Hello, I am trying to find the option how can install the child theme but there is not in your tutorial. I also upload the theme via FTP and there is not option in Appearance > Themes for child theme install. Let me know please. Thanks

The child theme must be created. It is not provided by default. You can find a sample child thee under the main theme package newspaper-tf/code . If you do not plan to make PHP file modifications, you do not need a child theme. What are you planing on using it for?

For css only, you do not need a child theme. The theme provides a custom code section where you can place your css code that will not be removed when updating the theme: https://www.screencast.com/t/rRBuym6Su You really do not need a child theme for this purpose. The only purpose for a child the is to alter the theme php files. If you do not plan on doing so, you do not need a child theme.

Hi, I think there is 1 bug in the theme currently with the infinity load:
Here is the step to reproduce it:- Make 1 category with 2-3 sub categories that have more than 5 or 10 posts that might have the same more than 2 sub categories (depends on your post per page setting).
- Apply the infinity load in the theme category setting.
- After that, try changing the primary sub categories in posts.
- Either the urls of posts in category listing (after infinity loading) won’t take primary category setting in posts or they don’t change/appear the primary category at all.
When switching to normal pagination, all settings are correctly displayed in category listing.
Please have a look. For now, my site can only use normal pagination to keep the correct url structure. But I still prefer to use infinite load.
I am using the latest version of the theme.

Hi tagDiv, my website is running the theme of v 6.7 and get hacked by code injection to “YOUR HEADER AD”, “Custom Javascript”, “Custom HTML”, etc in theme panel. Seem the Version 6.7.2 would fix the issue, could you send me the hotfix for it? Thanks!

Unfortunately using very old versions of the thee will have such consequences. We recommend updating the theme to the latest version instead of just 6.7.2. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then update the theme plugins: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/ We cannot provide such old versions of the theme as we discourage their use exactly for the purpose you mentioned here. 6.7.2 fixed that particular security breach, yes, but you should also consider there were 2 more security patches since then that you need to use right now. They were implemented in newspaper 7.1 and newspaper 8.1.1 so that is Why we can only recommend the latest version of the theme so we can ensure it’s proper functionality and security.

In order to remove the word ‘category’ from links, you will have to use seo by yoast and remove it from the titles and metas tab of the plugin settings.

Sorry but the theme blocks do not have any options to show the custom content from custom fields. The theme does not have this functionality.

On my home page, the Flex Block 2 item image is bleeding off the left side of my content box into the background even though it’s set inside the flex block 2 element. I’ve tried all kinds of things: padding, margin, alignment, etc., and nothing works. Any ideas?

You added a negative margin left of -100 in the css tab of the tagdiv composer. Please remove the left margin and the image will position properly again. Be mindful of the settings you make in the tagdiv composer.

Thank you. It turns out the negative margin was in the LAYOUT tab, not the CSS tab, which is why I was so confused! But thank you for the lead. It made me find it and remove it and now all is good.
How to remove the box layout.. I want the menu and footer in full stretch… right now there is some gap or padding..

If you use a background image or color, the theme will go into boxed mode and no full width layout is possible in a boxed mode. Please remove your background if you need full width elements. Unfortunately if you need a numbered pagination, the only template that can provide it is the page builder + latest articles. Every block can have pagination but a numbered one is only available on the specific template.

Sorry but there is no simple code modification we can provide for a block numbered pagination. You will have to hire a freelancer to help with the code needed for this to work. i will add this as a suggestion for future updates but this request needs to become more popular if we are to consider implementing it into our themes. We get lots of requests and have to prioritize based on popularity.

Hi guys,
Awesome theme and im loving it. Just one thing i cant figure out though. I want my posts in a selected catagory to just display randomly. I select random posts in the filter section but always the same posts display.
Any idea what im doing wrong?

If you select random posts in a filter but they do not change upon reload, it probably means the cache is still holding the current posts. You will have to clear the cache in order to see the posts change. We can only recommend using wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
