Hi guys,

I’am using Ark on 2 sites and updating them regularly but I randomly faced a bug that repeated more than 3 times recently. The front-end view of the site got broken completely after saving the session in some cases. Usually I don’t check the front end after making minor text updates at the backend. So unfortunately at the backend I didn’t realize anything abnormal to know when exactly the case repeated.

As far as I remember the crashed view is a distorted view of the last edited page. Nothing on the header or header menu is clickable. The links on the body and footer was working.

Could you please check the source and let me know what could be wrong? Is there anything I may do to avoid it? The next time I may try to get a backup of the crashed site.

Hi v1usr1!

This is usually one or a combination of the following, in this order:

1) Caching plugin, hosting caching, CDN caching

2) WordPress core bug

3) Poor server configuration

The last 2 being very rare, but the 1st one being a real possibility so please try to deactivate any caching for the time being and see if the issue comes back. If it won’t then you can start re-activating some caching features one by one to see when it breaks again, revealing the weak point.

Would love to assist here ,but it is almost impossible for me to figure out anything from the source code, especially when it is created as an image and not as an plain text (so I cannot use search :-( )

However, I’m 99% sure, that this is not error with Ark theme, rather than other 3rd party plugins.

1.) Check, if the “Fresh Performance Cache” plugin is active – if so, then please de-activate it, as it is no longer supported. I would recommend you to use a “WP Autoptimize” plugin instead

2.) If this does not help, then please try to de-activate all 3rd party plugins.

3.) If this does not help as well, please go to WP Admin -> Ark -> Dashboard and try to delete the front-end builder cache.

Hi again,

I’ve detected some bugs with your theme:

1. Sometimes the number pagination on the Portfolio Archive appears and sometimes it dissapears…even if it’s activated. What happens?

2. There are too some other conflicts with visualization on the frontpage with the layouts. It seems that if you select “Visual” on the Ark’s layout text options some CSS show different that if you select and save the same page with “Text” option activated…

May you solve this bugs definitely?

1.) Can you, please, send us also exact URL, where this is happening? It would be best, if you open a ticket and insert your WP and FTP logins there, with exact URL

2.) Same here, I’m not able to 100% understand, what do you mean by “Visualization”. But please send us the page URL through the ticket and also include a more detailed description of the problem

I just purchased, installed and now see I can’t save my 1st page. It saves but you not see anything live or preview. Even just adding 1 image does nothing. Seems the same thing as @ThomasWals

Yes, it looks like the same thing, here is a copied reply: Please use the Quick Save for now to save the builder content. We are working on an update that will solve this issue very soon.

Why my Purchase Code dont work on Advanced Custom Fields PRO i can not updated new version?!

Only we can distribute the latest version of that plugin, in order to ensure it is still compatible with everything first, saving you a potential headache in case they would make incompatible changes to their code. Due to this overhead you will always be a little behind but safe. If you insist on updating it yourself for any reason, you can purchase a license code directly from them in order to use their update servers to download the bleeding edge. But I don’t recommend that as there are hardly any worthwhile changes in their incremental updates, you could easily use a year old version and probably not feel the difference (excluding WP compatibility itself). It is a very stable piece of code since it’s pretty much feature complete by now.

I’ve got some problems with updating my pages.

My changes will not be saved and made when I update my pages. Saving with the ‘quick save’ button is no promlem. My changes only disappear when updating the Wordpress page itself.

When I look at the Facebook page the latest post is dated Sept 18, 2018 and refers to V1.39.0. The current version is 1.41.

So much for updating the Facebook page daily, you aren’t even updating it monthly.

How do I remove/hide the search and hamburger menu on the top right navigation. I uses the Demo Corporate Layout 1 and cant seem to remove them from the Ark>header>etc…

The menu settings and logo can be changed in WP Admin -> Ark -> Headers -> Your header name.

If you are doing the edits but do not see any results, then:

A.) You are editing the wrong header

B.) You are using some kind of caching plugin

Want to build a library of elements for use across pages? NO! The answer I just got from the CEO Tomas Herudek is “it’s too hard to program in Fresh Builder”. Even copy/paste is not supported – sections ghost out or do not copy. WHAT?? Building a library of templates or containers is standard issue for most themes. RIDICULOUS!

We did not market this feature anywhere. I’m not able to understand one thing – if this feature is essential for you, why you did not ask us before purchasing the theme? We would easily provide you with information, that custom element library is not integrated and you can avoid your pain, time waste, and frustration.

Other than that, do you perceive this 1-star rating, you credited us, as a fair? From my POV it is ridiculous – after 10 years in the business and countless years in self-development, I learned the one thing – you have to be very thorough. This is the way we operate and if you are not thorough, it leads exactly to these situations – where you invest in a product which is not suiting your needs and you are wasting your time.

