Hi, I am trying to translate the error message “Please select some product options before adding this product to your cart.” I have found it in woocommerce.pot file and translated and uploaded the po and mo files, but it doesn’t seem to work. Any suggestions? Thanks

In order to troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing, we suggest that you first try disabling all third-party plugins (including cache plugins) that are not bundled with XStore. Additionally, please clear the cache of your browser and check again. It is possible that one of the additional plugins is causing the problem.

I just wanted to check with you that a bug that we noticed on engineer theme with wp bakery is fixable. After adding some products in the cart I clicked on checkout and then the cart link (either the one on the steps section or the one in the header). What happens is that all items in the cart removed and cart is empty. If I add another item in the cart then all previous are coming back.

Sorry, haven’t noticed this before but the header search facility doesn’t search keywords in products. For example, we have a brand call Allegion and have 100 products listed under the name Allegion but if we type i the name ALegion into the search facility nothing is found. I know we have run out of support so if this is normal behaviour then that’s fine, we’ll disable your seaarch facility and download a plugin to do a site search instead.

Our theme searches by title, description, SKU, posts, and pages, but does not search by tags, brands, or categories. Please check the available settings in the Theme Options > Header Builder > Search section.

You can try to use an additional plugin to replace our search functionality, just note that we cannot guarantee compatibility with all existing third-party plugins.

To enable the “Advanced Mode For The Product Categories Widget”, please go to Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop elements > Categories.

Please note that our theme or WooCommerce plugin does not have a filter by category widget; there is only a Product categories list widget.

If you need a filter by categories, you will need to look for a third-party filter plugin that has such a filter widget. You can submit your request at https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/, and our development team will analyze how many people need this and if it is possible to do this.

I am continuously getting the below error while installing the XStore core plugin.

Downloading the install package…

Unpacking the package…

The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

Plugin not activated. A higher version of XStore Core is needed for this theme. Please update the plugin.

Also getting the below error while uploading the core plugin manually form the zip file downloaded from themeforest:

I am writing to report a serious problem with XStore publicly exposing a Google Maps API key to the world.

I got the following email from Google compliance… noreply+google-cloud-compliance@google.com :-

“ Subject: Publicly Accessible Google API Key for API Project (id: api-project-XXXXXXXXXXXX) (my project number where the Xs are)

Dear Customer,

We have detected a publicly accessible Google API key associated with the following Google Cloud Platform project:

Project API Project (id: api-project-616612516165) with API key Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (My API key where x’s are)

The key was found at the following URL: https://MYDOMAIN.com/contact-us/

We believe that you or your organization may have inadvertently published the affected API key in public sources or on public websites (for example, credentials mistakenly uploaded to a service such as GitHub.)

Please note that as the project/account owner, you are responsible for securing your keys. Therefore, we recommend that you take the following steps to remedy this situation:

1. If this key is intended to be public (or if a publicly accessible key isn’t preventable): o Log in to the Google Cloud Console and review the API and billing activity on your account, ensuring the usage is in line with what you expected. o Add API key restrictions to your API key, if applicable. 2. If this key was NOT meant to be public: o Regenerate the compromised API key: Search for Credentials in the cloud console platform, Edit the leaked key, and use the Regenerate Key button to rotate the key. For more details, review the instructions on handling compromised GCP credentials. o Take immediate steps to ensure that your API key(s) are not embedded in public source code systems, stored in download directories, or unintentionally shared in other ways. o Add API key restrictions to your API key, if applicable. The security of your Google Cloud Platform account(s) is important to us. “

When I look at the page source I see the following line exposing the API key:-

I know my XStore support has expired, but I am here to report a potential serious problem, which Google thinks exists by your theme exposing the API key in this way publicly. Surely the API should pass to Google Maps in some hidden way?

The following page from Google suggests alternative ways of passing the API key through REST or other ways. As mentioned, I already restricted the key, but I am still concerned it is being passed in a way that is least secure:-

Regarding the use of the Google Maps API key, we are not sure why Google would have sent you a message as they explain the correct usage of the key on their website here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#add_key. Additionally, Google provides this method on its website: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/map-simple#maps_map_simple-typescript, as shown in the screenshot you provided (https://prnt.sc/duDoeF4Zhs0P).

Please note that the methods outlined here: https://cloud.google.com/docs/authentication/api-keys, are intended for use as a login/registration API on a website and are not suitable for maps.

If you wish to hide the Google Maps API key, several files need to be rewritten. However, this only applies to websites built on Elementor as the mapping functionality for sites built on WPBakery is provided not by us but by the GMAPS for WPBakery Page Builder plugin, and we cannot make changes to its code.
