Congratulations for the template! I’m working with him on several projects, and I love his customization. I just found out by reading a comment that you can add a background image to the particle image, that’s a very favorable point! On the other hand, do you have a size to suggest a background image so that you can see the whole, that is, untrimmed, in the most common monitor sizes? I’m not talking about placing a background image in a specific element of Nectar, but simply adding a background image in a row with “full width background”. Regards!

When adding a row BG image, you can make it responsive by adding top/bottom padding to the row using % values e.g. start by experimenting with 10% for both and alter based on your image dimensions

Feature request: When working in Page Builder and choosing COLOR for type, background, etc., could you please put some sort of reference or option to select the accent colors we chose in the Salient options? For me, it just defaults to the basic colors or what seems to be random colors and I have to keep Salient Accent Color tab open in another window just for reference. Thanks a bunch, keep up the great work!

Are you using the most recent version of the theme(8.5.5)/page builder(5.4.7)? The bottom colors shown in the color picker fields should be reflective of your theme options panel > accent colors settings

Hello, I have theme version 7.6 and a child theme installed. Now i downloaded the wp zip and try to install it via the admin panel. It shows 404 error page upon clicking installation. Any idea why?

Step 1. Download the Salient theme archive from ThemeForest Step 2. Head over to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress dashboard Step 3. Click the Add New button on this page followed by the Upload button when prompted Step 4. Locate the salient.zip file you extracted from the ThemeForest download archive and click the Install Now button Step 5. Choose Yes In the Upgrade existing theme? option from the dropdown list Step 6. Click Install Now followed by Activate
The steps are broken between 4 and 5. I got an 404 page.

That issue can happen with certain server setups and the easy theme updates plugin. One quick thing to try before updating via a different route would be to temporarily change your permalink setting to “Plain”, in Settings > Permalinks. If that doesn’t work can you try to do the update via the Envato market plugin?

This is a known issue related to the current WooCommerce version and the Salient options panel > form styling > “Enable Fancy Select/Checkbox/Radio Styling” option.
You could either turn that option off or reach out via email to get access to the current beta where this is fixed

I have the latest updates for Salient and Woocommerce but I’m getting this error message in Woocommerce status page (see below). How can I fix this? Also, not sure if you can help me on this one but the Integration Tab in Woocommerce settings is gone and I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the Salient theme. THANKS!

the cart directory is no longer in Salient, depending on the method you used to update – it could have accidentally remained from an older version. If you’re on Salient 8.5.5, you’re safe to simply delete that directory from the theme i.e. salient/woocommerce/cart

Okay, great to know. Thank you. Whenever you guys push an update, I usually just FTP and overwrite existing files which would explain why the CART folder still remained. I went ahead and deleted the folder like you said and the error messages went away. Thanks again!
Sorry, I forgot to ask about the second part of my question. The INTEGRATION TAB in Woocommerce > Settings disappeared. Does Salient theme have anything to do with that? I tried disabling/enabling all plugins but no luck. Thanks!

1. will the theme compatible with Gutenberg that will be included with WP 5.0? 2. if i finished building the site before WP 5.0 released, will it still look OK after the WP 5.0 released? 3. what’s your plan on WP 5.0 and Gutenberg? i need to know my options

The pages built with the Salient page builder will still function after 5.0 – there’s no support for the editor yet, since it’s quite far away from an actual release date (first beta still has no date set https://make.wordpress.org/core/5-0/ ) however when it gets closer we’ll ensure that the page builder will still be in working order with it

Was the “extra content editor” removed in this most recent version of Salient (8.5.5)? It appears to be missing altogether when I create new portfolio items in my WordPress, and when I edit an existing portfolio item the field shows up for a brief moment until the page loads and then it’s replaced with the VC interface.

Do you have a tutorial for on how to load the fonts locally instead of using through theme’s option penal? Dont wanna touch anything and mess it up before asking you. Maybe you already have a documentation for Salient about this.

You can unassign the font families in the Salient options panel > typography and none will load from Google anymore – you can then use CSS as you wish to define fonts manually and load in from a local file

You should be able to switch into the standard “image background” option for the page header and upload your image – then switch back into the “HTML5 canvas background” option and the particles will be overlaid. Just make sure to leave the “BG Color” option for your particle images blank

It appears your style.css file is outdated (5.5.5) compared to your actual theme version (8.5.5) – there may have been a problem updating depending on the method you used, but essentially you’re just missing needed styles that normally exist in the theme. Try to update your theme again or upload a fresh copy of Salient to sort the issue

I’ve noticed that some times when navigating from one page to another the menu doesn’t stay Dark and Transparent as set, but gets the Light version, making the menu unreadable when on a light coloured/white background. Is it something that can be fixed? I’ve opened a ticket and the ID is #1522511

Hey Squizzo,
All of the strings which Salient adds can be translated via the included .po file within the lang folder. There are many free plugins available to translate these directly in WP, or you could use a premium one such as WPML

I go to the wp_content -> Themes -> Salient -> Lang and open the .po file in the language I need to translate. I change this file, translating correctly the strings, save, generate de .mo, nut when I uplad it, the text NOT FOUND is still in english. What am I doing wrong? is it not he correct .po file?
