First please note that we don’t force users to use only the carousel mode:

Only the VC Products module use the carousel as default but you can use the Posts module with Product query to create all the variations you need. Just want to note that we don’t force users to buy Uncode.

the vc products only query posts/products and some more BUT NOT product categories? So by using VC Products – how do I show eg. 20-50 products from one category in a custom page?

this is not only my problem but a general problem!

Please make it clearly to all new-buyers that this theme CAN NOT LIST products “normally” – meaning that if you list products from 1 category they will be shown as a carousel.

To fix this, you must insert (depending on how many products you have in your category) x times products on a custom page…

Hi nhatkd! Sincerely this is the first time some users reported this, I don’t understand the problem you have since you have NOT purchased our item so far.

I have several accounts – I can give you the purchase code if needed! So I have 50 jeans in my jeans category. I wanted to show these 50 products on a custom page ( domain/jeans.com ). I can not achieve this with your build in owl integration.

Work around is to insert 50 shortcodes displaying the product by the ID (afraid that this also will be listed in the owl carousel?)

Thanks for the quick response! Currently I have blog post that titles run on 2,3, or even 4 lines. And have the blog text area set to equal characters. I was just curious how to limit the title in a similar way where each Title would be 2 lines and add ellipsis if longer. Does that make sense?

Hi bordegos! No sorry this is not an option, even if we are a flexible theme we first try to replicate the most common patterns and it’s really not common truncate the title that is a very important element for usability.

I’m still looking to truncate the title length on when it pulls in post titles on individual pages. I’ve tried adding this code which seems to work for other themes.

I was just curious why it may not be working for Uncode? Are you using a different variable to pull in the title?

Hi, this seems a generic code to trunkate the single page title, not the thumbnails. Does this really works on archives with other themes?

Thank you so much for sending this over. I’ve replaced the uncode_index.php file but it seems that the title length hasn’t changed. Should i have done anything besides saving over the original content in that file?

Hi bordegos! You don’t have to change the original file, you need to insert this in the Child theme of Uncode so you can update the theme without loose this modification. Let us know if you need more infos!

There wasn’t a location “uncode-child/vc_templates/uncode_index.php” so i created that path and placed the information in there and it seems to still have the full post titles. Is there something im missing? Also if this is something i need to purchase the extended support to get help for I will gladly do that since you’re being so nice to help with this!

• upload the child theme called “uncode-child.zip” you can see among the files you downloaded from ThemeForest: http://undsgn.d.pr/MD4HAm and activate it
• via FTP add to this child theme the file https://www.dropbox.com/s/68zrzcbxdk31b9m/uncode_index.php?dl=0 in this position uncode-child/vc_templates/uncode_index.php

If the theme is running and the file is uploaded the behaviour of the titles should change when you use the Post module. Otherwise please let us know.

I have the child theme running and have added the file to the that location. There is no such location when first installing the child theme though so I created one. Would it be easier if I allow you to log into my site?

After checking the code you use:

I realized that the function doesn’t run if you are on a single post (or page) because of this: ! is_singular(), so you can’t use it with Page Builder modules.

You can’t remove that part, otherwise titles on single pages will trimmed as well. But I recommend to edit it a little:

function custom_trim_my_title( $title ) {
    global $uncode_vc_index; 
    if ( is_singular() && !$uncode_vc_index )
        return $title;

    if ( strlen( $title ) >= 50 ) { 
        $title = substr( $title, 0, 50 ) . '...';
    }
    return $title; 
}
add_filter( 'the_title', 'custom_trim_my_title' );

and replace the file uncode-child/vc_templates/uncode_index.php with this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/68zrzcbxdk31b9m/uncode_index.php?dl=0 (the URL is the same, but I have changed something so make sure to empty the cache)
