Hi I appreciate the work gone into rewriting this theme, it was one of my favourite themes, it was getting a bit dated though and now I am trying a run out with the latest version (V4+) I have installed the main demo and all fine, I have removed the search and contact button, so in elementor > Header I have 2 columns side by side (one with logo, other with menu) How can i justify menu to the right??? no matter what i do in elementor I cannot get the menu to justify to the right, (i want right hand menu item to be under the right hand social icon in the top bar. thought this woudl be easy, i have 3 sites that will need updating and I want to keep udeisgn if i think it is worth the effort. Thanks for showing interest in our theme.
The thing is if you removed the column of the search button and contact button the two-column will be left one for the logo and the second for the menu and the menu automatically aligned to the right but if not you can make it by pasting the below code in the Appearance >> Customize >> Additional CSS
nav.main-menu{float:right !important;}
Then check back your site after clearing the browser cache if still you facing the issue then please contact us via support forums from there our support team member will help you to fix this issue for you.

Thanks Andon for the useful info, I have it on a test site as i wasnt sure if I could use this theme (considering it is a complete rebuild from previous revisions) happy to say I can but it should come with a massive warning to thsoe looking to update their current udesign theme.
Anyways I am well impressed with the page speed etc, the only thing is that the menus is not alighint to the right, i copied and pasted the code above as instructed, ,my logo column is 23% and my menu column is 77%, only 2 columns now in header, the menu column does extend out in line with the content area but the menu ancestor (blue box) is aligned to left,

Here are the recommended way of Automatic update from us:
1. Take the complete backup of your site before updating the Theme for avoiding any inconvenience.
2. Deactivate all the third-party plugins before updating the Theme.
3. Take a Backup of your Custom Code and remove it from the site before an update of the Theme.
4. If you are using a Child Theme then Activate the Parent-Theme before updating the Theme.
5. Remove all the cache from your server, site and finally check back your site after removing the browser cache and check deeply what are the changes that occur on your site after that...
6. After that go to Appearance >> Themes and update the Theme One-Click automatically from there.
7. After that go to Appearance >> Install Plugins and update the Theme required/recommended plugins from there one by one.
8. After that check back your site after removing the browser cache and check deeply what are changes occur on your site after that and if all goes well then.
9. You have to again Activate the Child Theme.
10. Again activate all the third-party plugins one by one.Finally, check back your site after removing the browser cache.

You can manually install the theme just following the below steps:
1) Take a complete backup of your site.
2) Disable all the third-party plugins
3) Go to the wp-content folder >> Themes and rename the first "UDesign" theme and then upload the latest version zip file there you can download the file from this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f8wh5muwfsvq8yl/u-design-core.zip?dl=0 and then extract the file there.
4) Go to the Dashboard >> Appearance >> Themes and activate the parent theme.
5) Go to the Dashboard >> Appearance >> Install plugins and then update the theme necessary plugins
6) Then check back your site after clearing the browser cache.
7) Now, you can activate the child theme and third-party plugins again.I hope you understand.

Followed the steps, but still cant get the import demo options working; and there is not template or layouts installed, Slider isnt show on the home page, the pervious menus is not not visible.

I’m having a problem updating the theme using my Envato Token as I’ve always done before. The message I get is:

The error “Destination folder already exists” means that the theme is already installed on the server. If not then first rename the theme folder name from the wp-content >> themes and then try to update it again I hope you will never face any issue.

The old version of the theme has week basis and nowadays the technologies are too updated. The programming languages coding standards were also updated. So if we create a new theme then the old one will no more works in the coming few months based on the technologies updates faster and faster. So all of our customers will lose their sites just because of our old version of the theme. So in this scenario, we update our theme so that it will be compatible with the working and coming technologies on the website. So that our customers will be able to use the theme till they want to. This was the only way we have. I hope you understand.

Help! This version is almost like a new theme and so I am having to change everything to make the site look like it is supposed to but I am struggling to do this. Nightmare. The Documentation does not help on issues like – where are the ‘13 pre-built headers’ so that I have a hope in hell of making the header look decent instead of squished up. Why on earth would you do this? Why not just make a new theme if you want to and give us the OPTION of changing theme?

To know how to set and use the pre-build layouts of header simply go to the Dashboard >> UDesign >> Template there you will see the header template edit it and in the settings, you will see the UDesign Icon click on it then open the “UDesign Studio” there you will see the pre-build layouts as you can see in the image: i.is.cc/1roRLPQD.png you can use any one of them you want.

I followed all your instructions to update the theme to 4.0 and reactivated the plugins and sadly now I am been told by WP Bakery that I have to pay $56 for that plugin to work with 4.0! And on top of that I have lost all my site layout completely. I will for now go back to my backup of the previous version and move to another theme. This was a debacle of a roll out.
When I try to update WP Bakery plugin: “An error occurred while updating WPBakery Page Builder: To receive automatic updates license activation is required. Please visit Settings to activate your WPBakery Page Builder. Got WPBakery Page Builder in theme?”
What you should have done is explained to people in advance the WP Bakery licence upgrade expense issue and not supporting it anymore. You should have, and I have seen good theme makers do this, is offer an update to the 3.0 version whilst presenting the 4.0 version as a beta theme for some to experiment with. Why do you think we all have time to rebuild websites from scratch? Thank heavens I backed up my site using All In One Migration plugin. Never again buying anything from you.

