Where are you wanting to post a video? Inside the post content? If so, simply paste the url into the content and it should automatically work. If you mean a Video post format type post, then make sure you have the Zeen Engine plugin enabled.

It worked, I completely started from scratch and it worked. Weird that it didn’t work before.
Now I have a new ‘issue’, on every device I have (macbook, windows 10 pc) it shows a horizontal scrolling bar on my website. And when I scroll to the right, it shows a blank area “next” to my website. If you visit my website www.doelpnt.nl you can see what I mean.
Ah that was a bug in early version please update to latest version, which is v1.0.7 (although v1.0.8 will be out in a few hours, so maybe wait for that) and it’ll be fixed

not with an issue, but a question.
I have the Buddypress and Youzer plugin enabled (youzer is a paid plugin for membership). And I want to edit the login/registration popup from the Zeen template.
- When you click on the account popup in the menu which says login / signup, I want the login screen to stay, but when you click on registration, it should go to my registration page. Is that possible?
- If you’re logged in and click on the account popup in the menu I want to add different links. Is that also possible?

The registration link is a good question, and an option was just added in the theme options > Login with ajax to change it to any registration page you want, so if you set one and a user clicks to register, they will be redirected to your page Will be part of v1.0.9 update.
Also added a way to add custom links to the logged in panel, check documentation for instructions (under the How To section) and it will also be possible in v1.0.9

Thanks for the interest in Zeen. But I’m not sure what you are referring to, do you mean you click a post on the homepage? Can you give me the exact steps to recreate it? Because if I go on the homepage and click on a post, it just opens that post.
If you have discovered a bug, of course it will be fixed. v1.0.5 will be out in a few hours, if you let me know before that and it is a bug, it could get fixed for then too.

Ah that is a theme feature called “auto load new post”, you can turn it off in the Theme Options if with one click if you don’t want it on

Great theme, but i have a question. I need to be able to hide all child posts from tipi queries. Ex: adding post_parent = 0 somewhere. Maybe a function to do that? Or where is the main Query called? File location?

Hi ! This new theme is amazing. I’m still playing and exploring the features… I looove it.
Please find below a few suggestions for next updates and questions…
1. Handy CSS customization within the Tipi Builder. I agree with “BEAUTEZINE” about this : « Do you think it’s possible to add a custom CSS panel to the Tipi Builder? I know that it’s there in the options panel, but it would definitely be helpful to have it in the builder too so you can avoid going back and forth between the builder and the theme options panel. Not essential… but just something I’ve had to do a lot while customizing my elements further :) »
2. Could you give me a hint to hide properly (display:none) the video logo overlay on grids (for video posts), or list of posts, or other blocks listing the posts in Tipi Builder, for desktop and for mobile, because that round white circle covers my titles / meta lines when inside the picture…
3. About that nice video player overlaying image header in posts : as I’m migrating from Valenti, which offers similar feature, It would have been nice to get the video embed code imported inside Zeen at the same place… Now, I have to copy-paste each video URL or embed iframe I had in Valenti in the new Zeen video header container… Tedious. I guess it could be done by the theme itself as that embed code is still registered in the post custom fields…
4. It could be nice to have somewhere in Theme Options a panel to had lines of code in the header… I would like to use Fontawesome and I’m still struggling to add it. I’ve read that I have to copy and paste that line in my Header Section : <link rel=”stylesheet” href=”https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css”> Could you help me with that ?
5. In Category Page (page listing posts from the same category) it would be nice to have the Category Byline Meta hidden by default or a check box to hide it (as we don’t really need that byline because all posts listed there are supposed to be in that same category).

1- Yeah it’s something that is going to be strongly considered, Codetipi themes are all about making it easy, and the first thought was to keep all custom css in one place, but maybe for the Tipi Builder it could be handy to have it there too.
2- Happy to hear you got it sorted
3- Ah no, there is a way to make it all instant! If you wait a few hours I will update the documentation with some quick steps you can follow to update them.
4- Things that go in the header are usually important things that you want to load even if you change themes in the future, so for that reason the best solution is to use a lightweight plugin that does that, so you set your analytics code, etc, once and it’s there forever, even if you change themes in the future. Here is one good one:

1- The related posts after the post content option is disabled in some demos, but you can have it like that, here is one demo with it on:

2- Yeah you don’t have to have a footer if you don’t want one, and there are multiple designs to choose from. If you see a copyright location you like, then yeah I’m sure you can adjust the width – which do you want to change, and to what?

I have a question (and maybe some more in the next couple of days as I’m making progress in switching from Valenti to Zeen): Is there a way to disable the “Share to Facebook” and “Tweet” Buttons from that menu that includes the Reading-Mode button? Somehow I cannot figure out how to disable that. Thank you for any tip! And good luck with the sales.

