Hello, I am really interested in this theme, it seems fast. I need to change the theme for this website: http://bit.ly/2e7UcAr
I have some questions: -does the theme have a FAQ section?
-the Testimonials do not seem to have schema.org (customer reviews), will you implement it?
-if I will not use some features, for example sliders, does the theme load those unnecessary .js files, or it is possible to easily remove the unused scripts?
-the same applies for the google maps .js – I don’t need it
-can I easily make the site look like my actual website? So for example the header title, in the top middle of the page as it is today?
-does the theme show custom fields in the editor mode? If not, how to add it? In the old theme I had to edit custom functions such as add_post_type_support( ‘testimonials’, ‘custom-fields’ )

thank you for your interest in the U-Design theme.
To your questions:
You have more than one options for FAQs section, for instance if you decide to build your pages with WPBakery PageBuilder which the theme also includes, then you could setup FAQ similar to this: http://udesigntheme.com/demos/spa/faq/
You can change some of the look and feel within that plugins settings of course. Alternatively, you could use the theme’s accordion shortcode to generate FAQs.
The theme offers schema.org globally for the site, so you can enable them if that’s what you want. I don’t think I have them enabled in the demo site.
For the slider, the theme is using the Slider Revolution plugin which is also included with the theme. That plugin options allow you to only load the sliders’ JS files only on pages that it is being used not globally.
Same for Google maps, if you copy/paste the Google maps script from their website then it will only be loaded on the page being used.
The theme has an option to have a centered logo which you refer to as the title, so yes.
And yes, you should be able to access the Custom Fields ONLY for the default Pages and Posts that come by default with WordPress, what you’re talking about using “add_post_type_support()” function is something you would need to do with any theme if you are using Custom Post types. This is because there is no way for a theme to know what you are calling your custom post type, so you need to add this line. Only in themes that came with the custom post type you won’t have to, however in my theme I do not do any custom post types, so it’s up to you. And it’s not a big deal if you have to add that line as you only do it once in a child theme and you can forget about it after that.

Hello. Need only an information (not support):
I installed a wordpress website with U-Design theme and your included WPbakery Visual Composer (this is a while). Now (for some reason) I have to update the website. When I want to update this plugin, I have to buy WPbackery. If I desactivate your plugin, my website is just your shortcodes and ther is no more design.
After contacts with WPbackery, it appears that the only solution is to buy the new plugin.
BUT they ask me to to ask you (yeah) to confirm that you haven’t done any changes in the core plugin files. Can you confirm me that?

you shouldn’t have to purchase their license in order to update the plugin. You simply need to update the U-Design theme first which will deliver to you the latest release of WPBakery Page Builder plugin. Here you can keep track of the theme’s changelog to see with which release I’ve included an update of what plugin: https://themeforest.net/item/udesign-responsive-wordpress-theme/253220#item-description__updates-history
Once you update the theme to the latest release then you should be able to update all related plugins (including WPBakery) from the U-Design -> Related Plugins page. Note: That page is only available if there is any plugins to either be installed or updated.

Hello, my client is currently using UDesign Child Theme Version: 3.0.0.1545172451 on their site: https://safari4uvet.com/. We are looking to modernize our site, and need to upgrade the hosting/server PHP to 7.3 (they are currently on 7.0). Do you happen to know if doing so will break the site? Or if we step up the PHP level gradually will the child theme be compatible? Wordpress and all of our plugins are currently up to date, just FYI. Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated. first make sure to update the theme to latest release 3.3.5 at the time of writing this as version 3.0.0. is nearly 2years old, here’s the changelog: https://themeforest.net/item/udesign-responsive-wordpress-theme/253220#item-description__updates-history
Once you do that you should not have any issues with the theme and PHP 7.3, I cannot guarantee that for any third party plugins you might have, you’ll have to check with their respective authors on that.

They should be available and some would be replaced because of copyright. I believe in one of the demos you’ll get image placeholders. Which demo exactly are you interested in and I’ll check if the images you see are available or replaced with different ones when you import it?

Hello. I have set the categories to show only subcategories. the parent category works fine, it shows the subcategory. But this subcategory isn’t showing up it’s subcategories as well. Instead, the subcategory of the main category shows up first products from store. Please help with this issue.

I believe WPML plugin is a paid plugin. Now, this is a third party plugin which doesn’t have anything to do with our theme. It’s something we made sure the theme is compatible with but you’ll have to deal with that plugin on your own, whether pricing or support for the plugin.
Also, you don’t need this plugin if you’re going to have a uni-lingual site for example just in Dutch, you’ll only need it if you want a multilingual site.

Yes, I moved some functionality to a plugin which comes with the theme and you need to install. Go to the theme’s “U-Design -> Related Plugins” page and install “U-Design Core” and “CMB 2” plugins if you haven’t done that already.

Hello – we are on v 3.1.2 – for some reason it’s not allowing us to do an auto update via envato, so we’ll have to do a manual. Should we expect any big issues with the update to the latest theme?
In addition: We can’t find where to control “home page column 2” widgets. We have column 1 setup with shortcode columns to span, but do not see how to control another column. Is this due to the version we are on?

Thanks, we were able to get it to work with a new api token. Because I purchased this theme and now want to give it to the client (I will be purchasing the extended support) – can I buy the support and then have him set up his own support account through you? If so, does he just need the license purchase code? Can he set up his own support account or do I need to officially transfer ownership via envato or anything else to him to have him run this? Thanks!
The only way to authenticate for the forum with Envato API token would be to login with their Envato account when prompted, so I’m not sure this will work out, unless you share your credentials of your account with them which I don’t think you want to do. This is why it’s probably best if the client purchases their own license then they’ll get access to the support forum themselves.

I agree, but Envato allows for giving the license to another end user / client. So there must be a way. We are looking to buy the extended support but I am not providing my credentials to someone else. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. We’d rather not buy another theme and will not purchase support if we can’t utilize it as we were lead to believe (via Envato not you of course). Thanks!
How do you give the license to someone else, the last time I checked that wasn’t possible? I know they were talking about it for years. Unless I’m missing something, can you explain?
In any case my support forum can authenticate with Single Sign-on using Envato but for that the user needs to sign in with their Envato account, once they do that then the site can verify their purchase and that they are legible for support. This is how the Envato API works.

Ok so I created a main navigation which has drop down items too. When we go to any page in the drop down, the main navigation doesnt turn active as a result you dont get to know that under which item you currently stand? How do I enable that?

top level items will indicate that only if one of them is currently viewed, children items that are selected are also highlighted if you look at the dropdown menu. Makes no sense to highlight the parent or parent of a parent. Only the currently displayed item should be highlighted.

If your theme does not do something, it does not mean that the mentioned thing does not make sense. A better answer would have been simply that no it does not highlight the parent.

your account is good. I see you posted a question in the forum. If your account was “View Only” then you would not be able to post anything. Most likely caching is playing a number on your, try logging out of the forum, clear the browser cache then sign back in. You are find though, just ignore that nag if it doesn’t go away right away.

Can you tell how do I disable U-Design Update notifications?
just click the Dismiss notice in the notification and it should go away. If it doesn’t then you have a caching issue, most likely some third party caching plugin that you need to disable while doing this or purge the cache.

try setting up the mobile logo from the theme’s “Responsive Layout” section, then purge the cache and “hard” refresh the page in the browser to see if that works for you.
