Hello,
Since I updated to theme 8.5.3 (and now 8.5.5), my portfolio pages are broken.
Specifically, the text I would enter in the main text area on the page used to appear in the sidebar and now that sidebar appears at the bottom of the area I created with the visual composer in my first column.
Suggestions on how to fix or is this a bug?

Hey Matt, can you please share the actual URL where this is occurring for you? I can’t replicate this locally and all the demos have been updated without this issue as well e.g. http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/portfolio/blackbox/
Thanks
Is there a way I can privately share the links with you?
You can either open a ticket on the support forum in regards or send an email via the contact form on my author page.
Cheers
Ok – I sent in an email via your author page.
Thanks merosler, i’ll respond to that in regards. Cheers
Just updated to latest version and now my builder doesn’t work. I also updated the required plugin update as well. Anyone else with this issue? I cannot edit any of my pages right now.
By required plugin I mean the visual composer update.
Hey freshlyroastedweb, are there any errors reported in the browser console? Could you please open a ticket or reach out in regards via the contact form on my author page with your admin credentials so I can take a look at what’s going on in your setup https://themeforest.net/user/themenectar
I am still waiting on updates about this issue. Please let me know or else I will have to get a refund:
Hi,
I would like to use paypal by braintree (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-powered-by-braintree/) but unfortunately there is a conflict with the latest version of this theme. When I try to use the payment I get the error:
Oops, there was a temporary payment error. Please try another payment method or contact us to complete your transaction.
Same problems as described here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/braintree-credit-card-payment-failed-status-code-92202/
The issue is customisation of the checkout page. I switched to another theme and it worked, confirming the conflict with Salient.
Can you please look into this and release a fix?
Hey fransanchezoria, you can safely remove (or rename) the directory “checkout” inside salient/woocommerce to use the default WooCommerce checkout formatting. If that doesn’t fix the issue for you, something else is at play
Cheers
Hey wondering how to turn off the auto slide for my nector slide thanks!!
Hey mac19! Are you referring to a Nectar Slider element or the nectar slider style available in the image gallery element?
Cheers
Hi there,
I just installed the latest update on a new domain. I get the following error
Could not copy file. js_composer_salient/assets/js/dist/frontend-editor.min.js
what do i do?
Hey geekdot, have you tried to update via one of the other methods yet? http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/
It is on a new domain and I uploaded the latest parent theme via file manager under the themes folder via cpanel. Is there a quick fix around this? As I already started making general setting changes.
I uploaded the november version but I still get the same error.
Hey geekdot,
Could you please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so we can take a further look into this? https://themenectar.ticksy.com

Hey there!
I’m been trying to remove the avatar logo from my blog post element, seen here:
https://nightcappd.com/Tried a few CSS codes, but nothing worked. Any ideas? Thanks!
In addition to removing the post title!
Hey barnmonster,
add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
.post-area.standard-minimal .post-author .grav-wrap, .post-area.standard-minimal article.post .post-header { display: none!important; }
.post-area.standard-minimal .post-content { padding-left: 0!important; }
Cheers
Beautiful! Thank you!!!
You’re welcome barnmonster
Hello!
I seem to have stumbled upon another problem. My main page has a blog element that will display the most recent post, and I’ve been trying to get the margins with the post the way I’d like.
While the post page (https://wp.me/p9qOSP-1zy) displays the edits I make to the margins, the main page (https://nightcappd.com/) does not reflect them at all!
Is there a certain option I should be selecting, or maybe there’s another way of achieving what I would like to accomplish?
Thank you again!
Hey barnmonster,
add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
@media only screen and (min-width: 1000px) {
#nectar_fullscreen_rows .container {
max-width: 900px;
}
}
Cheers
Great! Thank you!
I’ve checked the option for the header to stay at the top, but it seems it still scrolls with me as I go down the page. Is there another option I should be checking instead?
https://nightcappd.com/Hey barnmonster,
The header will always be at the top when using the nectar fullscreen page rows option since the page is technically never moving. Turn that option off and use the fullscreen option directly within your rows when editing them.
Cheers
Unfortunately, that’s exactly my problem – the header is still moving, even though I have selected “Header Remove Desktop Stickiness”, like on my site here:
http://itsbreakfastfordinner.com/Hey barnmonster,
Can you verify that you also have the “Header Hide Until Needed” option off in the Header navigation > animation effects tab? If so, Could you please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so we can take a further look into this? https://themenectar.ticksy.com
Cheers
With the latest update, you’ve updated the page builder, is this to the very latest version? If not, could you add the version number to the changelog please.
