I just installed a new version of the theme. There is still a bug with social icons that are not visible in Theme panel > Post settings > Sharing > Social networks. See screenshot: https://i.postimg.cc/66RfbXww/Social-Networks.jpg

Thanks for the great work all these years. I think it’s great that you have this update focused on helping users to easily update the theme. It’s going to spare you a lot of negative comments that you had after a recent updates.

Indeed the new theme automatic update should help users overcome issues faced when updating. It seems people had trouble updating the theme and the theme plugins properly so there was a need for such a feature.

Before I apply a new update on the live site, I install each update locally on a new wordpress installation on the latest xampp version. I think this bug exists in the last three versions. Each time was a new installation.

In any case, the solution from the forum solves the problem.

Smart Sidebar is disabled. Still my sidebar is sticky. I tried cleaning cache and everything. Still sticky. How to disable sticky sidebar?

Is this happening in a page or cloud template? The setting from the theme panel won’t affect the columns from pages and cloud templates when they are set to be sticky – https://prnt.sc/relf1f Please edit the respective page or template with the composer and uncheck the sticky option for the columns you want.

Hi,

You mean the theme login/sign up option? That can be used by all visitors to create a new account (if allowed) or sign into the website. It is exactly the same as with the default WordPress login screen, the theme won’t interfere with this functionality.

For the star ratings, is it possible to make it four stars instead of five?

That is not possible, the star rating is from 0.5 minimum to a maximum of 5. This should not be changed as it may cause problems calculating the review result. I have a question: I can see the instagram feed integration which is great…will there be a way to do the same but with the facebook ? I did the social count it works..but all my audience its on facebook.

The theme does indeed provide a Instagram feed and widget, but there isn’t something similar for Facebook, except the social counter where you can display the number of fans. Depending on what exactly you want to display you could try some plugins. My youtube counter stuck. Hi I created the Youtube API key according to the instructions, but when I paste it into theme API key field I see a message “Please enter a valid URL” and it looks like nothing changed.

That message can be ignored as it will be removed in a future version of the theme. It could not be removed just by updating the plugin. new theme update is needed to remove that message but that does not change the functionality of the youtube api key. Once you place a valid key there, the youtube videos will work fine again along with the social counter. You need to update the social counter also. Delete it and reinstall it. Delete all of your theme plugins and install them again from the plugins section. Then your youtube videos as well as social counter should work again.

Hi, we are thinking to purchase your theme but we concern how your tagdiv plugins concern with cpu load and if there are caching in a high traffic site. Actually, we read a lot of comments for cpu load, but not really answers in order to justify that there is not a problem or there is one! Could you please explain to all of your future customers the requirements before we purchase it?

Sure thing! First, thank you for your interest in our theme :)

Usually such high CPU loads happen when there is a problem encountered by certain users regarding different implementation they have on their websites that could interfere with the theme’s functionality. Our theme is the number 1 selling news theme on Themeforest so as you can imagine, we test it rigorously and there is no aspect of the theme itself causing the high CPU load. Such a serious issue would never get past our testing. On each case, we have investigated and tested the theme again, but nothing was found. The only conclusion was the issue is user side or server side. There could be indeed certain host limitations causing it but we have yet to identify exactly which hosts and which cases occur. From case to case, each issue is different. All of the solved cases we encountered have been related to plugins though.

No, the components get pulled from the cloud to your local install. All of the templates are kept on the cloud but once you choose a template, it will be downloaded to your site.

The theme uses one file or another depending on the theme plugins installed on your site. If you use the Standard Pack plugin, you will find the file in the standard pack plugin files. If you do not use the Standard Pack, then the file is found under the tagDiv Composer files.

Yes, I use the Standard Pack plugin, but I can ‘t find the file responsible for displaying the main page template “pagesbuilder + recent articles + pagination”. Already in all folders looked, please tell me the path to this file or how it is called? because the admin panel just shows the template “pagesbuilder + recent articles + pagination” and that’s it.

You may find my this comment really disturbing and disappointing but anyone who would have been, the greatest admirer of your work so far, will be the one who is highly disappointed now.

- It’s been nearly 4 months and the theme is yet to find the stability. One or some other issues are always there.

- You are not able to fix the the critical Preview option in the last 4 months. With the release of 10.1 you said, it would be done in the next release, which came only after few weeks. In 10.2 the issue was persistent and you again defended stating that it would be fixed in the next release. Instead of fixing it on a priority basis 10.3 came after few months, but again you found some other excuses for not been able to fix the Preview issue.

- 10.3 is even more buggy and messy. Footer Template is breaking the issue. Preview issue not fixed. TD Composer is super slow. Query Monitor is showing a lot more issues in your coding.

- This is going on for the last 4 months and I am surprised to see how granted and cool attitude you have opted. It’s ben again over 1 month and you guys are yet to fix all the critical issues.

NewsPaper has lost its mojo and those who are really serious for their online presence MUST STAY AWAY from it.

Indeed the preview issue has been going on in the past 2 theme versions because it broke in multiple ways than just 1. When 1 was fixed, another issue occurred with the same preview. Now the preview is fixed in 10,3 and there are no more issues in this regard.

The footer issue you report cannot be replicated on our end. It is something you are facing that needs investigating.

You no longer have active theme support on your account so if you need us to investigate why this is happening for your site in particular (again, it works just fine on all our test platforms) you will need to renew your theme support using this guide: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/207886473-Extending-and-Renewing-Item-Support Then you can provide access to your site and we will be able to help you overcome the issues mentioned.

Indeed, at the moment there is an issue regarding the footer template editing. The footer can be created but after the initial creation, it can no longer be edited directly. You need to edit it through another page. Edit your homepage for example and set up the footer thereafter the initial creation. You can set up the header and the footer on any page. In the above comment you agreed that Footer is indeed having an issue. I am not sure how you are tyying to replicate, but let me help you:

Go to Theme Panel, Select Footer. Dont select anything from the Cloud Library Template option. Just scroll down and under the Footer Page option, select a Footer, your site will break immediately.

Similarly, if somehow Footer is already active, due to the previous settings you made in NewsPaper 10.2 version, you try to update Header in any Custom Page having the Footer active, of directly try to update Header Template, it wont.

All the above issue disappear the moment you remove Footer from the Template Library Option.

I am suspecting all of this due to the existing issue – you agreed – related to Footer.

The only issues related to the footer is not being able to edit the footer template directly from the Cloud Library Templates section. You can however edit the footer by editing any other page that contains the footer. It is not theme breaking an any way and not an issue that you cannot get over. Simply edit it from another page and it works fine.

Highly disappointed . None of the cloud Template is editable. When I click on Save in TD Composer mode, the cursor keep rotating. The theme is completely broken. The header is not editable as well.

It’s been over 3 months and this theme is yet to achieve the stability.

Found few new issues: Site is breaking and throwing error, if you have set Footer from the Footer Page option under Theme Template -> Footer. The moment you set any Footer from the Cloud Library, the whole site breaks.

For the same reason, your TD Editor don’t save any changes in Header well if you try to do.

Once disabled, the whole site works like charm. But you need to live without any Footer.

We cannot replicate any such issues on our end. The cloud library templates all work fine including the footer. You most likely have a plugin or custom code/ad that interferes with the proper functionality of the theme.