This, of course, happens. But it is YOUR responsibility to make the research first, not OUR responsibility, that this one particular function, which is critical for you, is not implemented in our theme.

It would be fair to credit us with 1-star rating if we are doing any obstructions here. For example, if we do not want to give you your money back. Simply claim for the refund and you will be all set.

Now, you opened your negotiation here with utterly hostile behavior, where you are commanding me and instantly taking us down with the rating. This also means that you do not have any plan here, you are just frustrating your anger on me, instead of leading productive negotiation. I recently read this book https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Win_Friends_and_Influence_People and I would really, really recommend you to check it out. Because believe or not, I’m just a person too and when someone ventilates anger on me, it does not make me happy too.

I’m from Europe and I know, that there are lot of cultural differencies between our mentality. I have never been in USA, but I believe that you have a strong “Customer First” approach. But from $25, we get exactly $14.87. My hourly rate is $90 and I have more than 10 years of experience. So it would be a little bit naive to expect a $90/hr service for $25 payment.

Other than that – we would, of course, love to have a user created element library, but it would cost us close to hundred of hours to implement this functionality and we do not plan to do it in the near future.

So I would l ike to lead a constructive debate:

A.) Grab your refund https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new

B.) Accept the fact, that you did not make your thorough research and dont blame us

Despite your personal attack “cultural differences”, I did say positive things about your theme “a cut above”. I am also a published author/artist so I sympathize with you. I’ve updated my review with pros and cons list and it’s 2 stars. Can’t go higher since you choose to go low and get personal with USA reference.

I can see you’re stressed and I do feel sorry about that. I have 3 licenses (2 for smaller sites) so only asked for refund of Liberty’s as it falls short for only that site. Not sure if I will continue to build with your theme as I really need reliable cut/paste in order to scale the site. Didn’t research custom template library as this feature has been included in the 100+ themes that I, my web dev teams or my 240 students have used over the last 9 years.

It would be useful for me, if you could give me some feedback, about why do you feel attacked? So next time I can avoid behaviour like this.

We have currently pulled that plugin in favor of another plugin called “autoptimize”. Please use that one. You can simply download it free from WordPress plugin repository.

Ark is already compatible with WP 5.0 from the beginning. Sadly, Envato is notoriously slow with adding these new version tags. So I just added the version to the official theme description.

hey kudos on great theme, I just bought it and I am satisfied,I wonder how hard it is to strip not needed code and css when I am done with my web site, a lot of css will be left unused for example

It’s okay, the theme really is perfect, or near-perfect, I am just curious would be too much to track down styling that is not needed, for example form styles, etc.. that’s okay though.

I got one more quick one though, I am looking everywhere but can not find how to disable set font in theme options or anywhere else, obviously it is generated because in CSS files I can not find it, default is “Roboto”; I want to use Custom Font, but want to set it up in CSS file like body { font-family: my font; } Could use !important but would rather not if possible

Personally, and this may be a little strange, I handle custom fonts like this:

1) Register a custom font but not use the Theme Options to include the files because I want to be able to write my own (full) code (I am a dev), hence the ”#never-delete-this-text-string” trick. Without this trick, you would not be able to pick this font in Fresh Builder popup windows (tab “Typography” and others).

Also, notice that even though I name the font “custom-font-1” in Theme Options, it is still called “custom-font-family-1” internally (=in code). Just something to keep in mind, especially if you will want to include more than 2 font families, then it will be “custom-font-family-2” internally.

We have been trying to get support for a week. We have followed up several times and still no response. Does support still exist for this theme or no? We pushed our site live last week and fresh builder doesn’t work. We can’t even edit crucial elements like footers, headers, etc.. We really need somebody to respond to our messages.

We are still sending follow ups to our ticket and have not heard any responses. We have been trying to reach someone for 10 days now and nothing.

So once we finally got a response, there was no help. Just wanted to charge us a few hundred dollars just to look. That is NOT support.

I’m sorry about your experience right now. Support is usually answering within 24 hours, but we got vacation through this Christmas, so you run into the only time of the year, when the support wasn’t available within 24 hours.

Back to your request – you basically did a migration of your site from domain A to domain B and you screw something up. Figuring out, what you screw up would take us at least 3 hours, most probably much more. This is out of the scope of support, but we are here, ready to help. I offered you a brand new migration, done directly by us, where you can be 100% sure, that the things will work out. The compensation for our time is $240, which is one of the cheapest migration you service you can actually run into.

Your response was hate response, where you are telling us, that you will not be our client anymore and you will make sure, that we will be losing clients because of your actions.

So, after crediting us with a 1-star rating, because we will not work for you for free, do you consider this behavior fair?