Hey Luke86, it is indeed to the latest version – the version number is displayed in the plugins section (5.4.7). Cheers
Since the updated google font list in 8.5.4 I can no longer chnage fonts through the salient admin. I have done all the usual stuff like disabling every plugin other than Salient VC, clearing caches and disabling Cloundflare. In the consol I see this:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 () jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.4.1:2 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1 fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Annie%20Use%20Your%20Telescope,%20cursive; Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 () [Violation] Forced reflow while executing JavaScript took 66ms css Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()
Any ideas? is the location of the font or the method of calling it broken? Its not a big site and has very little custom CSS (I removed it all to check that wasnt conflicting either!)
Hey martingfisher, that’s pretty strange – could you please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so we can take a further look into this? https://themenectar.ticksy.com
also – ever since your most recent update it has messed up the blog page: too much padding left on the post items and not spanning full width of the blog container—> https://stambaughdesigns.co/blog
Hey again jstamb, this is also not what I’m seeing on my end – the blog posts are spanning directly up to the container: https://imgur.com/a/NVvjP – have you tried clearing your cache yet?
Cheers
yeah I’ve tried clearing my cache, not sure what’s going on. http://prntscr.com/irnn2l
Hey jstamb, please see my response to your previous comment in regards
I’m getting some CSS errors with the Material Tabbed template. The icon size is tiny and inline to the left, rather over the “Website Design” title, and no drop shadow, or bottom border—> https://stambaughdesigns.co
I have the most recent Salient files updated and the child theme css is not interfering (I think). Please help me troubleshoot the issue.
Hey jstamb,
That’s not what I’m seeing on my end after checking in Chrome/Firefox – what browser are your seeing this on? https://imgur.com/a/7MkLS
Cheers
I’m using Chrome – http://prntscr.com/irnlf4
Hey jstamb, I just tested on another computer as well as browserstack.com and that issue is not present. Have you tried a second machine to ensure it has nothing to do with any sort of caching?
portfolio sorting by attribute. I need to sort sub portfolios by attributes, is it possible?
Hey JoeEBasta, unfortunately that functionality would require some custom modding as of now, but I’ve noted your +1 for the idea on the wishlist
It would be great, cutting at least one click away in complex portfolios: I have 3 main categories, and a lot of sub project galleries for EACH BRAND…sorting by attribute too would allow a sub sort in each main category…hope to get soon an update..THANKS ALOT anyway guys
I found a workaround assigning a parent project category to specific categories. Each project-specific parent category is in sorting filters. BUT, is it possible to hide from filters the label: All and the label Exibith (that is the main category)?
Hey JoeEBasta, could you kindly share your URL so I can take a look at your portfolio settings to assist?
Cheers
let me know if U need user and password to access backend.
Hey JoeEBasta!
add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
.portfolio-filters-inline .container > ul > li:first-child,
.portfolio-filters-inline .container > ul > li:nth-child(3) > a {
display: none!important;
}
Cheers
Thanks a lot guys!
You’re welcome JoeEBasta
Hi guys,
I’m using WPML for translation but I cannot see WPML language menu as I should in the top navigation menu pull right. The menu options (flags for english and portuguese) are not visible. Is there anything I should do? Please take a look here: http://summit.bullseye.com.uy/website/
Hey sressi,
Copy the header.php file into the a child theme and search for this in the file:
class="buttons"change both occurances of that to:
class="buttons sf-menu"
and the issue should be resolved – we’ll be handling this in a future update
Cheers
It didn’t work. I moved the language switcher to the top main menu with the same result. I’ve talked with the WPML team, they’ve checked the coding of the CSS rules for the menu and they say that even if I add the CSS rules to the WPML configuration there is no telling if they will be enforced. This is because the CSS rules that are setting the visual style of the menu are being set directly on the HTML code of the page instead of a CSS file and the rules are using the ”!important” value. This will override anything that is being set before these rules are. Guys I need an option to either load these CSS rules in a file or point me to a way to change them without breaking any other visual style in the site.

Hey sressi, I thought you were just trying to get the dropdown to work with the native Salient styling, if you’re adding custom css could you paste the code in here (via pastebin.com) so I can assist?
Thanks
What I wanna do is the switcher look fine and integrated to salient. The solution you gave me didn’t work so I talked with WPML support team asking for custom CSS to solve the issue (there’s an option for additional CSS in WPML plugin). The answer they gave me is what I wrote above. What I need is to integrate the language switcher in a clean and aesthetically appropriate way. What should I do to solve this issue and get the switcher to look propperly?
Hey sressi, custom CSS can still overwrite any of the header navigation if it is specific enough. This is why I’m asking to get linked the styles you’re trying to add so I can see if their written in a way to override the theme style and if not, I can assist
Hey, I’ve talked with WPML support team and here is their answer:
“Hi, the main classes that need to be manipulated are the ones that relate to the “ul.sub-menu” and “ul.sub-menu > li.menu-item”. These elements have many rules managing them and any specific CSS that I suggest will end up breaking something for them.
