Is there a instruction manual how to make the site look as it does on the ‘live preview’? I have no idea how to add anything to the homepage :/
Not sure how to install the demo data either…
On the shortcodes page there are no shortcodes either?
How do I add a slider to the home page? Plus everything else you have made on the preview of your site?

Hi there! Thanks for the purchase! Have you read the abaca documentation that comes with the theme?
Read te documentation and also install the XML file by going to tools>import and then select Wordpress on the menu.
Let us know if you still have issues!
Also please keep in mind the XML file does not include images or layer slider data. See our FAQ at the top of the page for later slider data.

Not sure where I can get to the documentation…
In the files I’ve downloaded if I click on the documentation folder I eventually come to a html file that links to my downloads on Themeforest (?).
Just trying to work out how to use the shortcodes as well as you have done on the preview version of the site. Got all my pages set up now. Just trying to work out how to present everything nicely!
In regards to the sliders.. I have no idea what I am doing there!
The index file in the documentation links to the documentation we set up. If its showing a page in TF then I suggest clearing your cache and trying again. That’s really weird, I just checked and it works as it should on my end.
Regarding short codes, please email us from our profile page and I’ll send you some samples from our demo. I can’t post tem in comments because it reads them as real markup and won’t display te necessary code.

Also, one quick tip for short codes is that we have buttons to insert a short code when you are in the visual editor of your page options. There are buttons for all the short codes there.

Below is a quick image to show you where the short code buttons are at in the visual editor. I highlighted them in the red box. You can click anyone of them and the short code is added, simply fill in your content!

Hi – I’ve just bought your theme and am setting up my website now. I have a query about the Portfolio posts. I have entered a few and ‘published’ them. However, they do not appear on the site anywhere? Do I need to set up a portfolio-type page myself? And if so, how do I pull the posts in? They also don’t appear in the ‘recent works’ widget – again, do I need to do something to make that happen?

Do you have a “portfolio” page set up in your menu? In the top navigation? If you do have one then something is not set up right.

Q: I cannot make the drop down menu work? I have a “Resources” page, and then created 2 more pages and selected “Resources” as the parent but it doesn’t seem to show the 2 more pages as a dropdown when I hover over the “Resources” page link. Thanks!
Hi 
What you need to do is go to “appearance>menu” and set up the drop down menu there. You can drag and drop your pages into te correct spot, and to make a drop down drap your menu item underneath and slightly to the right of your main parent page.

On that tab you can select to change the number of portfolio items per page.

Hi there, thanks for the purchase! Make sure you are placing all CSS in the style.css, that’s where custom css should go, if you put it in the all.css and we do an update, your settings will be overwritten.
the 3 things you listed do not have gradients for them so I’m not sure what you a re referring to there. i’ve listed the css id’s for the 3 items
1. add background color to #header
2. change color for a
3. #main
Also, making one change may require you to make others as well. We suggest getting firebug to inspect the demo and see what things are named so you can easily change them. Firebug is a browser plugin thats free and allows you to inspect the css live.

Hi, I would also like to change the top drop down menu behaviour. Instead that on mouse over the background changes color I would like the text to change color and background stays the same color.
Can you please help me how to do it since I’m not a CSS expert.
To delete the standard fonts, edit header.php and delete the following code:

Our support is provided to all users for anything that needs fixed or questions they have about using it. But when you get into customizations like you are doing, it becomes a different thing and is very time consuming.
I’m sorry but you can’t expect the support to include customizations. We do provide help with some customizations, but we have to draw the line somewhere.
That’s standard across all themes here, and I know that most authors won’t help at all with customizations. We will help some, but you have to understand how much time that can take.

Is there a way to have the sublayers in the layer slider slide out in position with the main layer? I’m not having much luck.
My apologies if this has already been asked, I wish there was an easy way to search only Avada comments.

Thanks for the comments! I’m not sure I understand … are you trying to align your sublayers with the main layer? If so, please see the FAQ tab at the top of the page, I have taken some time and created a bunch of good info that also has an example slide to follow. its along post but its worth it to read, especially if you are having issues positioning the sublayers.
The layer slider is an awesome slider with great effects, but it does take a little work when using multiple sublayers. The FAQ I made will help, it also has a link to download sample content with settings to follow.

Hello, I’d love to make some pricing tables that look like your example here:

When I make a pricing table short code, it looks very…. different. When I create more than one, they’re all separated.
On that, is there anywhere I can find more details about each of the variables for all of the short-codes?

Send us an email from the profile page and I’ll send it back to you. You could also import the XML data, the tables should be included.
The tables may look different at first but once you populate them with all the content they will fill up and look normal.

There seems to be a bug with IE when using the button class to make a button as you have done in the layer-slider. – The buttons filling and gradients does not render, only the outline. (seen in your first live-preview page)(it works fine when you make a button with the shortcode)
Good old IE issues We just squashed a bunch in our latest update, 1.0..4. Are you ruining the latest version?
If so, can you email us some screenshots of the issue, and include the version of IE and explain the issue. We will get it fixed!

And i have another problem: The complete text of one article is shown under every article on the Blog Page. (The WP excerpt feature does only work for the Home site but not in this case. 
)
