PROMOTE the unique features you have.
For instance, for the site I bought Uncode for, I can now retire several plugins, that create custom content displays, search filtering and styling, because this functionality is now built straight into the theme. This is great news.
I looked at all the premium themes on Themeforest, ElegantThemes, WPMU Dev, StudioPress etc – but even though I didn’t want to go with a Visual Composer based theme, I still decided to go with Uncode because I preferred the feature set and aesthetics. I think I made the right choice.
The only constructive criticism I would add is that you could improve your support resources. There’s quite a learning curve with this theme, and even though I’m a Wordpress veteran I’m spending a lot of time figuring out how Uncode works, and where to find features.
It’s a shame you got rid of your forum, because often it’s the quickest way to find answers, rather than have to wait for a ticket to be answered.
Anyways, that’s my thoughts now. I’m very excited to be rebuilding my site with Uncode.
Hi modeca and sorry fro delay! Yes Uncode is different from the average WordPress themes. We think we have a great and detailed documentation, the “problem” is that it’s very extended and the theme has lot of features and configurable options, anyway as suggested if you have any needs just submit a request to our Support Team so they can take care to explain what you need. Thank you anyway for suggestion, we appreciate that and we know that even if the docs resources can be good for most of users others cannot find intuitive. Hi, I’ve just purchased your theme and I’ve very impressed, but it’s impossible to follow your YouTube videos as they go way too fast to understand the actual workflow of your theme. I want to create a custom archive page for my categories, but I don’t know where to start. Do I use an existing content block, create a new content block? Why are “Post” , “Page”, “Portfolio” , “Search” replicated twice in the Theme Options? What is the best workflow – import your demo content or create new options from scratch? How do I get rid of all the demo content once I’ve created my site? DO I have to keep all of the imported page layouts on my live site or can I deleted them?

As you can read in the docs we don’t suggest to import demo contents on an existing website, at least import Single Layout (only the pages you need). Let us know if you need more infos via Help Center!
Hi, there is the possibility in mobile to have the menu under the logo and centered? I have it now at the right of the logo but i’d like to have it under. I have the center horizontal menu layout on. There is a css code to insert or some option that I didn’t see? This is the website: elenarede.com

Hello I have just purchase unicide.
The domain that we are using for this client is currently live with their existing website so we are using a local host file to develop it.
Unicde is installed on Linode, and we are using local host file to develop it, and test it while their current site is live.

Hi! Yes there is a ticket where you listed some errors. It seems that you have an issue with the Related Posts plugin. If you don’t need the related post functionality you can deactivate the plugin. Otherwise try to re-install, this is a famous WordPress plugin just inserted in the Uncode package for users convenience (it’s not modified). Anyway support team will be back during weekly working days (they not work on Sunday).

Pre-purchase question… can a Instagram plugin be used to display a feed on the homepage? I particularly like the Portfolio Photographer demo, and would like to use that layout if an Instagram plugin can be used to display the portfolio.

I don’t know if you can use this plugin combined with our dynamic grid, generally these plugins create a carousel to be placed at the bottom of the page. You can create this with Uncode but it’s not dynamic feed, natively you can import IG embed (this mean you can insert manually in the Media Library and use as normal images), here you find a simple example “Instagram / Flickr Gallery”: https://undsgn.com/uncode/features/media-gallery/

Thank you for the quick answer, but the video doesn’t see on the Ipad in horizontal mode. In the responsive tab I set invisible the view on the mobile phone and tablet but the Ipad has a resolution > 960px (desktop view) and the video doesn’t work.
iPad even if horizontal is a touch device with the same mobile browser and it’s correct the video doesn’t play, everything is working as expected. Anyway if you need to display an important video background on touch devices a good option can be insert an Icon Box with the video lightbox and display this icon only on touch devices where the video background is replaced by the poster images. Something like the Classic Studio desktop header but only on touch devices. In case you need some advice open a ticket and notify me the ticket ID.
