Hi, a friend has shown Cornerstone to me last weekend. I’m considering to move from Avada to the X now but that will take quite a while (lots of customizations).
Can you tell me about the compatibility of Cornerstone with Avadaa (if it is – do I have to disable fusion builder completely or is it possible to create new pages with Cornerstone?).
Additional question: Is the Cornerstone license included in X able to be installed independently for another theme to test how things work with Avadaa?
Thanks!
Hi there,
Cornerstone is designed to work with any theme and can work side-by-side with existing page builders. When you create a new page, just click the “Cornerstone” tab of the post text editor to start working in Cornerstone.
To use Cornerstone with a theme other than X you would need to purchase a standalone Cornerstone license.
Hi there If we choose not to use Visual Composer, can we safely disable/remove it, or is it integrated with the theme? We don’t use Visual Composer. Thanks
Hello there,
Visual Composer was originally used as a builder when we started development of the theme initially, but we have since created our own page builder (Cornerstone), which is recommended for a more seamless editing experience with X. Visual Composer is completely optional and mostly left in place for those who have used it for a long time and simply prefer it, and for backwards compatibility for those who built their sites on it long ago.
Cheers!
Hi, I would like to know is your app is build to suite screens of 2560 pixels and above please…
Hello there,
Thanks for writing in! You can certainly set the “max width” of the site to be very high like this using X, but our final “Extra Large” breakpoints occur at 1200px, so everything above that will appear the same, which could look funny at very large screen sizes if you don’t cap the max width.
Hopefully that helps, cheers!
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I asked my question with the knowledge that I’ve used a few applications to build my website and it all failed due to their incapability to function with the 2560×1440 pixels screen framework. After discussion on forums and support, it turned out that their application frameworks weren’t build to accommodate screen sizes as large as mine—and therefore didn’t innately function properly.
Lots of frustration and time wasted.
I don’t want to go through this again, hence my asking. The last thing I want to do is purchase this theme with regret as another frustration and time waster. And then no money back guarantee either. Or can I at least trial its functionality myself even if just for a day, so I can see how it behaves and preview as I build a site?
I look forward to your feedback.
Thanks
Hey there,
Thanks for writing in! We do not offer any sort of demo versions of the theme to try out, regretfully. As stated before, you can certainly set a very high max width as you need, but in general, that is a quite large size and you will not have any flexibility between our topmost breakpoint and your large size (which you’ve mentioned you’ve experienced with other themes, and will likely be the same with X).
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
My questions is not about breakpoints/media queries. I understand the issue of breakpoints which is a separate issue to the one I’m enquiring about.
My issue revolves around WYSIWYG. The applications I used before are not consistent in their WYSIWYG in terms of building the site with their interface and elements and the preview mode. The designed or placed objects like images, buttons, logos, paragraphs et al, jump out of place when previewed. Upon troubleshooting with support numerous times, they realized upon.further investigation that the app interface behaves weird because their interface wasn’t designed for larger screen sizes hence their WYSIWYG beings so way off.
So it is a WYSIWYG issue not a breakpoint/media queries issue. The breakpoints is something I gave to deal with and make work, but before that I want to see that where I place my elements in the app, upon preview, they need to be exactly placed in pixel minutiae.
Hope you understand better now.
Thanks.
Hey There,
Our page builder is a live editor so you see what you get, if the button is placed at a certain point it will stay there and also be on the live site there, you do not have to worry about this, the screen resolution does not affect this in any way. Hope that helps!
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Finally, we’re getting closer to the main issue.
Your answer explains and helps for anyone who hasn’t put a website together within the 2560×1440 pixels framework. This was exactly what one of the other top competitors confidently suggested until they admitted after I shared my project with them with plenty of screenshots and videocasts. It turned out that when they designed their app, they didn’t cater for large screen sizes such as mine.
I built the site in the Designer mode and then preview each time seeing that the elements jumped to different places on the site. Even after their expert self-analysis, they concluded that their app wasn’t build to work on such large screen sizes.
So my question to you is, have you tested that your theme—especially the Cornerstone builder—on the 2560×1440 pixels framework? This is really the only way this potential problem could be resolved.
The last thing I want to do is buy this theme and it doesn’t work on the 2560×1440 pixel framework.
I look forward to your feedback.
Thanks!
Both X and Cornerstone are fully responsive. There are no problems creating sites of that size. I would recommend taking a look at our demos (https://theme.co/x/demos/) or even our showcase sites (https://theme.co/x/showcase/ keep in mind some are heavily customized)
In regards to how an element might “jump” to another place. This could happen if your browser width changes. Our editor has a 300px area on the left side where you make changes to what you’re working on. If you’re working on a smaller screen, you could notice changes between what you see while editing in comparison to the front end simply because while editing you have a smaller viewport.
