Has anyone used BeaverBuilder instead of VC with this theme? Does they work well together?

It’s a great builder – and very popular – you should check it out. It generates real HTML rather than shortcodes.
One issue I’ve run into so far is that the nectar slider on homepage gets sucked into a row and displays inside the content rather than fullscreening. My plan to workaround is to remove the nectar shortcode, build out the rest of the page, and then add it in via Text editor. We’ll see how that goes…

However, I haven’t got the nectar slider integrating nicely with BB, and honestly I’m thinking about just going with Visual Composer for ease of use, even though BB is a better builder

Is “Salient 8” different to Salient? In other words if I have the license for Salient, if I download Salient update will it be Salient 8? Or do I have to buy new license?

I recently updated this site to latest version of Wordpress, Salient along with all plugins: http://leannekingwell.com/
I have the WooCommerce outdated templates issue, but I understand that will be fixed soon when the Salient theme is updated shortly.
However I have one more new problem since the update. I am getting the following message in a floating box inside most pages: “Failed to load content css: //fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=”
I tried deleting the VC plugin and reinstalling, just in case that had something to do with it, but it didn’t alter the issue.
Any advice very much appreciated

Great theme Salient !!! I would like to make a request for the next updates: Would it be possible for the .css and .js files to be minimized? When I do speed test always tells me this message. I minimize them. But I have to be minifying them every time an update is made. This would help us a lot to all Salient users. Many thanks.

The theme can’t ship pre-minified because then customizing would be overly hard for users – the correct solution is to use a plugin which minifys the files for you automatically. Please see the documentation in regards http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/performance-optimization-guide/

Try adding this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:
#header-outer.transparent.directional-nav-effect >header#top #logo span.light {
overflow: visible!important;
}
This seems to be occurring from your Nectar Slider instance set to “Directional Based Content Movement” when only using one slide. So If you change that to the alternative style it should fix it as well

In the ‘Page Header Title’ i have a logo instead of text. When the screen size gets smaller, only the width of the logo is adjusted, making it non proportional. How can i edit this? What kind of settings can i give the image so it size is responsive (but in proportion)?

Hey, it seems there’s width/height attributes right on the image tag – you’d need to remove these and set the sizing on the containing div. Or you could try and remove just the height attribute

I have a weird issue, that I hope you’ve come across before…but I’m wary that this might be unique to my custom build.
My site is pretty big. I migrated from an old theme that was no longer maintained to Salient, as I’ve been so impressed with it over the last couple of years, having used it on several other client sites.
The migration was pretty smooth – but I haven’t taken full advantage of VC. With 500 pages of content, I wasn’t about to re-tool every page. I just wanted to migrate quickly to reduce downtime.
However, I’ve started to add some VC elements to top level pages, which look great. The problem is – when I try to add VC elements to child pages, the VC shortcodes don’t get processed, and I just see the shortcodes on the page.
I’m using a child theme, have updated the header/sidebar PHP files since the latest Salient update…so I’m not sure why child pages aren’t processing the VC shortcodes?
I’ve switched the Salient VC plugin on and off…deactivated and deleted it, then reinstalled it, but the issue remains…
