It doesn’t Your website was de-registered because you were using the same purchase code to register multiple website addresses. It may be dev environments, transfer from http to https, etc. etc.
Just make sure that you are using the theme according to Envato licenses (1 site – 1 theme): https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard register your website(s) and you’re all set.
Ever since upgrading around two months ago I get an error when trying to login, telling me there is a critical error, and debug information was sent to my email. However, I do not receive an email to the admin account, and only lets me login when I disable The 7. Any idea why this is happening suddenly?
It turns out that either updating to version 8, and or installing the Elements plug-in, mentioned here https://support.dream-theme.com/knowledgebase/fatal-error-uncaught-argumentcounterror-on-themes-page/ fixed it.

Could you please re-check WP dashboard The7 -> Plugins – the update is already available. If you still don’t see it, try incognito browser tab.

Are you sure you are making it through Dashboard -> The7 -> Plugins , and not through Dashboard -> Plugins?

We strongly recommend to make all changes by means of a child theme https://support.dream-theme.com/knowledgebase/child-theme/ This way you can update everything automatically.
Also, you can create a dev site: update the theme there, by using your item purchase code. And then download the theme from there, adjust it per your needs and upload it to your live site. Thanks, but this doesn’t answer the question though and of course I would like to avoid maintaining another WP installation just to download the theme as a proxy. Are you sure what you are doing is allowed in Envato? Since Envato promises future updates shouldn’t those updates be available in a short time to download through Themeforest?

I have just moved a website from previous hosting to my hosting and the previous developer did not deregister the theme therefore when I moved the website it says it is not registered although the domain name is exactly the same as it was before and this copy of the theme has only ever been and is only going to be used on this website. Please can you advise because I have asked you on your support forum and you just sent me back to envato theme forest although there is nowhere on here to get help in this regards.! Thanks.

I am afraid you will need to contact the previous developer and ask him to check/deregister the code here https://guide.the7.io/user-guide/micro-sites/ At worst, you’ll need to buy one another copy of the theme in order to get the purchase code for the registration.
We suggest to make a standalone Envato account for a website owner, and buy the theme using this account. So that the website owner can manage the purchase code and address to support no matter what developer is currently working with.
