Is it possible with the Porto theme to have a banner on the Shop page that can change based on the category selected in the sidebar? I know a static banner is doable… but is it possible to have this banner be more dynamic?

Actually, for this you have to create blocks for every category in the Porto >> Template Builder check image: https://postimg.cc/f3zxcwbs , and then you have to edit the categories you want as I did: https://postimg.cc/XGZBLXSR and then set the block you created in the edit category page “Banner Block” like this: https://postimg.cc/XpTWBJQZ
In this way, you can show the specific banner on specific categories you want.

This sounds like such a stupid question, and for something that should be so easy, I am just not finding the solution.

As it currently sits, I have hierarchy enabled, but by default, the entire structure is collapsed. I would like to have it completely expanded.

Is there any way to use a relationship ACF Field for Post Grid in Page Builder? ACF Field & ACF Group do show up as drop down choices, but they show they query the actual fields and groups and not their values. For example if I have a CPT for an Artist on a gallery shop, I’d like to show only selected products under this Artist using a Post Grid.

Hello and thanks for the Quick Reply. Just to be clear, I’m referring to WP Bakery Page Builder’s “Post Grid” which does have a Custom Query as a data source and not “Porto Posts Grid”. I was asking if there’s a custom query that can fetch posts from an ACF Relationship Field, that would give amazing strength to the customization of Porto. Data Sources do have ACF Field and ACF Group in the dropdown menu, but if used they return the names of the actual custom fields and groups not their values.

I think there is something broken in the new theme update. While adding images to the product gallery on the product page, the output is showing the images as disproportionate instead of square. The theme is not registering the image url to 150×150.jpg, instead it is taking the default high resolution image from the gallery. What is the fix to this? When I deactivate the theme and change to Storefront, the thumbnails are square again. I certainly know this is a theme bug but cannot find it.

In the Dashboard >> Appearance >> Customize >> WooCommerce >> Product Images you have options to set the product images size as you can see in this image: https://postimg.cc/9rPv5p2Z
The ideal image resolution for the products is equal to or greater than 600×600 pixels. Please use the same size images for all the products multiple sizes will cause unexpected issues on the site.

You pretty much repeated what I already told you I had tested. Anyway, I found out where the error is originating from your theme. It is the file: product-thumbnails.php in the dir \themes\porto\woocommerce\single-product.
If you remove the file from the theme, the original WooCommerce file takes over, and this results in Square thumbnails, like it was in your past updates.
WooCommerce changed a lot of code in their last two updates in these files, and I guess Porto did not push the update for these files to reflect WooCommerce changes. As a result, it broke the square thumbnails.
I am still not sure how to modify the code in the porto theme for this product-thumbnails.php file, so if you can tell us what specifically needs to be modified. Thanks.

In order to disable the header top navigate to the Dashboard >> Porto >> Theme Options >> General >> HTML Blocks there is a section named “Top” edit and remove the content from it as per your need.

The updates still continue to break our client’s sites. The head.php issue is still not resolved. The head.php is empty, so if anyone else has a CSS issue after updating, you’ll need to copy your head.php contents over to the updated version.

We already fixed the issue by copying the head.php from porto folder to our child theme folder, and then updated the Porto theme.

Thanks for the screenshot. Below are all the steps that you asked for.
1- To edit the categories simply edit the page from there you can set the specific category IDs you want to set check the image: https://postimg.cc/v4HNK173
2- By default, there is no option in the widget like this you can hide the show all using custom CSS code but the content of the show all tab will still appear changes requires customization.
3- It is showing the portfolio title there if you change the name of the portfolio title the name will be changed on the page automatically: https://postimg.cc/mPPQhMQc
4- It is showing the categories of the portfolio. check the image: https://postimg.cc/sMmtfk4f the categories you assign to the portfolio will show there.
5- Sorry to say, you cannot edit this because it will let you to that single portfolio page. It is a widget of the portfolio so it will just show the important info and will add the link so that when the user wants to see full details user will click on the link.
6- It is a featured image set in the portfolios as you can see in the image: https://postimg.cc/1VZQVpny you can edit/remove it as per your need.

Hi! I would like to have a custom sidebar for each category in my shop. The idea is to have a sibebar that only show items that are related to just the opened category.
I have made a custom sidebar in Appreance -> Sidebars.
Sidebar is now showing on Appreance -> Widgets area, but when i try to edit this sidebar and save it doesnt save the changes i have made.
I have also made a custom menu in Appreances -> Menus.

Actually, we have added the layout for the single service page using the template builder of our theme, you have to go to Porto >> Template Builder >> Single >> and edit the single service: https://postimg.cc/NKnzQbPT and you will be able to edit that section: https://postimg.cc/NK0PmZrZ now it is applied on all of the services because that template has been assigned to all of the services using the condition: https://postimg.cc/0zb1PzZ6 so you have to assign it to the single service and then create more different layouts and assign to every single service as per your requirements.