Another question: If I use the lightbox for (Youtube) videos – will the Youtube servers be contacted on page load or not before the lightbox opens? I’m wondering because of the GDPR…

1- Yes, the reading was a late addition to the theme, which is why it is only in one location. It will be possible to have it in other locations in a future update
2- You already can Go to the theme options > Posts, and if you enable the Infinite post load option, you’ll get an option to make them load “global posts/from same category”
3- In v1.0.5, all video urls in video posts will now be converted to the nocookie version, so the videos will be loaded with “privacy-enhanced mode” by default now. That would cover videos that open in lightboxes, inside video posts and Tipi Builder video player block.
And unless the video is visible on load (some video post designs), then no YouTube server is contacted at all, it all happens on user interaction (such as click to open in lightbox).

2: This is what I have set up at the moment. The problem is: I have a lot of categorys with a lot of child categorys in it. For example: I have a category “Music” and in this category a child category “U2”. The infinite post load option loads everything from the “Music” category, but it would be a bit more useful if I could tell the theme on a per post base from which category it should load more posts. In this case: only other postings categorized (or tagged) with “U2”.
3: This sounds fantastic! Zeen is getting better and better! Thank you.
2- Oh I see! I don’t think a per-post system would be realistic though, that could be a huge amount of data added to the database and would be really manual! However, if your post is only in the U2 category, then it should only load from U2, not Music. Can you confirm if that post is only under U2 (and music category is not ticket)?
3- It’s no problem, Zeen will keep improving more and more, so expect loads more updates!

My problem is: a post is not only in the “U2” category. It is in “Music” also, because of the way I have organized my posts and built my blog with Zeen. I have a lot of topics that I edit on my blog, therefore the subdivision into categories and subcategories. Ah I see! In that case, if you install SEO by Yoast, you will find a “primary” category option that you can set in each post. Then in a future update, I can make the the theme detect for that and use that, that’s probably the smartest way to solve this
Sounds great. I’m using The SEO Framework, which seems to have a similar function, but will switch (back) to Yoast when that function you mentioned is implemented into Zeen.

I think I have reached a point where I need to know if it can be done or implemented in the future.
1. In the Main Menu (where the icons go) have the possibility to add a custom menu there.
2. In the Secondary Menu, the same, have a personalized menu on the right side and not only on the left, and have a vertical drop-down menu for sub content.
The second one is important because I would like to add items in the menu so that the user can access their profile and other useful links.
3. Add fontawesome icons or images in the titles of the blocks.
4. Customize the style of the grids, sliders and classics block individually in the tipi builder when it is added in the blocks to give it a unique style in certain areas.
5. More customization options for the Video Player’s block, such as color change, orientation of the elements (show them vertically when you are in a sidebar block) and also show the last video in miniature.
6. How can I make the Youtube videos not appear muted when I give them play?

edit gallery mode displays a post gallery images as well as a menu link to add to gallery …
in edit gallery mode a user can click on a post gallery image and view the attachment details
the user can then do the following:
1. edit the image
2. edit the caption, alt text, and description
3. delete the image …

so I’ve been playing with the theme and notice few things I wasnt aware of before.
- It seems that Tipi Builder is only available for pages ? Why can’t we also have it for posts ? I need to be able to fully customize my posts as well.
- Inside Tipi builder, you have a Custom block, where we can add any codes. The problem is that it is stripping the codes, even simple HTML doesnt work. It’s necessary to have a block where we can add anything we want (Adsense, html and other…)
I also have more specific issues that I added to Tipi Support.

Sure thing:
1- The Tipi Builder is for pages/categories/tags/custom taxonomies. Posts was an idea in the early days, but because of Gutenberg (WordPress 5.0), it was better to let Gutenberg take care of the posts + with Zeen’s theme options to create beautiful posts. Tipi Builder can take care of the rest. Gutenberg eventually will also do Homepages, but the truth is that is far away from now and even when it comes, it won’t be able to create the layouts the Tipi Builder was made to do, so this is why Zeen and Tipi Builder have ended up how they are now
2- In the Custom Block you can use custom code, but for security reasons it has to be via a shortcode. You can do it with this free plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcoder/ Set your ad code there and then paste the shortcode into the custom code block.

