What happened to Cornerstone? It was so much easier to use when you could see the web site and drag over the elements. UGH.

Thank you for writing in and we’re sorry to hear that you seem to be having some issues. Just for your information:
- You do not have to utilize our v2 Elements with advanced controls if you do not wish. The previous Elements (now called “Classic Elements”) are still available at the bottom of the Element list and can be used as needed. We have made this very clear through multiple posts and news updates (referenced below).
- You can still see the website when editing with Cornerstone. Cornerstone is an exclusively front-end editor, so live previewing is a core part of it. If something is going on with your installation after update, please notify our support staff in our forums, as that is where all official support is handled, we will be happy to look into things for you.
- This was a major update to Cornerstone to introduce functionality that a vast contingent of our user-base has been asking for since day 1. For more detailed information on this, I highly recommend reading through our changelog to see our extensive notes on what has changed in this update. We also have been providing detailed updates of our progress with this release in our online forums. You can find more posts with information on this here, here, here, and here.

Sure! You can change the domain at any time. The only restriction is that you can only have one live site per license. If you’re moving a site to another domain that’s perfectly fine. It’s also understandable to have separate testing and development sites without an additional license as they’re not a public facing site. Just keep in mind you can only have one validated development environment (for automatic updates) for each license.

I tried updating the site from 4.3.2 and the majority of the formatting was gone. Do you have incremental updates for people who are at this stage? I need help and am getting nowhere on apex. I posted a help in the forums but it was removed. Just posted again. Appreciate your response.

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear you’re experiencing some issues right now. There is no sort of way to incrementally update from a much older version of the theme. We do have various migration scripts in place if/when we need to change something drastically, but the longer between updates can mean that issues arise from time to time even with these in place.
Regarding formatting going away, this is highly unlikely to happen at all unless you’ve made some sort of customizations to your website. Are you utilizing a child theme with custom styling and or functionality? If so, you may need to check that your styles are still being applied to the proper elements. We rarely change the names of elements for backwards compatibility, but it is sometimes unavoidable.
I’m not sure why your post would have been removed on the forums as that is not something we do. If you have posted again on the forums, someone should be with you shortly. Keep in mind that while we work to make responses as fast as possible, in lieu of the recent update, it could take a little longer as we work through our queue of threads. Since all official support is handled there, we do ask that all discussion be handled there as our dedicated staff does not monitor these comments but is in the forums 24/7. Always make sure when writing in that you provide the staff with relevant information such as your website’s URL, a full description of the issue, any relevant pages to point them to to narrow down their time to figure things out, et cetera.

Cornerstone now works with the WordPress revisions systems and you’re able to revert using the revisions and then continue editing in Cornerstone.

Thanks for writing in! WooCommerce does indeed come with their own set of shortcodes that you can utilize on any pages you want as you wish. You could look into WooCommerce’s documentation to see that it has the shortcodes you will need to accomplish what you want.

Hi. I submitted a thread nearly two days (couple hours shy), and see I see plenty of threads being answered after mine, but not a single response to mine.
Maybe it got lost in the shuffle, but I even messaged a couple of the staff that, at the time, had minutes prior responded to other posts. Still nothing.
I made progress on my issue, but running into another issue with Cornerstone. I will start a different thread, hoping someone will see it.

The response was asking for more info, which I promptly supplied, but it’s since been over another day (and 4.5+ days since the original post) without a response.
I do understand with the new release you have tons of people with issues. I just assumed the thread would be responded to more frequently once a staff member finally picked up on it.

Yes, updates are always a bit busy in the forum. It looks like the issue was because you added a couple follow up replies and a second thread about the same/similar issue. We request customers not bump the thread (add a reply) as the way our support queue works is that we go off the oldest reply so every time a comment is added it adds it to the end of the list (we cover this in the How To Get Support article and just an FYI for future postings). Point taken. I was trying to give the most up-to-date information I had to avoid additional questions and having to wait another 2+ days for someone to get back to me. Even the staff that responded last night, who said they would put me in touch with a representative “immediately” (for customization) didn’t respond and I replied 6 minutes after they posted.
However, I’m glad they didn’t respond because it looks like I would have wasted money. I figured out the problem. It looks like it’s a Cornerstone issue (cache has been cleared, PHP version is fine, and other plugins have all been deactivated, but problem persisted). I gave details in that post.

