Hello. Im looking to buy this theme but i want to know if i am able to install this on my current site to stye and work how i like it. Is this possible.

Thanks in advance

Hey there,

It’s a WordPress theme so you need to have WordPress installed on your server to use it. It’s possible to customize the style of the theme with some coding knowledge.

Thanks

Hey ChrisMooney, just wanted to say thank you for this awesome item! Wonderful job! Will make the world a better place with more professional-looking knowledge bases :) 5 stars!

Thanks for your great feedback, I super appreciate it :)

Can you post a changelog, please? So we know what files to replace. THX

Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to me. I post in the update log an overview of what has been changed so customers know what to look out for in the updates.

If you want to make modifications to the theme itself, it’s much better practice to use a child theme (http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes) and avoids the issue of having to maintain your own customizations in the core theme itself.

Hopefully that makes sense and you can understand the decision.

Thanks

Can you simply give a list of what files have changed?

Sorry, it’s just not possible.

Hey Chris…this looks awesome! License question, I’m wanting to create a subdomain for a support/wiki site for my clients. I would probably have individual installations for each client though, in a subfolder. Would I be able to purchase this once for each installation if it’s on the same domain? Or, I would assume this would work with WMU just fine (which is probably the best way to do it)?

Cheers, JC

I think what I’ll do is just purchase an Regular license in the meantime…as I grow, I may buy an Extended license. I would assume that even if I was using WMU I could just buy a Regular license for each site I create within WMU ? So, just pay $45 each installation?

Hey there,

I believe that’s correct. You might want to check with ThemeForest support and clarify with them regarding the licenses just to make sure. These things can get complicated quickly :)

If there’s anything else I can help you with let me know.

Thanks

Awesome, will do. Thanks Chris!

JC

Awesome product, setup and all go within an hour. Nice work.

Awesome, glad you’ve had a great experience with my theme :)

Thank you for the answer. “&” makes the same error…

/Henrik

Thanks for letting me know Henrik, it’s appreciated :)

Hello

Nice Theme. :-)

I am uploading directly to WordPress/KnowHow from ScreenSteps software : http://www.bluemangolearning.com/screensteps/

All my articles have numbers and a # eg. Article = “Oprette dokumenter #13”

When searching for an article, I would like to be able to type #13 and then have article #13 as the search result.

When typing a # in the search field the page layout changes dramaticly. :-)

Is it possible to change i any way?

/Henrik

Hey Henrik,

That’s an odd issue indeed. I’ll have to take a look closely at this to see what’s going on. I’ll hopefully be able to come up with a fix and include it in the next update.

In the meantime perhaps use No.13 instead of #13?

Thanks

Tried that last night, and yes—it’s a good plugin and it does improve the search engine, but that still doesn’t explain why there should be a difference between the live results and the search results page if, as you say, the one is derived directly from the other.

Could you give me a link to I could take a look?

Thanks

Initially I assumed that to be the case, but as more content has been added the two have diverged until the live bar results have become almost useless.

If this doesn’t make sense based on how it is designed to work there must a reason.

Hey there,

This could be a case of WordPress search results not being reliable when a large amount of content is being searched. I know I’ve ran into this problem before.

Have you tried this solution? http://wplift.com/how-to-improve-the-default-wordpress-search-engine

It should be compatible with the theme and give more control over search results.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Alright, thanks, no worries.

Second question – the instant results from the search bar appears to be much less accurate then the wordpress search results page. Is there anything that can be done about that with a plugin or anything?

Hey there,

The live search uses WordPress’ engine to derive the results (i.e. it’s exactly the same as if you searched by default) so I don’t know how to help you there.

Thanks

Hi there. I’ve installed this theme on WP 3 .4.

Is it safe to upgrade to 3.4.2?

Hey there,

I’m running 3.4.2 and it works great. :)

Thanks

Hi,

Our company is looking at replacing our current knowledge base. I have a couple of questions I would like answered. Is there any way I can contact you via email for this?

Thanks

Jan Prins

Sure just send your questions via the contact form on my profile.

Thanks

Is it possible to use a different icon for each category instead of the folder icon? I have a site I am building and have about 15 different categories that I would like to have separate icons for that appear on the homepage next to the category titles instead of the folders.

And also each article would use the same icon from the category it’s in instead of the paper or filmstrip icon.

Is that something that can be done?

One other question, is it possible to add an intro paragraph about the site above the category listings on the homepage?

Thanks

Hey there,

It’s not possible unfortunately. To add an intro paragraph the simplest way would be to edit the index.php template.

Thanks

Any idea when new update is coming? I want my Articles to show without people having to look at them first

Hey there,

The update went live this morning. Re-download the theme and update. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Thanks

Hi,

Does your theme use Wordpress engine for adding posts (articles)?

KnowHow is a WordPress theme, it’s managed by the WordPress back-end.

Thanks

Question does this template come non php html only besides the php version

Hey there,

This is a WordPress theme only. It will only work with WordPress and not standalone.

Thanks

Would love to see some forum software integrated into this theme. For example bbPress, which has a thread status feature: http://cheerapp.pogoking.net/forums/forum/wordpress/

Hey there,

I’ll keep it in mind, thanks :)

I’ve created menu’s, but the theme constantly says “You need to setup your WordPress Menus. Go to Appreance > Menus. See the documentation for details”.

Why is this please?

Hey there,

Have you assigned the menu to the theme location? Check “Adding Your Menu to Your Site” here: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Menu_User_Guide

Thanks

Thanks Chris (below), that done it :)

hi Chris,

Please take a look at my mockup site here:

library.tesyoo.co.cc

As you can see, I’ve posted a few posts already there as test posts. Your demo site shows the title of each post under each category, while mine doesn’t. I want to make my site exactly like yours, and so wondering how to fix this. Thanks!

Hey there,

This happens when the article hasn’t been visited yet. I’ve fixed this in the latest version which will be uploaded soon. Thanks for reporting.

Thanks

Hello Chris

Can you tell me how this theme will handle lots of posts please – more than can be displayed on one page.

I like the look of it, but have a feeling that I’ll have more content than can be displayed in one go.

Thanks

Al

Hey there,

I’m not entirely sure what you mean. The category page will paginate and the homepage is limited to showing 5 posts from each category (this can be changed in the theme options).

Hope that answers your question.

Thanks
