Sorry but the documentation is not yet ready for the newsletter element. I will try to explain here in a few words. Once activated, the new plugin will provide a newsletter element in the tagdiv composer element list: https://www.screencast.com/t/fZCUaJWoMEH Once added to your page you can change it’s settings and select one of the 3 newsletter sources MailChimp, Mailer Lite or Feedburner. You can add the newsletter widget in the sidebar of your post by copying the code from a page into a text widget in the appearance->widgets section. Create a new page and edit it with the tagdiv composer. Then only place the newsletter element and configure it properly. Save the page and then exit the tagdiv composer and access the page back-end so you can copy the shortcode. Hi, I’ve updated to the very latest version of Newspaper, do I also need to delete all optional plugins that come with the theme that I have already installed and install the plugins from 8.7.1 or are they just the same as in previous versions?

You should update the plugins as well because they have also been updated. Please disable and delete your current theme plugins and install them again from the new theme package.

Social Sharing. Is it possible to include short URLs to posts in the next update? perhaps by the icons? People would then be able to control if they want to have their own branded short URL by using WP Bitly, I think its a great suggestion and it’s something this theme is lacking. Thanks!

Hello,
One more question: I have posts that have more than 1 category. For example sake lets call them ’ CAT1, CAT2, CAT3’
Lets say a post is in all 3 categories.
In the homepage I have a block to display posts from CAT2 and added the title CAT2 to the module. This posts is showing there but with CAT1 in is meta.
How can I fix this for my client?

If a post belongs to multiple categories, it will show up in any block that will grab any one of it’s categories. The category tag shown will always be the post primary category: https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/

Please check your server configuration and file permissions. We encountered this issue before and it was server related. Try to change your settings on the server, change from ‘managed’ to ‘standard’ plans, check your php version and make sure it is above 5.6, check file permissions: https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions

We know of 3 possible causes for this issue.
1) The wp super cache setting to cache page. Please only use these settings in wp super cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ If you use any other cache plugin, make sure you do not cache pages for known users or for logged in users depending on the plugin setting.
2) Do not use this setting in seo by yoast: https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh
3) Editing a page that was previously built with another page builder. You need to edit the page with the builder it was initially created with. Do not edit a page with tagdiv composer if it was not originally built with it. If you created your page in visual composer and then switched to our own page builder, you will have to re-create that page

The code is just exemplified in our guide. you should not use that exact same code as it refers to different resources you might not use. Please adapt the code to your own resources. You have to add the code in the top bar template not in the menu. You will get a ‘call to undefined function’ error though as the function does not exist anywhere in WordPress or the theme. You have to place the function as well. You cannot call a function that is not defined anywhere.

Sorry but the latest articles template will always be at the bottom if you use the page builder + latest articles template. You can however use another page template that does not provide the latest articles section and create a block at the top you can use instead of the latest articles.

This is the most common type of plugin conflicts. It breaks the js and breaks the loading animation leaving the images with an opacity of 0. Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then try to figure out which plugin causes the problem.

I updated to Newspaper 8.7.1, now I cannot filter my posts by categories using tagdiv block. Whenever I use the category filter, I got the following error when open the page with TD composer.

Unfortunately we have not tested any ad management plugin so I cannot say for sure which one will work. You will have to try a few of them out with a bit of trial and error. If you are planning to use a premium plugin, you can ask our forum community (http://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newspaper/ ) if any of our members have experience with the particular plugin and our theme before you buy the plugin.