Hi, I’m looking at switching over to this theme to update the look of our site. Our current theme is buggy so it’s time to switch. I’ve seen good reviews and everything looks clean and nice. What I’d like to know is 1) Are the font’s in the nav bar customizable? 2)Some nav bars have the logo in the the nav bar when scrolling. For those that don’t have the logo in the nav bar can it be added? 3) Can the shop pages be customized as well? Layout, side bars, nav bars etc? We do eCommerce and that’s a big part of it for us.

1. Yes you can change the font in the navigation in the theme options.
2. That’s possible.
3. You can edit the layout of WooCommerce and the column amount of the overview pages. Adding sidebars is also no problem.

Hello, I just updated Cornerstone and XTheme.. and now Cornerstone is not working anymore
.. it is just an endless loop of loading … I have no more access to my pages with cornerstone.. any ideas? Everything was working great until update.
Sounds like your installation was corrupted somehow. I would try deleting via FTP then reinstalling. Make sure you have a backup first as always in case you need to revert. If you need anything beyond that, a member of the team would be happy to take a look in our support forums.

OK I deleted and reinstalled XTheme Version 5.1.1 and then updated Cornerstone from 2.0.6 to 2.1.1 and now everything seems to work again. The Only issue it seems if I update The Theme from Version 5.1.1 to 5.2.1 from Wordpress backend .. then Cornerstone just freezes and endlessly loads making it useless. Or maybe I am missing something?.. For now I will remain on XTheme 5.1.1 and Cornerstone 2.1.1 and everything is fine for now.

Hi ThemeCo, I’m considering buying your theme. I see you have a number of plugins bundled with the theme. Are these full versions or are they just trial versions with limited functionality? My guess is that I’d have to purchase a license for each one to be able to use them to their capacity. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for writing in! The plugins themselves are full versions, but each 3rd party plugin author may or may not choose to place some aspects of the tool behind validation. For example, Revolution Slider is fully featured and you can utilize everything the plugin offers, but the “demo sliders” created by the plugin author are not available without the purchase of a license from them, which you would use to validate and unlock these demos. So if you’re comfortable using the tools and don’t mind putting in a little time to craft your own output, you can certainly do that with no restrictions, but if you really prefer to have a starting point, you would need to consider that purchasing a license would be the only way to unlock this.

As a new buyer I am confused with if you update the plugins bundled with this theme. The wording is confusing.
We do. If you are on automatic updates you will get them automatically once they are reviewed on our end and made available to customers. If you are not, you must get the plugin files from your download here once we update the theme.
Sorry but your own version log says you haven’t updated this theme since July and the download files still have out dated plugin versions that cannot be manually upgraded.

There are two ways to get updates: automatically or manually. If you have validated your license (instructions), you can update automatically as soon as each new update is out. If you have not, you must wait until we make a release available here.
On the first reply we sent, we sent a link to our Extension version compatibility document. Those are the latest supported versions for all of our Extensions. If you don’t see the latest version there yet, it is not supported yet.
We are dealing with nearly 3 dozen different companies release schedules and code bases. We don’t push out the latest versions as soon as they are made available. We first test them to ensure compatibility and THEN will make them available either via automatic updates (if you are validated) or manually here at ThemeForest once the new version of the theme has been approved.
We just released an update for X a couple of days ago (automatic updates), and it has not gone live yet at ThemeForest (manual updates) which is why you are seeing the July date.
That vast majority of our customers have validated their purchase and when doing so will get the updates within 12 hours of their release right to their WordPress dashboard. The same for Extensions only AFTER they have been tested. That is why you should refer to that version compatibility list for Extensions so you can know what the latest supported version is of each.
First off I want to thank you and commend you on very fast and helpful support here. We did register our licence and have setup automatic upgrade. All other plugin upgrades worked except the two we mentioned above.

Until then, the versions you see on the version compatibility are the supported and distributed versions.
