This is the default theme’s behavior and if you want to change it, you should do it yourself or please consider to somebody which can help you because we cannot provide additional customizations at the moment, sorry!

Hi there! I love your theme but I have one major problem: I’d like to use any visual composer column layout on my custom pages like “about” (= there’s no newspaper’s custom blocks on these pages!). Is there any way to enable all visual composer column layouts (like 1/2 + 1/2)?

Unfortunately, on our theme, it’s not recommended being used this type of layout because might appears some errors. All available layouts from Visual Composer are here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ar1c8llr Also, notice that you can try using the 1/2+/12 layout but we cannot say for sure if you will check good results in this case, sorry!

First of all, I will thank you for your interests in our theme! Notice that’s the general theme’s behavior and style for the whole theme, with that padding. So, if you want to reduce it, you should use a bit of CSS code and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area. Try the code below ->
@media (max-width: 767px){ .td-container, .tdc-row { padding-left: 0; padding-right: 0; }
This is a general code which is applied to the entire post container and not only for images.

Starting from this code you further should adjust what padding you want for your text. I have just given only an example, a hint. The rest of the code, you should make it yourself because we cannot provide additional customizations.

Hi there
I can not change Header and Article Bottom Adds. I dont know why but, when I changed adds and clicked ’’save changes’’ ; (loader animation) screen forever and no success. I am using add rotate plugin short code . There is old add still at header and article bottom adds, cant remove them also. But for all other adds areas, I am using short codes with no problem.
How can I fix the problem?

I’m trying to modify the theme, specifically this file: /includes/modules/td_module_mx1. php
I want to show the post ID in the loop, in order to extract custom fields by post ID, and show them on homepage loop or categories.
I tried this code, but it doesn’t work:

It’s displaying the page ID instead of the corresponding post ID.
Any idea how to get it? I have tested the code I have shown above in other themes and it’s working fine.

Hello, I have updated the theme and the shortcodes stopped working. For example I used this shortcode to insert ads inside the articles:

Can a WooCommerce category or selected products be displayed on a page along side with content from a blog category? For example, I love your video demo showing how easy it is to create a page designed with content we publish. I’d like that same page to have a section on products from WooCommerce so the user doesn’t have to go specifically to the shopping cart page. Possible?

First of all, I will thank you for your interests in our theme! I guess that you want to customize the Woocommerce page template with adding other elements from our theme, right? Notice that with the actual theme panel settings, you cannot do this but if you have some experience with the code, you should edit the Woocommerce template yourself and add what kind of extra elements you want. That’s more what I’m looking to do, not alter the actual Woo page itself. Basically, I want to be able to sell selected products on various editorial pages like blog posts.

We did not received similar reports. It may be caused by a plugin that you use. I suggest to verify your plugin when this issue appears. Try to disable them and see if the issue persist. If it works you will need to enable them one by one and see which one cause this issue. Disable it or try to find an alternative.

First of all, big thumbs up for the Newspaper Wordpress theme. I’ve watched the introductory video and I’m impressed by how easy one can customize his website using this theme. Also that’s why I’m very interesting in buying the theme.
Before doing that though, I would like to ask you a question or two. You see I’m not looking to create a traditional news site, but more of an agregator site with resources and YES news gathered from the most important news sites in the niche. So, for example, instead of creating a big block aka news grid with the posts from my site, I would like the grid to contain links to news from other sites (I know with Essential Grid you can do that, I’ve worked a little bit and you can customize every element in the grid and insert custom links, thumbnails, and all sorts of buttons and position them the way you like it). Can you do that with Newspaper?
Also, can you modify the Trending Now news ticker so instead of showing up posts from my site, to show custom titles that link to news from other sites (also customizing the way the link is opened – e.g. blank page, on the same page – would be also a big relief for me, so I’m not forced to mess around with the code).

Please note that the theme Grids and Blocks are designed to display posts created and published on the actual website. That is the purpose of these elements. As long as the posts are created and published, there will be no problem to filter, sort them and display them in the theme grids and blocks, using the available options.. Blocks can display posts and pages, not links. In the live demo you can see all of them

The thumbnails displayed in these page building elements are created from the featured images set for the posts. It is an automatic process.

In the 8,1 update there is a folder named 8.0_8.1 patch. But no instructions anywere to what to do with these files! If I update via envato toolkit there is any other action needed?

Updating the theme using the Envato toolkit is considered an automatic update, you do not need to do anything else. Follow the steps described in the guide.

The option to place sidebars on the left or right sides, is available in the theme. There cannot be a sidebar set on both sides at the same time however.

The latest version of Visual composer provided with the theme is version 5.2.1. When an update for the page builder is released we will first test it with the theme, then include it in the theme package. I cannot say when exactly this will happen, what I can say is that it will be available as soon as possible. You should not update Visual composer before officially supported, this could cause issues.

Please notice that recipes style for article posts is custom made and the simplest way to achieving it would be to install that demo. Please note that the tagDiv composer is created specially for the theme, and many more features will be added in future theme updates exclusively for this composer.
