The theme is extremely heavy and slow. Yes, there are a lot of features but many of them make the theme inconsistent and unstable. For example, even a small feature like reading time is not consistent because it is not shown for some posts.Some layout changes are not reflected on the page. Another example is dark mode. WpBakery Page Builder seems a wrong choice for some demos. Documentation is poor.
My I/O usage resources were limited. There are a lot of calls to admin-ajax.php. This theme is terrible in terms of performance. It does need a dedicated server! I have only one website on my hosting and the result is horrific. Just one simple blog with this theme eats all resources.

Of course, I couldn’t wait for response and I tried to optimize the theme, it is still slow but there is nothing to do. I will not share my site URL here or even in the support forum with you and I will not make any further comment anymore. I am just writing what I did to solve some of these problems for people who have a lot of headaches because of this theme. In my situation, more than 267 calls were made to admin-ajax php in an extremely short period of time and my dashboard was very slow. (Opening aposts or pages section took 4-5 seconds) 0. Install Hearbeat Control plugin to limit AJAX requests (at least on the dashboard). 1. Use a CDN (cloudflare my recommendation) 2. Optimize all assets 3. Don’t show more than 10 posts on the homepage. 4. If possible, don’t use any page builder, but if you really need then use Elementor. In my case Elementor was faster than WPBakery Visual Composer. Actually, we’re not using admin-ajax.php on the frontend JNews as you said above. We use a custom ajax request URL to handle ajax requests instead which have better performance than admin-ajax.php
We only use around 2 ajax calls on the frontend and that’s for the view counter and popup login feature, if you enable that features.

Also, page speed depend on many factors such as server setup, server location, number of the installed plugin, website content, ads, external resource and etc.
Actually, we have a private reply feature on our support forum that you can use to share private information. In this case, you can use this feature to share your site URL so we can do further checking on our side.

Yeah, I am pretty sure your custom ajax staff has better performance than the admin-ajax.php (!). I knew some developers always blame the server first. No surprise. I do know that you have a private reply feature on the forum. I also know that you offer Increase Page Speed Perfomance service which is quite interesting!

I have build several Wordpress-Sites with several Themes, but the JNews-Theme is the best I ever had. I had only one little css-Bug within chrome (logo high if an advertisement is set on the right), but this was fixed easily by adding the explizit high as custom css. Greate work, dudes!

Hello. There are issues with schema markup. https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool please see in this tool. Too many errors. I also notice code is visible on articlebody property. This should not output code and most likely holding back sites. Can you please resolve?

1. Delete “Min Read” from FRONTEND TRANSLATION plugin, you still left it. It is unnecessary and duplicates “Reading Time:” (in FRONTEND TRANSLATION).
2. Fix “min read” string in theme’s POT / PO – untranslatable. Always in EN. This string in POT / PO is needed when Frontend Translation is not used – only it displays correctly now, but it is always in English. Fix the POT / PO. Here you unnecessarily added “read” to “min”. “Min” is linguistically universal, but read is only in English. It used to be good and it was only “min”. This shouldn’t matter if the translation worked but doesn’t work and is always “read min”.
3. Check the conflicts and connections between the translations in the POT / PO of the JNEWS theme and the FRONTEND TRANSLATION plugin.

The time spent fixing this theme’s bugs can be counted in days, not hours! This is the 11th post on the same topic in 8 months! You haven’t improved “Reading time”. This is a nightmare and lack of professionalism! 8 months and still a mistake! Now you have added “min read” to strings in POT / PO, but it’s impossible to translate! Despite the translation, the text is still in English. In the FRONTEND TRANSLATION plugin you still left “Min Read” which is unnecessary and duplicates “Reading Time:”.

If you would like the Reading time and Min read to be just 1 unified option, we can make that kind of changes, the problem is If we push this kind of change to the next update, the other users who have made the translated string will lose their translation. It is easy for us to make features, but changing the existing feature is not as easy because we have to consider the older users and not cause unnecessary fuzz.
In this case, we can make this feature just for you. Please inform us if you would like to have this feature, we will gladly provide for you.
2 & 3. Our string is translatable in the POT/PO file. You will need to generate the MO file from the POT/PO file for the translation to take effect. We already tested on our side to replicate the issue you reported but we don’t get any issue related to yours. It would be better if we can do further investigation on your website. You can contact us through our Themeforest profile page and we will need login credentials into your website.
We checked both POT and Frontend translation and both of them are translatable on our side also the reading time is 1 minute, it will return 1 min, and if more than a minute, it will return %s mins.

1. Chronologically. It started out when we wrote to you that there is a logical bug in the Frontend Translation plugin. “Min Read” should be replaced with “Reading time” which was not there at the time. We wanted it to be consistent in the name of “Cook time”.
2. After 2 months you unexpectedly added “Reading time” in Frontend Translation, but didn’t remove “Min Read” which translated the same thing and is still there today. “Reading time” was only meant to replace “Min Read” (NOT DELETED).
3. “if more than a minute, it will return% s mins”. “mins” is only logical in the English version. A translation with an alternate ending is needed as it does not make sense in other languages. Why was the variant singular, plural, other variants not used (this is standard). There is “min read” in POT / PO, but “mins read” is not at all – it is also untranslatable. We have also created a new OP with POT and it is still not possible to translate “min read”: https://imgur.com/a/i9R8qDd
4. Frontend Translation v8.0.0 does not have its own POT (in fact it is, but does not contain phrases to translate, only a few informative and technical phrases). The entire translation is in a PHP or JS file. Maybe encrypted – we don’t even have time to check it. So there is no bug in POT / PO here but it is in the plugin itself.
5.jnews.pot has a 3232 string. Is that many strings should it have? This is a POT after installing to 8.0.2, so probably the most up-to-date.
PS This is how the correct preparation of “min read” and “mins read” should look like. Now the translation “min read” doesn’t work and “mins read” doesn’t exist at all – someone forgot about it.
In a properly prepared translation, there should be an option for “min” (WITHOUT READ) or “minutes:

1 & 2. We can not simply delete the option because it will influence all of our user bases. We can make the modification just for you if you would like to have one.
3. As we mentioned in the previous reply, changing the PO/POT file will not translate the strings on your site. You will have to generate the MO file which is based on the PO/POT file. You can generate an MO file with the application that you can download below.
We see that it is only able to translate only for language that has 2 forms of grammatical number (singular vs plural). We can help you to create the customization that suits your need regarding this feature if you would like to have one.

You don’t answer the most important issues! After all, you’ve made a few changes without taking into account how it affects users! From the beginning there was only “min” and now you changed to “min read” and “mins read” – the last plural is untranslatable at all. 3. We have over 300 pages. We have been working on WP for 8 years – we know what an MO file is and where it should be. It just doesn’t work. You have not checked it as in point 1 & 2 and we checked on 4 installations – DOES NOT WORK!

5. The POT downloaded from the latest theme 8.0.2 has 3 strings less than you write: 3232 not 3235.

Previously our newest items (theme) like JNews, Sukawati, Photology, and all of our plugins already meet the WP Requirements Compliant Badge. The rest is our old themes that still remain need to update. But for old themes, we need to do major updates. Currently, we still postpone the process of the WP Requirements Compliant Badge because updating the old theme will take much time and it may affecting the theme users.

Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.

Hello, I tried to use JNews theme, but unfortunately, I have a problem. I have imported the demo content Pop News, but futured images in posts are not visible. I use auto load scroll option. Only template 6 and 10 show featured image in post. Other templates doesn’t work. The image is not visible. Switching image load mechanism from Lazy load to Normal image doesn’t solve the problem.
