Dear Salient Team,
In my Product page, when I have more photos for one product (a product gallery) the photos are all displayed at once, and the user needs to scroll down and see all the photos in the gallery. I would like it to be more like a carousel, when the user clicks on the thumbnail and then sees the photo clicked.
How can I achieve this?

*Edit: What is more on mobile, when those same photos are clicked, the photo doesn’t change and it always remains the main image chosen for the specific product

Hello, I have the theme for a long time for my agency. Unfortunately, I no longer have support to write tickets. Since the Wordpress update I can not use the normal text editor! Unfortunately, I can not edit the text or add a new one. The Gutenberg Editor is disabled as described in the documentation. Will this be fixed on the next update? Or can one help me? Howdy! A site built using salient is suuper slow: especially on mobile. Google insights is listing the mobile version of the site as critically slow to the point it’s impacting SEO. I’ve followed everything I could from my end based on Googles suggestions, but it looks like some of this is baked into the theme. Hey Liyte It looks like you could still defer the js assets as well as minify/combine them. The css assets also appear to still be separate – combining them will reduce the number of requests as well.

Hello, I have implement the megamenu concept by putting the “megamenu columns-4” in the CSS Classes of the Parent menu item. But my result does not look like what you have here under Regular Mega Menu http://themenectar.com/docs/salient/mega-menu/. The box that surrounds my items does not extend like the “black box” around yours. My box cuts off my items and there is no space between items so headings and sub headings are running into each other. I’m thinking there needs to be some default system to either turn on or off so box automatically fits around content and there is ample padding between items. Hopefully I have explain it in a way you can understand so you can hopefully show/tell me how to make it look like yours. If you need me to do a screenshot I would be happy to do so just let me know – I am working on a staging site until I can sort this out. Thank You

Hello, Thank You for your reply. My humble apologies – after struggling with trying to get this “menu” to work properly I realized the theme we are using for that site is Flatsome Theme which is different than Salient Theme. (We have our main site using Salient and our Catalog site using Flatsome). I have posted the question on their Flatsome Portal so hopefully I will get some help. Doing research online and nothing brings the solution of how to adjust/style these Flatsome menus so they fit properly. Again – Thank You for you time.

Hello, I’m a little confused – is the Flatsome Theme and Salient Theme related? My problem is existing on the Flatsome Theme we are using for our Catalog Site. There just does not seem to be much formatting available for the Menu Structure I am working on the Main Menu. As I have been waiting for a response I have continued to try to solve our problem. If I have a Child Heading under a Heading – it appears the Child Heading cannot exceed xxx amount of Characters. For instance if I have a Child Heading that is 26 Characters it will run into the next Child Heading, same is true for Child Heading of Child Heading, so I have to figure out how to rename it to fit within allotted space.
Also Child Heading of Child Heading – I do not see any way to indent these items in any of the Flatsome Theme settings. I finally figured out through research (which none of this was found on Flatsome or Salient Themes documentation and it should be there), that you can get it indented if you use code in the Navigation Label. This to me does not seem like a very smart way to handle this – if you have a few items to indent it’s OK but if you have many items to indent, you have to do this on each and every one.
I have also tried several Menu Plugins – and have not liked the way any of them work with the Flatsome Theme Menu. If you have a recommendation – we are open to it.
Basically we are trying to achieve a Mega Menu structure because we have many products for sell and it would be an helpful way to display choices to our customer.
If you need a screenshot let me know – hopefully you have some answer/advice as to how to make the Menu function as we would like it to.

I think this is just for changing the text of the button. What I need is to NOT HAVE the add to cart functionality. All people have to view the single product page before they can add a product to the cart. Understand what I mean?

I just would like to notice that line 162 in salient/nectar/helpers/portfolio.php, I think there’s a mistake. It’s written “if ( ! function_exists( ‘project_single_control’ ) ) {” instead of “if ( ! function_exists( ‘project_single_controls’ ) ) {” : the ’s’ of controls is missing. I have to override this function, so in order to work well I had to add the “s” to controls in the parent theme (which is not a good practice, but I have to do it waiting a fix).

When you’re editing the image gallery/portfolio element within the page builder, look for the option that pertains to the lightbox only functionality. If you already have that enabled, could you kindly share your URL so I can take a look?

give the video a class such as “landing-video” and then add this into the custom css box located in the Salient options panel > general settings > css/script related tab:

I did this but it makes transparent borders (top and bottom of the video) as large as the radius. The video doesn’t fit the entire bloc anymore.

It seems after the latest update the Clients Display section is broken on mobile. It no longer shrinks the client logos into a horizontal slider, but instead it shows all client images directly stacked on top of each other vertically.
Is there a way to fix this?

Disabled W3 Total Cache’s minify JS and the slider seems to work on mobile. Is there perhaps any way to minify the JS but keeping the slider functionality, similar to desktop? Thanks again,
Hey j0nthn, I tried to replicate this on my end but could not get the error to occur when enabling minification from that plugin. Could you try leaving the minifcation off with that and enable it within another plugin such as autoptimize just to verify that it’s not plugin specific?

Hi ThemeNectar, Could you please give me some way to add a short description below the title on the shop catalog page? Like on shop page, all products are present and on it I can see the title and below it I can see the price & when I hover over it changes to price and add to cart button.
Can I just show the short description for each product just below the title and remove the pricing which also shows when I hover on it? (Short description can be fetched from the meta data of single product).
Just give me idea like what file should I edit, right now I can’t even find the file from where HTML is rendering. I did some changes in the wc-product-template.php & functions.php files but nothing is reflecting on the shop page product grid.

Just one more thing, Hovering on the item is not affecting the short description to go up like the price. It is coming above the add to cart button. Please see the image and you will understand.
