in the top area the theme only offers one widget area and its located on the right hand side. Another way to insert content would be using child theme and the theme’s extensive action hooks and filters support. With hooks and filters you can easily insert content including shortcodes.

just follow the demo import wizard available through the U-Design → Import Demo Data menu. It’s also explained in the documentation.

If you purchased the theme before Sept. 1st, 2015 then your supported status in the forum should be “Grandfathered”, if you purchased the theme after that date then your support is expired and you need to purchase additional support to get it. It’s just how ThemeForest.net support policy is.
We do not provide support in this area here.
I’ll just give you a quick answer to your menu question. The menu cannot be different for mobile.

Those are ThemeForest.net (Envato) rules, not mine about the support policy, nothing I can do about it.
My theme is working fine, other users do not have the issues you’re mentioning. What you want to do with the menu requires custom work as this isn’t a feature offered by U-Design. Something like this could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. Please be advised that as per the ThemeForest Support Policy the provided support is limited strictly to the theme’s default features or any technical issues with the default theme.
The logo should work fine for responsive layouts unless you did something to break the layout, I can only determine that if I examine the site, which I asked you to post in the support forum.

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I had checked the forum, but had not found the posting regarding the fields needing to be deleted. I ended up updating the theme successfully using Manual Method Update #1. After receiving the above link and reading the post, I returned to my dashboard and found that the fields referenced in the post no longer exist. I have a screen shot if you’d like to see it. Was that something the theme’s update took care of or was it something the Envato Market plugin update fixed? It would be interesting to know why it disappeared without me taking any steps on my own. Thank you again!
The fields were missing because you already updated the theme, going over that release 2.13.18 I switched the update method hence the fields went missing, but for most users the trick to avoid any issues doing the transition was to clear those fields. In your case you don’t have to worry about it now

not sure, I’ve never heard of this plugin before. The thing is if a plugin follows best WordPress coding practices then there is no reason why it should not be compatible with themes that also followed that practice.

Hi, I used the uDesign theme to create a website for a client. In https://themeforest.net/licenses/faq#use-product-for-client-a it says I can transfer the license to my client. But how do I do this, so the customer can e.g. make future theme updates himself? I also have another project I took over from another freelancer who used uDesign. So I would also need the license key from him, so I can do the updates now. How does this work? The other freelancer told me, I need to buy new license, since the one he used to create the website is connected to his themeforest account. What should we do? Thanks for your help, Martina

Hi, yes, just reverse the changes, remove the code that you added in the header and it should go back to normal, another way to do this is to simply replace the theme’s “header.php” with a fresh copy of that file.

I would love to be able to stop the annoying default WP format filtering in the editor.

For the private classes part you need a plugin for that, it is not something a theme can offer, it is plugin territory Currently, I cannot offer you a plugin because I’ve not done any research recently, it’s best to do your own research and evaluate all the features a plugin offers to your needs.

Andon, Rob at Envato Hosted just confirmed that there is a problem with version 2.0.1 of their Envato Market plugin that is preventing U-Design from updating on many servers. He said:
“We’ve identified an issue as a result of the information that you’ve provided so far. The maintenance team behind the plugin will be working on a solution and we hope to have it addressed in the next version.
For now if you need to update. I would recommend manual updates. The author of any particular theme may be able to offer guidance if required.

I have installed the updated theme today and the comments field has vanished even though all settings are enabled. Have you had this flagged as an issue?
no, no issues with the comments fields that I’m aware of. Try disabling some plugin, possibly it’s a conflict with a third party plugin of sorts.

Ok so I’ve purchased this awesome theme countless times… I have API keys with envato, to hook up with my sites to do the theme update
on all of my sites now its giving me an error of an improper url or something so it will not update the theme any longer
just wondered if your knowing anything about this and or know of a fix?

Hi, I’m interested in this your template but I have some doubts about seo frendly. I tried to analyze https://udesigntheme.com/demos/business/ with GTmetrix. How easy is the site layout PageSpeed Score C (74%) and YSlow Score D (62%) how is it possible? If getting this result with such a simple layout with other layouts will be even worse, am I wrong? How can I be sure that your theme works well for speed and optimizing seo? Thank you

this particular demo has just been added and I’ve not done any optimization to it of any kind, so it’s not a good indicator.

It has 99% Performance grade:

and it’s a more complex layout and in addition has a slider.
For SEO, I’ve not installed any SEO plugins like Yoast for example to any of my demos, what’s important is the theme structure for SEO something a SEO plugin cannot change, so the theme offers great SEO structure (headings, content order, document titles, etc), the rest will be tweaked by a SEO plugin of your choice.
In general, I’ve only received very positive feedback from clients using the theme and their SEO ratings. They say their websites’ ratings have improved significantly since using the theme. That’s been my own personal experience as well.

Hi! Which format of an image can I use for Header area background and it will work also on mobile phone? I tried with png, 2x.png and jpg formats…they all worked on the computer but on mobile phone there was just grey color that appeared.

section background images are removed for mobile because they can create more problems then help. You will have to manually define those images the way you want them targeting specific breakpoints. Email me and I’ll give you a CSS template which you can use to target specific responsive breakpoints for the theme. You can send me an email through my Profile page.

Most likely JavaScript related issue, possibly a conflict of sorts. Try disabling some third party plugins and see if you could find which one is causing the conflict.
