I am kind of sad to be receiving this answer, actually. I think what you don’t understand is that not everyone is using the theme as a personal bolg or something. In a lost of cases, you will have users editing posts on a customized backend and that message is a sign of non-professionalism and a mental indication that something is wrong even if it isn’t!

Thanks for your message. To update you just need to remove the old version of the theme either by FTP or via WP Admin > Appearance > Themes. Then upload the new version.

No data is lost during this as your articles, settings etc are stored in the database.

It is recommended you backup beforehand.
