It is the product thumbnail on the individual product page – in the gallery of thumbnails below the main product image – that I want to remain uncropped/rectangular 3:2. Prior to updating (woo and uncode), the thumbnail images below the main product image were not cropped. The product gallery images are now hard cropped to a square. I have two other questions that I hope you can help with: 1) can I get a thumbnail in the search results? 2) I can pull the description text of a product Category or product Tag archive into the archive template, but I would like to use a content block with a query for my archive template. after exploring the changes in WooCommerce 3.3, the best way to have not cropped thumbnails is a PHP filter, but this could create problems with carousels I’m afraind, this is the reason behind the choice made by WooCommerce team, I guess.

Here is the snippet, just put it in the file functions.php of your child theme (after activating it, of course)