If you’re building the site on a large screen (2560+) you will have an accurate representation of what the front end looks like.
Ok.
Have you tested your them on a 2560×1440 pixels framework for you to be absolutely sure that it will work?
The visual builders I’ve tried all have the interface on the side. The issue was that when viewed full screen, the elements on the page jumped out of place. I’ve already checked your demos as I have done before I purchased previous builders. There is no giveaway unless I try it, which is where the action happened. Again, the problem came when I built it within the 2560×1440 pixels framework. The demos are just acting responsively after already being built on smaller displays and then scale to bigger displays—it wasn’t necessarily built within the bigger frame.
I don’t want to buy on hope, I want to buy on evidence.
Are you willing to back your product up and put your money where your mouth is> If your theme does not function within the 2560×1440 pixels framework after I purchase it, are you willing to give me a full refund?
Because with this issue, there is only one way to know with certainty. And if you don’t have the 2560×1440 pixels for this test, then that will have to be me, unless you go somewhere else and test it there. The business value for you, in this case, is that a test has been done on a 2560×1440 pixels interface. Whether it succeeded or failed, this is feedback for your product and future value especially considering that real designers work on 2560×1440 pixels screen estate. You may think of losing the sale but think about the ROI.
If absolutely necessary from your side, I sign a clause to delete the theme and not future use it. That’s how far I will go. I will record videos and screenshots too for evidence. Consider this proposition.
I’d like to hear your thoughts.
1200px is the largest breakpoint we add styles on. Anything larger than that will use the same desktop styling. We have tested on larger screens up to 2560px. There are no incompatibilities. Everything works, but we don’t add additional styling to optimize things on larger screens. If you’ve seen it working on our demos at 2560px wide, you’ll be able to build something like that with our theme.
Envato handles everything related to refunds so we’re unable to promise you anything there. You can read the refund policy here: https://themeforest.net/page/customer_refund_policy
Ok.
So you finally testify that you have tested it. I hope the way you speak about “styling” doesn’t defuse the issue. Would like to know the detailed limitations of this styling and what it entails. As for the refund policy, would I be able to get a refund from you if:
“Item is “not as described” An item is “not as described” if it is materially different from the item description or preview so you should expect the author to “tell it like it is” when it comes to the features and functionality of items. If it turns out the item is “not as described” you will be entitled to a refund.
Item doesn’t work the way it should If an item doesn’t work the way it should and can’t easily be fixed you are entitled to a refund of the item. This includes situations where the item has a problem that would have stopped you from buying it if you’d known about the problem in the first place. If the item can be fixed, then the author is required to do so promptly by updating the item otherwise you are entitled to a refund of that item.”
...?
Hi,
I haven’t heard from you since….
I’m ready to buy if you agree that if the product is not working on the 2560×1440 pixels framework, that I would receive a hassleless refund.
Please let me know soonest…
P.S—I already spoke to Envato about this and they agree. Just waiting for you.
Thanks!
Hi there,
I’m sorry for the delay getting back to you here. Yes, the refund policy will certainly be honored. X is 100% functional at 2560px, but beyond 1600px wide the site will look the same as we don’t optimize for screens any larger. If you encounter any bugs that we’re unable to fix a refund can be issued.
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
What does “X is 100% functional at 2560px, but beyond 1600px wide the site will look the same as we don’t optimize for screens any larger…” mean?
Does it mean I can’t design within the full framework of 2560 pixel width? Or does it mean I can but you don’t optimize for responsiveness beyond the 1600 pixel point?
Please explain so I understand clearly.
Thanks!
Hey There,
Like any theme/website there is a max-width where the containers will stop expanding so ensure that visually everything looks properly. You can see this in any of our demos.
In your demos I see a content area running throughout the site, always within the 980–1200 pixel centre radius and sometimes nav bars that are full width. Full width as in, I can see them on the outer edges of my 2560 pixel wide monitor.
So clearly those nav bars go over the 1600 pixel width?
Here are some site references that full dimension use on 2560×1440:
https://www.aristidebenoist.com/ https://basicagency.com https://www.behance.net/gallery/30821759/Long-Life-Wood http://fuge.ru/cases/It really utilizes all the full-width space.
So this is what I mean.
Is Cornerstone able to go this extent or do full-width containers cut off at 1600 pixels?
Just so you know, I’m ready to buy but waiting here at my desk for your response.
Hello,
As we have explained previously, our final main breakpoint lands somewhere around 1200px, which means you can no longer “style” anything beyond that point without doing anything custom. That value is representative of the content’s container, which is not always visible. Yes, some elements stretch fullwidth such as a nav, or content sections (if the page is set to “no container”), but as we’ve said, keep in mind this does not mean you can “style” things all the way up until such a large breakpoint.
