Just yesterday and today, any time I try to make a change to the Uncode theme options (using a child theme, which is what I have always done), attempts to save the theme options results in a 500 Server error. This only happens with the theme options…and only on this theme…

We are sorry but from here we cannot know why you have this error, by the way, 500 Server error is for definition a server error, and you should ask more details to your hosting company (they have reports they can read). Obviously, it only happens to you with this theme, each theme has Theme Options developed differently. To prove that this is not a native issue of the theme and happens due to a server issue, if it was of the theme you would have always had it, instead of as you say it happens only now (a code error would have happened since the installation). This is strange because now sometimes when I just even click on the theme options, it returns that error. Again, it never happens with anything else. Would you potentially recommend re-installing the theme/child theme?

Exactly what I’m trying to tell you, if there is an error in the code you would have it 100% of the time and all users would complain, an intermittent error is related to the server and there is nothing strange. You can’t really compare other themes, like if you have an issue with another theme it’s not a comparison to say you don’t have it.
Strange. I tried deactivating all my plugins, that wasn’t it. Modsecurity is not installed on my host. My PHP is 7.4. My memory limit shows as fine in the system check on Uncode.
If I renewed support, would you be able to resolve this for me? Or would your advice be the same as in this comment thread?
Hi pixelkinetic! I don’t think you need to renew support because this is something you need to debug with your server support, this is a “500 Server Error” for definition. You have to present the problem to them as this error occurs due to some limitation on the server and they can see through the log file what triggers this problem: https://support.undsgn.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000580429
PS: Obviously if they do not help you feel free to renew the support so we can access your installation and FTP, but since this is not an error of the theme we can not guarantee to got at a solution because we will arrive at a point where the error occurs for lack of server resources (indeed if you have another server, try to install Uncode, so you can see that the problem is not the theme but the server).
I did finally get this resolved, thank you! It was the server. They use modsecurity but call it something else.

Hi FakeGameCZ! We confirm that there is absolutely no option to add custom data attributes to the Button module (it looks like something really custom). If the Class, ID or On Click options don’t work for you, at this point I think you’d better create a link manually, and apply a few CSS to make it look like a button.

I have some issues with uncode atm, so took a copy of the site and put it on a staging URL to make changes. I cant update the theme as it tells me about licnese issues. I emailed support to be told that this is against license terms. That’s hardly helpful. Expected better from such a big theme! Have purchased more than one license as the theme is so good but to be told no help with this issue is just rubbish.

I purchased more than one licnese for completely different sites. Thats not what I meant.
My issue is simple. One of my sites, has an issue. To try and rectify, I put this on a staging URL. I now cant update the theme as I get the stupid license error message and support basically said thats how it is.

Hi! Theme looks amazing. I have a few pre-sale questions (I’d be using one of the blog demos to start with):
1. Can we add a button to toggle between dark/light mode on mobile?
2. I see in the “Single Media” features page that we can customize the aspect ratio of images. We will have a vertical 9:16 video embed from Vimeo in almost all posts. We need the video in the post to display as a 1:1 ratio “video cover” static image which is clickable (then expands to 9:16 full-screen on mobile). Can this be done?
3. Is there a function that allows creating each page with a separate PC, tablet and mobile format? We want to lay it out specifically for each device format, not relying on the PC version adapting to mobile.
Most of our readers will access from mobile, so the PC version isn’t as important. But we want a similar layout on all devices – every image will be square 1:1 ratio.

Hi BirnenHans! No sorry there is not a trick we can suggest, anyway, if you refer to the cart that the “Mini-Cart” is stuck at the top of the page on mobile, this will be fixed in next update. Right now you can use the “Side-Cart”.

Hi there, yes I have that plugin, but how should I be able to use that plugin to have the categories be displayed in a specific order within the frontend? Within the backend the categories are ordered correctly and also have the corresponding IDs. In the frontend the sorting of that categories seems to be very random and not according to the backend order (backend categories are sorted with IDs from 1-5, in the frontend it’s sorted like 4, 3, 1, 2, 5). I’ve tried disabling all the plugins but it doesn’t make a difference. It’s all behaving very very strangely. I’m amending the footer, and it changes how the navigation looks etc. I’ll have to go back to a backup
Hi kodendigital! Probably you have too many plugins for how many Max Vars you have. The suggested 3000 are for Uncode and native plugins but if you have a lot of extra plugins they consume more Max Vars. For example, WooCommerce consumes 1000 Vars. It seems that for some reason when you saved the server it didn’t complete the operation and you lost your Theme Options. So deactivating the current plugins won’t get your Theme Options back, but you should consider increasing them to 4000-5000 to avoid the problem. PS: At least for what we can think from here.
So if it was set to under 3000 and you hit save, all the theme options are reverted to default? That appears to have happened!
Hello again, unfortunately if at the time of saving the sent data exceeded the value of the max_input_vars, the server was able to save in the database only the allowed number of data, so probably the first entries of your Theme Options have been saved, while the last ones have been emptied exceeding the allowed quality of the max input vars (once again, at least for what we can think from here).

Ok yes. It’s showing 512mb in the plugin but 40 in the uncode status. Okay to ignore then? I have since restored the website from an old backup, ensured the limits are all set okay, made one change to the website settings and it’s reverted back to default again! Somethings definitely wrong…
As told if you have lot of extra plugins you should raise the vars from 3000 to 5000 or 6000, yes there is something wring with the server that is not saving them.
Really sorry, I have it set to 6000, removed all extra plugins so it’s back to default now and I still have the issue!
We are sorry but we really don’t know how to help more without a debug to your website, that it’s not possible from here. Something is preventing the correct saving of the options. If this is a problem of Uncode this should be happen from the moment of the installation, instead something changed over the time. The last thing we can think of from here is that you have lot of extra codes in the Theme Options > CSS or JS (in case please check).
I also remember that another user got this problem, and the issue was related to fact that he got lot of dirty in the database left by unused plugins, we helped by removing all extra plugins and cleaning the database with a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-optimize/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-database-cleaner/
I’ve now done all of these things with no luck. I currently have an 80% built site that is unusable. Not quite sure how to proceed here. Can you look into this any more for me via email?

Bug: When on mobile iPhone and scrolling down on product page when stacking image is enabled, it does not scroll down. It only opens image.

I’ve noticed that if the button is one colour the border animation is the same colour but if the button is a gradient colour the border animation is white.
