Hello, i installed the theme in one domain for testing. Now, I would like to move the finished website (theme, no content) to the other domain name. Should i need an other license? I read above that if it is for testing purpose it is not necessary. What should i do? To download all the theme from themeforest or to copy paste via ftp the files from the old domain name?

There’s no problem with the license if it will be used only for a project. Normally, the Envato policy allows using a theme only on one install. You can, however, use the theme on a sub-domain if you plan on creating a testing site, but if we are talking about totally different sites with different content, then only one theme per install is legally allowed. I suggest you make a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data. Also, I suggest you use the WP Duplicator plugin is your want to migrate it to another domain. Hi! I am using Newspaper theme – in my opinion it’s the useful and well created template. I really miss only one function, but very important in terms of user experience. I show it on this screen: https://image.ibb.co/ga3DpH/screen.jpg
It’s a list of posts. When I click on title or photo – I am able to go to article. But when I click on excerpt of post (a marked it red border) I haven’t any reaction. It is non clickable. I have feedback from my users, that it’s not comfortable. Please, go for example to BBC website – www.bbc.com/news – there all part of news ale clickable.

In order to change the footer content, you will have to change the footer template from the default one so you do not have any predefined content. Then you can use the 3 footer sections in the WordPress widgets area to add content blocks to your footer. In searching for a new theme, I came across this latest version of Newspaper and was blown away. It has everything. I was about to purchase it and realised I did buy the original Newspaper theme a long time ago. Lol. So I will be downloading this latest version and installing it as my theme for my website. Unfortunately, support that I did not use has expired.
There are two things/features that I did not see in the demo that I would like or know if it is possible to do. The first is MailChimp integration. Most modern new themes have the MailChimp form integration, either on the sidebar, on the page, or in the footer. If you do not have the MailChimp this would be a great integration.
Also for the video playlist, it would be nice if the video playlist is of the post on my website that includes the video category or video tag. My current theme does this, and it would be cool if the video playlist plays the videos from the post on my website and when you click on the title it goes to the post. That is the only two features I see missing for now that I would like.

Two more things. Does this theme use a page builder and if so, what page builder? If possible, can you give some live websites that are using this theme?

Thank you for your appreciation. You can use mailchimp shortcoeds in a text widged so the form will show up on the front-end. Most plugin shortcodes can be implemented through text widgets. I am working on the Newspaper Theme for a Client. They have requested that the ’ related articles ’ post count is 6.
Currently it’s set to 3 / 5 depending on the sidebar.
How would I go about changing the related articles from 3 / 5 to 3 / 6? Im just unsure which line of code to edit.

Sorry but our theme layout does not support a 6 posts for the related articles. It will only support 3 or 5 and there is no simple way of altering this functionality. Sorry but we cannot offer any solution in this regard. You will have to hire a freelancer to help out with the code if this is a must have for your client.

Hello,
I would like to be sure about something related to the Featured Images in the artcles with this theme. Currently, the theme I’m using allow me to upload an image (ex: 1200×500) and this image will be resized to 660×400 in the article. That way, all articles have their featured image at the same size.
I noticed that in your theme, the width is fixed for the featured image, but not for the height. Is it something that can be easily added with a code ?

The height is not fixed in our theme because we do not want to cut images or change their aspect ratio. It depends on the featured image you use. The thumbnail is 696×0 which means ‘fixed width but maintain aspect ratio’. https://www.screencast.com/t/XznntzjTI If you want to change this thumbnail, you can try to change it with a 696×385 thumb if you want to get the same height https://www.screencast.com/t/5Zkuxrt03Y but please note this is not tested so it can provide issues with images. There is no official solution tested and recommended for altering the featured image size.

Anything beyond this list is not tested and I cannot say for sure if it will work or not.

How can I change the view count to read “125K”, instead of “125000” ?

I am working on this theme for a client, they currently have both Newspaper and Newsmag on their blogs.
They have asked me to stop the Video Posts from Automatically getting a Youtube Thumbnail.
I recall seeing a post once on this forum, but I can’t find it anymore, so I was wondering if you could help me.
What line of code do I need to change to stop Video Posts Getting a Thumbnail from Youtube, They want to use their own featured image on video posts.

Social media buttons conform to GDPR law We are using Newspaper incl. social media buttons. The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO) requires that: - the including of social media buttons needs a 2-click confirmation by the user This is since the social media plugins already transfer user data to a third party (e.g. Facebook) although the user does not even click on those. The requested solution is that the user is asked if he agrees to include social media plugin buttons. Only after this agreement-click social media buttons are included – otherwise not. Is this already possible? If not, when could you make Newspaper conform to the European law?

This is a great theme and it was money well spent!
Recently I’ve had some troubles, though. It’s enough for someone to use the search function on my website for the whole website to crash. Same goes for when I am changing the position on the main menu – the whole site goes down.
When it goes down it gives the “HTTP error 500”. I contacted my host about this and they say that the reason is that the themes “search function is badly coded, so when someone uses it it takes up too much bandwidth”.
In other means, they say that the theme is somewhat “badly coded”, which results in small things like using the search function ends up in me using too much bandwidth from my shared host. As a result the site goes down for 15-30 minutes.
The website I am talking about is startvikt dot se.
Could you please advise on this?

We did not have similar reports with the theme search function. The search is based on the default WordPress functionality so there should be no problems.
Please check the theme system status and make sure there are enough resources allocated

The performance of the theme and theme plugins will be directly affected by those parameters. The WP memory should be at least as recommended in the guide.
If this is still a problem after making modifications as mentioned, you could disable the theme search in the theme panel, and maybe consider using a search plugin. Make tests with that and see how things change.

I am running my website and theme on the recommended WP memory settings (64 MB).
I also searched in this comment section and can see that a lot of other people have the same issue. So perhaps my host is correct that there is something with how the theme is coded?
The issue is not isolated to the search function either, but also when I make changes in the main menu.
If you have any suggestions on possible solutions, please let me know.

The theme can be installed and activated on a single website according to Envato license terms. Re-installing the theme on the same domain or a different domain (as long as this means one website) that will not be a problem, you can activate the theme again in that case.

If you simply switched to using a different theme, this should not reset the theme activation. Switch to the Newspaper theme again and check it. If the theme is not activated there will be a message displayed prompting you to activate it.

Hi there. Within the comments, when viewed on a tablet, every single comment has a large comment box with the “post comment” button. This takes up way too much space and makes it hard to read the comments. How can I make the UX the same as on desktop within the comments display?

Seems that the post comment box appears after each comment for you, that would not be the intended behaviour. Maybe there were modifications to the default comments, or they are affected by a plugin. That could be related to insufficient resources, I would suggest that you contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase the allocated resources according to the theme requirements mentioned here