Regarding wpbakery working with the latest theme version, there is some issue and I am very sorry for that I know it mentioned on our official site that wpbakery is supported but in the recent update we removed wpbakery from our supported plugins list and we missed those tags on themeforest and we will remove those soon. So I apologize for this confusion.
Now if you manually use wpbakery then it is not going to change anything because theme pages will not customize with wpbakery anymore.
So now if you want to use wpbakery then ask your hosting provider to restore your old backup and after that do not update the theme because you can’t update your old site without any conflict. We replaced all codes of the original udesign theme. It is impossible to compatible with old versions.
Or if you want to update then simply create your site from scratch with elementor plugin.

Actually, it is a major update of our theme we added lots of new features, options, and demos and remove the old options from the theme. You can update your theme by following the below steps.
1) take a complete backup of your site.
2) Disable all the third-party plugins.
3) Remove the customization from the theme core files and from the child theme if you added.
4) Update your theme from the Appearance >> Themes
5) Update the theme necessary plugins from the Appearance >> Install Plugins.
6) Check back your site after clearing the browser cache.
7) activate the third-party plugins one by one.
Add the customization again in the child theme, or in the theme core files

New version 4, its not working for me, cannot download/import the demo contents, And the support needs to have the website online (live) which is not possible for me. I see replies to update to the new version 4.0.0. My question – we have extensive edits in the current version Child theme. If we upgrade to the new version will the Child theme we are currently using still work?

Thanks for your contact, As you know that 4.0.0 is a Major update, and we have added a lot of features and functionality in the theme with this update and the design has been changed a bit as well, so obviously some classes have been added and removed from the theme as well, the old Customization might not work with the new update of the theme.
The best practice is that, take the complete backup of your site, and then deactivate all the third-party plugins on your site and activate the Parent theme, now update the theme and plugins on your site and again activate all the third-party plugins one by one, and after that activate the Child Theme, If everything will go smoothly then it means there is no issue with your Customization and if there will be any issue, then you will know the exact reason of the issue so you will have to look into that only.
This is the only possible way…

So, we are making our way through the upgrade process to 4.0.0 and we do not see the WPBakery plugin in the list of plugins and it now says Elementor is required and we do not use that and have no intention of doing so. Your description on Themeforest says WP Bakery is included in the premium plugins with the Theme – what gives?
Well, we completed the process as you outlined and like so many others, it simply broke the ENTIRE SITE. It left the UDesign logo in the header with nothing more than the menu selections. When we attempt to edit the pages in the WP Bakery frontend, it’s as if the Theme is actively blocking that code even though the plugin is active. This is entirely unacceptable and you should be ashamed for delivering such a poorly thought out upgrade that so extensively deviates from such widely developed features from all of your prior versions. We will be reverting back until you deliver a solution and if we are required to redevelop the site it will not be with your Theme as we never want to be put in this deplorable position again!

1) Yes, the WP Bakery is still included in the theme and you can use it by installing/updating it from the Appearance >> Install Plugins.
2) Yes, the WP Bakery will work with the theme no need to worry about it.

We just interacted with Support and this is definitely the worst-case scenario. They confirmed that the customizations made in the ‘udesign_options_page’ from the 3.4.18 version and earlier do not persist with 4.0.0. This is a new Theme essentially and must be treated as such. Forget customizations you made in the prior Child Theme – it will not work and at best you have to redeploy the customizations into a new Child based upon the new 4.0.0. And finally, unlike what was stated just prior, Support confirmed that WP Bakery WILL NOT WORK with 4.0.0, so if your site is built with it you must rebuild with Elementor…draw your own conclusions!

Actually, the thing is to let me explain to you.
As you know we release a very major update of our theme. new functionalities are added to the theme and removed the old ones. Now the customization you made in the theme core files while you are using the old version and those files are updated in the latest version so that’s why the customization you added does not work anymore. We are all here to do the business and as you know everyone tries their best to do it. So we update our theme and currently again working on the new update. We modify our theme like it’s totally different. As much better than the old one. We know some of our users are facing the issue and that is because of their own Customization. If you do a business like a shop so after sometimes if you change the layout of your site then it’s not a big deal because you do good for your business and that’s what we did. That’s all. I am sorry I didn’t mean to hurt and I know you lost your customization but if you think about what we do and why I hope you will understand.
Regarding the WP Bakery nowadays everyone loves Elementor rather than the WP Bakery so we have to maintain our product for our customers that’s why the WP Bakery is no longer working with the theme fully. You can use it at your own risk it will work but maybe some of the widgets will not work and for this, we are not responsible anymore you have to fix it on your own.
