WOW…. Unbelievable. MAJOR FLAW.
When you go to edit via the theme options panel and select “Wizard” if you then choose “Customize Existing Design” you would assume that means to customize the design you currently have right?
Wrong, I saved ONE item, and it completely reformatted all of my entire settings. I spent 2 hours getting it back to how I had it before this.
Backed up immediately after and never touching again.
Extremely upset.
You need to fix this ASAP before other people fall victim to this flaw.

There is no “flaw”. Wizard description clearly states that it will overwrite most theme options.

Like I just said, I chose “Customize Existing Design”
The note clearly states it will overwrite if you select “Start From a Scratch” (which by the way is incorrect English, it should be “Start from scratch”)
So if you also got your English wrong and meant for “Customize Existing Design” to mean something else, then I suggest you change that text to say something else.
FAIL.
Please understand that Wizard is NOT a set of random settings combined into one interface. It uses those settings to automatically generate a design. Which involves overwriting existing theme options.
When you “start from a scratch” all setting are being set to default. When you “customize existing design” it uses the settings that were previously used in Wizard. But it will overwrite theme options regardless of which mode you choose.
^ See all of that text you just wrote in your comment there just to clarify this, that’s proof that the wizard is poorly written. That is BAD documentation.

You should put that in the disclaimer for the wizard because any reasonable person would misunderstand that.
You need to say “ALL SETTINGS WILL OVERWRITE IF YOU CHOSE ANY OF THESE OPTIONS.”
It’s not clear so therefore it’s bad.
The theme is a good design, I like it (with the exception of it being a little slow from the extra bloat)
But this is just one flaw, no big deal. Just fix the wording, it’s very confusing and contradictory to how it’s explained.
We will reconsider the wording.
However note that theme has almost 100K purchases and no recent complains about how the Wizard works (because it worked like that since its introduction).

Look, we’re doing all we can to fix the issue as soon as possible. Unfortunately we are dependent on DigitalOcean and Serverpilot. Fixing the issue is a mater of pressing one button in Serverpilot interface. But the damn thing is broken. We are currently awaiting reply from their support.

QUESTION: I have been using your “ARMAADA” theme for several years now. I am considering upgrading to your new “THE7” theme, but I need to know exactly what kind of changes I can expect. Will I see any changes to urls?, page layouts?, menu systems? ect? Before I can make this move I need to ensure it won’t do anything unexpected and most importantly won’t break any of my current rankings with url changes.
Also, can you point me toward documentation about the “mini site” feature you have integrated in this theme. I need details about how it will work and what it will allow me to do. Specifically can a “minisite” have it’s own menu system and sidebars?
p.s. is meant “microsite”.. I read the short blurb about it, but don’t understand exactly how it would work so would like to see some documentation details. thanks

All your content will be preserved. However you will have to set up theme options anew. (Gladly there is a “Wizard” feature that will help you create a site design similar to yours in 5 minutes. The rest can be fine-tuned in advanced options.)

So If I understand the “microsite” correctly. I am able to create new collections of pages (not just one page) that all have a different menu, logo, sidebar, etc. My goal is this: I have three websites all separate right now. They are different enough that I want them seperate, but similar enough to all be under one domain. I wish to insert the content/pages from website A & B into website C while still keeping them as separate entities with their original menu items, logos and sidebar information.

But also consider using a multisite WordPress configuration – this way you’ll have truly separate sites under single WP instance.
Will your template work on multi-site as well? I’ve considered doing this but actually think that for seo purposes combination of these sites makes sense as they are tightly related.
The7 supports multisite WP installations. That actually is how our demo is configured.
Cannot comment on SEO-related nuances of multisite WP though – I’m not a specialist in it.

Hi… I noticed a couple of days ago that a button element has been deprecated and now shows as VC-Element “Button (old)” and is in the deprecated section of elements tab. The default button is not as good as the “Button (old)” – I see Flinkfoxxx raised the same issue 8 months ago and the reply from support was “There was a bit of miscoordination in our dev team. Will ask our guys to the warning.” So my question is – has the button element been deprecated or can it still be used?

We are not removing deprecated features from the theme. So you can use them freely.
We are only marking features as “deprecated” or “legacy” when we think there are better alternatives available.

Nope. We have to have “dt-the7” folder name in order to deliver updates. You can rename it manually, but in this way theme will not be able to update properly.