The CSS rules that would need to be added to the WPML configuration would be the following:
ul.sub-menu{ width:60px; background: none; padding: 13px; }
Let me know if the theme’s developers can manage to help you with enforcing these rules.”
Hey sressi,
add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:
html body[data-dropdown-style="minimal"] #header-outer header#top nav > ul > li:not(.megamenu) ul a:hover {
background-color: transparent!important;
}
html body.material header#top .sf-menu > li.sfHover > ul {
top: 60%!important;
}
html body[data-dropdown-style="minimal"]:not([data-header-format="left-header"]) header#top .sf-menu >li ul { width:60px!important; background-color: transparent!important; padding: 13px!important; }
Cheers
Great! You guys rock!
You’re welcome sressi
One last question, can I move the swticher to the pull right menu section using the same css?
Hey sressi, yes – but you’ll need to implement the very first mod I mentioned of:
Copy the header.php file into the a child theme and search for this in the file: class="buttons" change both occurances of that to: class="buttons sf-menu" and the issue should be resolved – we’ll be handling this in a future update
Since the issue with the pull right was also that the submenu functionality wasn’t getting applied at all
Hi there, a question about forms: I’m using material style, but after filling in a form but not filling in the last field the complete form dissapears. Please try it out at this page: https://scg.kleidi.nl/ik-wil-mijzelf-ontwikkelen-in-sales/ by clicking the button “Ik wil gebeld worden”. It shows a pop-up form.
Hey Abbenhues,
As of now the minimal form styling would need to be disabled when using an ajax gravity form since they re-render the HTML markup when there’s errors and it removes the minimal styling Salient added. I’ve noted to test further with this and add a workaround in the future
Cheers
Hi. The web is www.mood.works
Second section/row.
I have a gallery inside a 5/6 column on the right with 3% padding on all sides. On my macbook air retina display with 1440×900 px resolution there is no padding, and the gallery is from top to bottom of the viewport.
Please see photos attached here: https://imgur.com/a/NGnJE
If there is an idea how I could fix this, I would be most grateful.
Hey Trikomat,
edit the column holding the gallery and set the column padding position to “top & bottom” with a value of around 6%.
Cheers
Is there a html version for salient theme? I’m developing a website using Laravel and i need a html template.
Hey usamaxyz, unfortunately there’s no HTML version available as of now
Hello!
I’m interested in renewing for another project, would you have solutions similar to this theme?
http://preview.themeforest.net/item/dixie-podcast-and-audio-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/20635268Or suggestion of Plugins that help to leave the podcast player displaying before opening the post?
Hey ofmarconi!
The closest thing would be making use of the audio format in the blog + the “standard blog = minimal” style to show the audio players in a list http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-business/articles/
Cheers
Hello, i’m trying to use snazzy map but i don’t know how to use it. I installed the plugin but then how do you do to have the map in your home page? Thanks for the help!
Hey victoriagouebault!
Salient already has a built in map element within the page builder: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-promo/google-map/ if you’re trying to integrate a third party one, please see the plugin forums for support
Cheers
Is there anyway to style individual Menu Links in the Page Submenu to highlight a Current Page?
Hey agent86,
add this into the custom css box in the Visual Composer page builder (top right gear icon):
body .page-submenu li:nth-child(1) a {
color: #fff!important;
}
Cheers
Hi,
Is it possible to create a fancy box that opens a lightbox, on click, that have multiple images and video (youtube or vimeo) with a vertical scrolling like Behance? I’ve attached a example of what i’m trying to do. The ideia, is to stay on the same page, to view to whole project, like a portfolio that dont have aditional pages per project.
Example: https://ticksy_attachments.s3.amazonaws.com/Prntscrn1_206.jpg
Thanks!
Hey LucasEliasType,
Unfortunately there’s no way to accomplish that kind of layout as of now, however an image gallery lightbox will display a gallery to scroll through of all the images in the gallery
Cheers
Hello,
I am finding that my header overlaps with the first row on my layout. This happens when the row type is set to “Full width background” or “Full width content”
Please see http://wescanedmonton.com
Hey wilsonhuang92, in the Salient options panel > general settings tab select “material” for your theme skin to avoid this.
Cheers
What is “material”? I only have Original and Ascend. And neither of them fix it?
I have decided to change the header to “Transparent” until I figure out the solution to this problem
Hey wilsonhuang92, if you’re missing the Material skin, you must be on an outdated version. Please see the docs in regards to updating: http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/updating-salient/ Cheers