But I need to be able to customize posts as much as possible not just pages! It was one of main reasons I purchased the theme 
1- So if I cannot have Tipi Builder in Post then I still need Visual Composer! Otherwise how can you have fully custom posts (not the Zeen pre-designed layouts!) I dont have Guttenberg, dont want to install it now and it’s not enough powerful for me.
Is it an option we could have in the future? Would be great to have the option in the Customizing > Posts – to choose to activate Tipi Builder for posts!
2- I dont understand why it is called Custom code ? You are telling me that to just add simple HMTL like <center> Title here </center> or just DIVs like HELLO or JS I need to install the plugin and then create a shortcode everytime ??
3- It is a bit unclear how to customize the categories layout with Tipi builder? (Nothing to been seen on the category edit pages)

1- Can I ask what kind of layouts are you building for your posts? You can definitely use VC if you want to use it for posts, but if you show me show examples of what you need to build, maybe I can think of a better/future-proof solution.
2- Ah no, shortcodes are only for ad code which use special code such as JavaScript, basic HTML such as divs should work fine.
But just a by the way, center wouldn’t work because that element is now obsolete and shouldn’t be used anymore: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/center
To center an element you could use<div class="tipi-center">text here</div>
But it sounds like you’re arranging actual text content here, is that so? If so, why not use the Text + headings block, you can use the toolbar inside of it to easily center/bold/italic/links/etc in there.
3- Oh right, simply go edit your category in Posts > Categories and you should see a big Tipi Builder button to launch it in there.

Ok, thank you for your answer:
1- The layouts are fully customs and always different depending on the type of article, so I cannot show you examples.
Now, problems: when I have a VC post, in the infinite scroll post, the theme is not reading it well and shows the codes ( see here https://imgur.com/a/IvPGqXW) I noticed it showing the VC codes as well on the category page: https://imgur.com/a/IvPGqXW
I can hide it with the More tag, not ideal, but then you cannot access the post (the more tag links doesnt seem to work there) – It would be great if the infinite scroll post shows the full VC layout on next post.
Best will be if there’s a way to deactivate the more tag functionality?
2- Ok, if it is just the Ads codes and it doesnt strip the HTML then it is fine
3- Yes, that is where I went, looked everywhere, it wasnt there, but now it is! Great option

1- Ah VC scripts need to re-loaded with each infinite scroll, this is possible, but we need to identify the scripts it uses. Can you please ask the VC people the following:
“I am loading posts content via ajax, but it appears broken. What files (I need exact the filepath within the plugin) from VC need to be reloaded after the ajax to display them properly?”
And report back the answer, then I can show you how to do that.

So as far as VC issue with Ajax, you will definitely have other users that will have the issue. Here’s what the VC support is saying:
“It is required to use WPBMap::addAllMappedShortcodes(); function in the template before do_shortcode method if it is outptut via ajax.”

Thanks for the kind words
1- There is no typography page as you can control all the sizes/fonts, so it would be different for every user!
And there are no shortcodes in Zeen because shortcodes are going to completely abandoned by WordPress in v5 onwards. With the new Gutenberg it will all be about “blocks”, so it’s best themes stop using shortcodes as much as possible to make it easier for users in the future.
2- You can still install your favorite shortcode plugin though, so you can easily have tooltip/dividers/boxes/etc in your posts. But in Gutenberg these will be blocks so you would be using those instead in the future.
3 There is numbered pagination option, here is one demo using it on the homepage:

5- There is a default Categories widget that comes with WordPress, so yeah you can use that.
6- Yeah, “kbd” elements are styled nicely in Zeen.

8- The theme doesn’t have specific options for the font sizes of the titles inside grids, as the theme makes it all super-responsive. However, you can add many grids if you want, make sure to watch this video:

You’re right, a darker button with white text would look nicer, so I tweaked the styling of kbd and will include it in the next theme update (released later today). I added a kbd around “ctrl” in the dummy text, so it will look like this now:

Yeah, you can definitely customize that easily by adding custom css, it’s super easy, you’d simply add this to the theme options > Additional CSS option:

That would make it black with a dark grey border, but of course you can change the color values to your desired ones.

11- Yeah, the main archive block in the Tipi Builder can have numbered pagination.
12- Yes, all those blocks are from the Tipi Builder, you can mix + match them all when you build your own.
13- Yes, the theme does not include shortcodes for those things. There will be a global dropcap option in the theme options (on/off) to automatically add a dropcap to the first letter of all posts.
Shortcodes should always be made by a plugin, because if a theme adds them, the moment you switch themes you will have a massive headache because all those old posts you created with shortcodes now need to be edited to change the shortcodes. If you use a plugin to do them, then you can change them and the shortcodes will continue to work as normal. There are loads of free plugins for those things, as they are all quite basic too.
The Let’s Review plugin which comes bundled in with the theme does have a buttons shortcode to let you create affiliate buttons, as seen here: https://demos.codetipi.com/letsreview/top-x-lists/ (that is the Let’s Review official demo site and is using a different theme though)
14- It depends on the feature, if it’s realistic and helps a lot of other users, then it is likely to be added. All suggestions are considered though.
15- I’m not sure what you mean by this one, what kind of functionality do you think your site would need? If you see it in the demos, you can do it 100%.
