Is there a way to stop the “top nav” from displaying on the “off canvas” on mobile?
On PC the “top nav” is in my header, like i want it, but on mobile, it puts it in the “off canvas”.
Is there a way to just not have it display on mobile?

My website isn’t live yet, so I could try to explain in more detail for you?
On desktop I use a top header menu and an off canvas menu.
On mobile I want to only use the off canvas menu links, however it automatically puts the top header menu links in there to.
I would like to not have these links displayed on mobile or at least displayed underneath the other links in 1 column, as appose to next to each other in 2 columns.
I how that makes sense.
If i set the top header menu to “pull right” it doesn’t show on mobile.

In the Salient options panel > header navigation > off canvas navigation tab can you ensure that the “Off Canvas Menu Mobile Nav Menu items” option is off?

It’s the “Top Nav Menu” I want to not display on mobile. This makes mobile show no menu at all.
Can I mod that to “top nav”, so the off canvas displays but the top nav doesn’t?

I have a workaround at the moment, if I set the header menu to align right, it then doesn’t show in the off canvas on mobile.

Did something change in the 8.5.5 update regarding the .svg animations? This code below had been working perfectly until the most recent update.

Can you share the URL in regards so I can take a look? Also when you use the default WooCommerce archive pages with the left sidebar layout (set in the Salient options panel > woocommerce tab), the sidebar widget area will display on top by default

Yeah, I just realized that. But, the site layout consists of 5 different pages with a specific filter for each category, I tried to use the category pages, but for some reason Woocommerce ended up mixing all of them in the filter.

I am trying to use the classic dropdown which works great with the exception of on mobile. For some reason when i select background colors, it works on the desktop dropdown, but not the mobile. It seems like it’s using the default black and I would like to modify the colors of the backgrounds, hovers, and text. Thanks!

Thanks, that helped, but now widget slideout is wanting to show on desktop and mobile when i only want it to show on mobile. Is there a fix for this?
Also, it looks like search goes missing on mobile. Is there a way I can incorporate search on mobile as well?

1. In the Salient options panel > header navigation > off canvas navigation tab ensure that the Off Canvas Menu is off
2. In the Salient options panel > general settings tab set your theme skin to “material” in order to get the search functionality to display on mobile devices

thanks – the only problem with turning off “Off Canvas Menu” is then my top nav on mobile shows up empty. Remember, I dont want the classic menu on mobile because that doesnt allow me to change colors (see above). Thanks!
Nevermind, I think I discovered that the past developer modified the theme in a way thats causing the nav not to show up.
is there a way that i can make the search bar appear using the ascend skin (preferred look and feel)?

The only way to show a mobile search in older skins would be to turn the option “Header Sticky On Mobile” off in the Salient options panel > header navigation > logo & general styling tab. It will then show up when the menu is open

i’d like to build a training website with free video tutorials and also video courses (paid, maybe on woocommerce). Please, what will be the best setup?
Probably i should put all of my video tutorials under “Portfolio” section. Everything will be always the same = Tutorial + Description + Releated Tutorials + Comments
Now, what if change my mind and after 6 months with over 50 video tutorials i’d like to add for example “shared buttons” section below description. It means that i would have to add this “shared buttons” section 50 times or there is some “Master Page” / “Contect Block” feature? It would be great if everything will be based on this “Master Page” and if i add “shared buttons” section to this page it will automatically do that on my 50 video tutorials as well… UNCODE theme has this feature so i’m asking if there is any way to do this in Salient.
Also, is there any way to embed my video from youtube/vimeo to the header of “Portfolio” section and hide the headline completely?

Hello, I have just updated the theme from 8.5.4 to 8.5.5 in order to get the new wpbakery plugin as per the theme changelog:
Updated Salient Visual Composer to current version (now named Salient WPBakery page builder)
However, when I check the plugin page it is still listed as Salient Visual Composer Version 4.12.1 – would you be able to confirm this is the latest version?
BTW – I had to manually update the theme as the Envato Market plugin didn’t seem to want to work. Many thanks, RB

So far I haven’t been able to replicate this on two different local machines on the latest Chrome and by checking on browserstack.com with Chrome on Mac/PC – can you give more details as to what version of Chrome you’re seeing this on and if you can see it occuring on more than one machine?

It popup ups normalny but (with 3 columns) but after 0.5 second it popup as a 2 columns and everything is destroted. I’ve already cleared my caches and it’s still not working :/

on my macbook PRO 13” (google chrome Version 65.0.3325.162) everything is working correctly so i don’t know where is the issue on my PC. I’m using 4k monitor but the Google Chrome application is sized for 1080p… nevermind, thank you for letting me know really appreciate it!
My complete site is ready, up and running. And at the same time, we spend the massive amount on videos and uploaded. Now we came to know that the videos don’t have autoplay option on mobile. Kindly help me to overcome this problem. If not so we need to redesign the complete site.

Youtube videos can not be autoplayed on mobile and the self hosted video row backgrounds are swapped for a static images on mobile devices. This is because up until iOS10, self hosted video BGs were intentionally disabled by mobile browsers to prevent unauthorized data usage. Because an autoplaying video BG still won’t work on any phones running an earlier version of iOS – we’ve been waiting to implement a solution that will work consistently across phones, old and new.

You can also enter a custom script into the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab at the “Google Analytics” field. If that’s still giving a javascript error, something is likely wrong with the script you’ve pasted. If that’s the case could you share the URL so I can see what error is being reported? Cheers

Hey! It looks like part of your markup is from an outdated version of Salient – do you have a header.php in your child theme? If so, you’ll need to update that file to reflect the current markup in regards to logo

On a one-page layout, my anchor links in the top nav will be underlined when the page initially loads. This is the hover/active effect. How do I prevent this? I do not want that effect to appear and disappear when the page loads. I noticed your demo website does not do that.
When I scroll the page down, the hover effect will appear on the navigation links correctly. However if I scroll all the way up, it will remain on the 1st menu item and not disappear. If I add a home link, the home link will permanently be underlined.

I’ve been using the theme for at least 2 years now, and I really love it. I aways figure out a way to go towards what I want, without really adding code.

As you can see, it shows the post-title in full screen with my bg-header, but I can’t add a subtitle and I’d love to. Have any of you guys find that a solution?

Unfortunately this would require custom development as the header function would need to be modded to allow the display of a new field.
The blog post type header settings doesn’t currently offer a field for this, so there’s no quick fix. However, i’ve noted the idea for the wishlist

Hi, I have a problem with WPML 3.9.3 and the translation of the Portfolio item. I turn on the feature to translate Portfolio on the WPML translation Option. I create a copy of the main language, I edit the text content in the portfolio item but when I click save… the text doesn’t save! I can only duplicate the content but I can’t change it! No problem on the Pages translation, works fine, but on the Portfolio doesn’t work! Can you help me? tnx! Cheers
