Just to let you know, I updated to 3.3.0 today and on my blog index page under the images [read_more text=”Read More”] and [divider] tags are showing in html. no bug, you need to install and activate the “U-Design Core” plugin post 3.3.0 release, some functionality including the shortcodes are now moved to that plugin so you need it. You can remove those from the “Menus Options” section of the theme’s Settings page and more specifically the “Secondary Menu” subsection under the “Menus Options” section.

Hello, I’ve a question about the secondary menu. I already read some questions on the forum and here about the subject but I didt’nt found the answer. I Udesign setting, I found the Menu Option and the place where to change the secondary menu but it’s impossible to drop items in the menu simulator or below, the area to ermove the menu. So, I can’t change the phone number or the socials networks. What can I do ? Thank you !

Updating on the Essential Grid versus the old way is very confusing and more tedious. I liked the short codes that were available before. For Instance, the block settings that we have to work from makes it difficult to insert columns and make them work like before.

the theme’s shortcodes are still available if that’s what you mean. If you recently updated your U-Design theme to v3.3.0 make sure to also install and activate the “U-Design Core” plugin from the theme’s “Related Plugins” page, the themes’ shortcodes have been moved in that plugin, so it’s required.

Hi, my support is over. But still I want to have some support with updating. My menu options top area is not functioning normal anymore. https://d.pr/free/i/ycUSa0. How can I solve this? I never had any problems with this until last update. WP 5.2.1 with U-design 3.3.0

you should probably consider ruling out a conflict with a third party plugin that might be causing this, for that disable all plugins (except the ones required by the theme) and then test it again. If it works then start enabling the plugins one by one and do a test in between until you find the culprit. Don’t forget to clear the caching too if you have any caching plugins installed.

Pre-Sale Questions; I’ve had a look around various videos online but can see no way’s to edit the header section, footer and the bottom area? and how to do this on say Ubuild example. The Showcases look really good but want to know how easy it is to do couldn’t find it in the documentation or any you-tube videos
Hi @homeheroesuk, the footer section is edited from within the theme’s settings, there is a section for that. The bottom area which is the one above the footer is actually Widget areas, so you’ll find that under the Appearances -> Widgets page of WordPress with respective “Bottom X” widget area names. Please specify which you refer as “header” and I’ll tell you how to edit that.

Hello! we have a couple of pre-sales questions. If we choose a demo to install, then can we change some parts of it? For example if a demo doesn’t have a section with full width banner (as health coach), can we add it (with a page builder)? Also, can we change the position of the menu and generally if we have the oportunity to build the hole website as we like (and not install a demo)?

you can do all of the things you ask for, just make sure to note which demo was built using what. You can see what was used to build each demo when you hover over the item thumb here: http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/u-design-theme-demos/
So for example the Healthcoach demo was not build with WPBakery PageBuilder, so if you’re looking to edit the pages with WPBakery it will not be the best option for that.

No, Essential Grid is used for Galleries or Portfolios, it’s not a page builder like WPBakery.

Thanks, unfortunately, I cannot access the support area as my client (who purchased the theme) doesn’t know their login details, so I can’t log in to ask any support questions, which is why I have asked here.

Trying to update the WPBakery Page Builder plugin that came with the theme and it keeps erroring, saying ” A higher version of WPBakery Page Builder is needed for this theme. Please update the plugin.” I am unable to update/edit my site without this. Please assist ASAP.

It shows that there is an update available in the admin header, but when I use the Envato plugin to update, it says “Update Failed: The theme is at the latest version. View version 3.2.0 details.” If I go to the Themes page itself, it says “There is a new version of the U-Design theme available. You have version 3.1.2 installed. Update to version 3.2.0.” Soooo… that’s a problem.
Okay, just got the theme to finally update. Tried to install/update plugins and it errored again. “An error occurred while installing WPBakery Page Builder: Destination folder already exists. /home/content/p3pnexwpnas01_data03/32/2198532/html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/.”
OK, in that case, just delete the js_composer/ folder and try again, you’ll have to use your host’s File Manager to access that folder or FTP client, whichever one you prefer.

Hi, why don’t you use email for that sort of thing. Sounds like they can simply send you an email with the link and you buy it for them, you don’t need a website for that.

Hello – just updated the theme and a lot of stuff was missing. I went through and fixed everything up, but the social media icons I had in the top right header all got messed up. I need Facebook / Instagram / and an Envelope icon to link to the contact form – I had that all there until theme was updated, then it all broke. I have tried using font awesome icons and it’s jut not working. I am utilizing the “Top Area Social Media” Widget area and should have 3 icons side by side with icons that match the colors being used in the theme. Can you please provide code to use for that cause I can’t get anything to work. Thanks!

How do I load in the UFarm and Fluid Demo pages to the theme?
Just use the demo Wizard to import any of the demos. You can access it at any time from “U-Design -> Import Demo Data” page. Keep in mind that this will import the entire demo site not just a single page.
