I am using Newspaper V 7.8 because of the custom code i insert, i didn’t update to next version. Now, after wordpress 4.9 update i am facing a problem with Visual Composer. The problem is when i save changes on composer elements, page jumps to bottom of page. Is it safe to update at next Newspaper Version? Or can i do something else instead of this?

It is perfectly safe to update to the latest version. It is very recommended to always keep the thee updated. You will lose your customization though as the code has changed much since 7.8 but we always recommend being up to date. Wordfpress and plugins get updated and an old version of the theme can provide issues with newer versions of plugins and WP.

I made the update and now almost everything changed really bad. Widgets and sidebars are different and site is destroyed. What should i do to look like before?
Hello, Please make sure you switch to the main theme so your customization does not apply the new version as well as it could break the layout.
First of all, please disable the tagdiv composer plugin as right now you have both visual composer and tagdiv composer enabled and they do not work well together. Then check for any existing issues after you disable the plugin and clear cache. I’d like to combine on the sidebar some tabs e.g. ”Most Popular, Most Recent, Most Commented” in a unique block. How can I make this?

Sorry but our theme has no tabs element. Visual composer provides tabs if you want but the tagdiv composer has no tabs element. Please do not use both page builders together though.

I believe there is a bug. I set up the social networks in the Theme Panel.. save them, they show up on homepage header and in the footer, but after i mess with other settings in the footer or other parts of the skin.. the links disappear.. the only link that remains is the Facebook page link.
Im basically forced to manually enter the links again, and again, and again. Could it be a Saving Settings issue with the theme panel?

I’m not talking about the social counter.. im talking about the Social Icons that usually appear in the header and footer after you add links in the Theme Panel – Social Networks ..those are disappearing although i hit Save

The weather plugin was fixed recently and it is now working for me… however, it only works when I use Fahrenheit. If I set it to Celsius it does not work (it just does not display).

Before you make any changes to your site’s link structure, it’s important to make a backup of your site just in case Then after you change permalinks you have to create your sitemap again in seo yoast and have google reindex your site. There should not be other implications in the process.

The smart lists have a different implementation of images and ads. The smartlists will only use the smart list ads and they cannot be moved easily, sorry. As for images, please contact us via the support forum at https://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newspaper/ and provide an example and a link to your site so we can inspect the images. Please provide screenshots to how you are implementing these images.

Just bought the plugin.
When I try to add Raw Html block in tagDiv Composer – I cannot edit it.
When I try to add “text with title block”, then I switch to “text view” (not visual) and add custom html – divs with additional attributes, after I save it and reload the text block delete all additional attributes and leave only class
If I add those divs in text block and add before the div and close with after the theme makes it <div />...
for example <code><div class="help" bw="hell" bs="343" /></code> after i save and reload the page theme changes it to
<code /><div class="help" />.
. Thus I cannot add cusom code. =(

Sorry but the theme seems to strip custom attributes. Try a standard text column instead and paste the code in the tiny mce editor in text mode. The raw html element does not seem to work with custom attributes. Sorry but the newspaper theme cannot accommodate borders by default like the newsmag theme. A border can be added with custom css but you need to have good css skills in order to add it properly. Please use this guide to learn how to add borders with css: https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_border.asp and use the browser inspector to target the container you want to add a border to. Then create your code and place it in the theme panel under custom code.

Unfortunately the social counter cannot accommodate other networks for the moment. I will add this to our list for future updates and hopefully our team can add new options for the counter but I cannot promise anything though.

Hello, I’ve purchased this beautiful theme. I’ve installed the News Magazine demo and I use the style 3 header, but i wish use a logo slightly bigger than 272×90, how can I do this?

If you wish to use a bigger logo, please use one of the 3 full width header styles (9, 10 or 11) as these header styles will show the logo as big as you upload it. Other header styles cannot have a bigger logo because of the container for the header ad.

Sorry but our theme does not have such functionality. The theme cannot lower the width as all the elements will need to be adjusted to the new width. Our theme was not built on a dynamic width functionality.

You can use the same key on the testing site as well. Testing platforms are allowed with the same envato key. If you activate on the testing site, you will need to create an account so when activating the second time, you will have to use the manual activation in the activation screen at the very bottom.
