Yes it seems the author was “inspired” by us so to speak. You get my meaning. Our theme was launched in 4 September 13 The ‘second’ newspaper theme also entitled publisher (they recently changed the theme name from publisher to newspaper) was launched in 26 October 16 There are 3 years apart between the themes. You draw the conclusions

Can you talk with themeforest for this “inspiration”? Also a big diferent I shaw is this “inspired” theme is a little faster (970kb versus 1,2mb)... maybe you could make a demo faster? I really need to change my theme for something faster….
Thank you for your concern. Envato has already been notified. The file size is dues ti the missing features. If a theme has lots more features, it will be a bit heavier on the load, but we have a guide on how to combat that and have top loading speeds. Hi, I am thinking of purchasing another license for a different project. However, I have a question – which version do I purchase I see there is a AMP newspaper version which is not this version – is the same developers and the same functionality? This is really confusing, why have 2 of the same, why not making this AMP ready? Which one do I purchase?

Please notice that the AMP plugin is not included in our theme. Most of our customers use this AMP version -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/amp/ because it’s free. Notice that plugin has been tested with our them and it seems to work as expected. To achieve good results, notice that you should customize it through the code and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!

That doesn’t answer my question – my question – there are 2 newspaper themes on here, one is named Newspaper AMP and the other this theme – both are identical – are they the same developers, yes or no, and if so why have 2 separate ones when you could make this one AMP ready?

We are not the developers of the amp theme for newspaper. The amp theme is just a skin for the amp plugin. Not a full theme. It is a user submitted theme, not made by us and not officially tested. I have blog website and I am a video food blogger, when i try to featured image 16:9 it cuts down on front and other page that look weird. I want to know from where i can change featured image size for block / modules / megamenu and make them 16:9 ratio ?

If you reset the key, nothing will happen to the content and the layout. It will remain the same. There should be no issues in resenting the activation.

There is no ideal image size for all these elements. It depends highly on the modules and blocks you use. The image should be at least the size of the biggest thumb you use on your site. This would be the biggest picture on the homepage or the featured image shown in your post. If you use big thumbs like full width grids or post styles that show the featured image full width, then it should be a full hd image for optimum quality. If not, then you will have to find the biggest thumb you use and make sure your image is at least the same size in width and height. Does this theme support unique post views? Or post views counter increments each time when a page will be refreshed?

The post view counter in our theme is a hit count. On each refresh of the post, the post registers a view. Unfortunately there is no option for unique post view count. Sorry.

Hi, the desktop version shows only the main categories (on the homepage), while for some reason, the mobile version shows subcategory in the same place. Can I change it somehow to also show only main category? Thank you.

Our theme provides an article inline ad after a set amount of paragraphs, but I;m not sure where you want to place your ads as you describe. Is it on a page? On pages you can use the page builder and place as many ads as you like after any amount of posts. You can add multiple instances of the same block and use offsets to avoid duplicates. Then you can place ads after your preferred amount of posts shown.

Thanks, i wanted to put ads in the Article Lists or Archive/catagory pages. I think i might have to code it. It’s very simple code that goes in the loop but didn’t work. I’ll keep trying. Something like this: <?php $postnum++; // Increment counter if ($postnum % 3 == 0){ echo adrotate_group(4); echo ’’; } ?> Just thought i’d mention it as a feature maybe for the future.. It would be nice to break up a long list like Archives/search with ads. thanx

Sorry but we have not tested any ‘ajaxify’ methods on our themes. It could be possible but I cannot say for sure as it was never officially tested.
As for the audio player, you can maybe find a plugin that can provide this functionality. The theme has no such features implemented.

Hello, I love Newspaper. It’s a great theme. I bought it several years ago. But I’ve got problems since I installed the V8. I use it on a website where I used Visual Composer on all my articles, not only the pages. So I chose to keep on using Visual Composer and I desinstalled the Tagdiv Composer. My problem is I can’t change the headings of text in text module. All texts are Paragraph. I can’t put them in H1, H2… The menu doesn’t open. Could you help me please?

I upgraded to Newspaper 8 but unfortunately, the grids that should support the full width are still in the old container width instead of taking up the full-screen width.
The forced full width on the header and footer do work though.
Is there something I messed up in the settings that could “block” the full width on the grids?
After Some browsing through the forum I found the solution myself.
Seems like you are not allowed to have any background color or it will break the “full width” feature.
Now it works like a charm

Hi guys we have a big problem.
We took 4 screenshots of our url. The problem is that our site creates his own urls /category/beauty dont exist. You can write a random word behind the /category like ”/category/gbuhnijm/” or ”/category/skurril/fjngj/fkgnsfn”. It will every time create a new site with all our posts. Can you pls fix it and help us. This Problem is a big SEO problem.

If the issue is still there in a wp default theme, check your plugins or your wp install.