Hi,
Do you have an exactly like this one, especially the header layout using your theme?
https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/local/boston
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in. I’m sorry, regretfully that exact look isn’t possible out of the box. You can get the grid layout with Essential Grid or The Grid. Both are included for free as part of our Extensions (https://theme.co/x/extensions/). However, the header would not be possible without some custom development.
Hi I need to up from 2.0.1 to recent version. What is the best practise for that? Sorry first time I use your theme..
Hi there,
We would recommend taking a backup of your site first, then manually updating. We have a guide for this here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-updating-your-themes-and-plugins/62
You can find a list of everything that’s changed here: https://theme.co/changelog/

Hello, how can I decrease the size of the Thumbnail of my blog posts?
Dear Sirs. In my website I tried to restore back to my former theme by deleting X-them BUT now my website displays lots of stuff (and errors). Please help me giving instruction on how to get back to my former theme. Regards

Dear Sirs I registered there BUT I don’t want to open a topic in a public forum. Do you offer standard support like other themes Authors? Regards
Hey There,
You can add a secured note inside your topic which is only visible to our staff.
A MAJOR reason why I purchased this theme was because of the extensions it also includes. You have numerous extensions that are included and NOT MODIFIED, meaning they have not been altered to work with the theme. Since certain extensions are not modified versions, is it possible to get more recent versions that have been fixed and updated by the developers of the extension?
For example, ConvertPlug is now at Version 3.2.0 while in the latest download for this theme it is still using a much older Version 3.0.3 Oct 10, 2017
This particular extension that you offer is not modified, so is it possible to get the latest version since it has numerous security issues fixed since the version included in this theme download?
Hey There,
We update all our extensions regularly and monitor them closely for security or compatibility issues. In this particular case the 3.2.0 version is scheduled to be release next week, once it’s pushed you can update the plugin via our automated updates.
Hello. I have bought support but when I register I get that license key is already used by an other e-mail address. I don’t know what e-mail adress and I have to contact you. I don’t have your e-mail address. Please send an e-mail to webdesign at clickbizz dot nl.
Hi, I’m having an issue with the menu, we have 8 sub menu items under the resources tab, we are unable to click on the items in the second row. Can you check it out? https://yieldorganic.com thanks!

X theme v5.2.5 is compatible with the latest woocommerece v3.3.1 ?
Hey There,
WooCommerce 3.3.1 was released a few hours ago so we do not recommend upgrading till we’ve tested every aspect and made sure all the major changes that were introduced with 3.3.1 are accounted for.
Is this theme good to create a website that would serve both as a blog and where i could also sell products/services? Loading speeds are very important, how optimized is the theme in terms of coding etc for those purposes. Thank you
Hey There,
We’ve built X with speed in mind and as we fully support WooCommerce it’s no problem at all to run a blog and store at the same time in one installation. Hope that helps!
Hi, we’re interested. Some questions. (1) Can we generate lightbox galleries of videos from vimeo albums? (2) Will it pull our custom thumbnails from vimeo? (3) Can we tweak the thumbnails to be movie-poster shaped (taller than wide)? (Like our current site—see http://www.wheelhousecreative.com/trailers/recent) (4) Can the lightbox auto-play videos? Thanks
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in. This isn’t something offered by X natively, but a grid like the one on your current site could be possible using The Grid or Essential Grid. Both of these plugins are included for free with each purchase of X as part of our Extensions.
So if I have problems with one of those extensions … do I get support from you, or the plugin author?
We provide support for the included Extensions in our support forum.
seems very interesting. although the integration with woocommerce is not clear. I’m just gonna ask a question before the purchase. Are the programmers from India or Asia? .
Hello there,
Thanks for writing in! We are based out of the United States. The WooCommerce integration is mostly stylistic, providing a level of base styles that more thoroughly integrate into the theme. Although there are a few minor functional updates to help with this integration, it is mostly “stock” when used with X.
Cheers!
Are the Authors of this theme testing out the affects of Gutenberg on Page Builder that this theme is built on?
Hi there,
We do regular compatibility testing to ensure our products work correctly with WordPress. Our page builder will continue to be separate from the WordPress core editing interface, including Gutenburg. As Gutenburg is still under development we’ve not yet decided to what extent we may natively integrate with it, but we can say our page builder will continue to operate on it’s own the way it always has.
Is it possible to get the exact them like what you have on your website ? I like the purple pink background with the black tabs at the bottom. Is there a way to get that ?
Hey There,
Our sales page is a modified version of our Ethos 3 demo so you would need to customize Ethos 3 to recreate our sales page. All the best!
Cant be able to purchase the theme its showing that payment cant be done
Hmm, could you try again? We use ThemeForest so it may be something with their payment system but do let us know if you can’t checkout.
