The instructions you are referring to are for Ella – Multipurpose Shopify Theme OS 2.0 and include the index.json file. We recommend that you update to Ella 6.5.3 (the latest version). Hi Ella Theme – your URGENT support. With Ella theme, I built a site that now as F rating for speed in GTMETRIX. I hired few people to boost the speed but all of them said that Ella theme is slow and compliated. One wrote this “I tried a lot to improve the speed of the store without disturbing any functionality of the store but it didn’t work. When I do custom coding on the back end, it affects the functionality of the store. This is very strange. There is something wrong with the theme. All files are interconnected, when I do custom coding in one file it affects other related files. Therefore, it is impossible to improve it without losing any functionality. So, I suggest you check the theme from a good theme developer. And on the other hand, I suggest you change the theme because this theme is not so good, it would be much better if you change the theme. There are many fast and attractive themes like Dawn, Impulse and Prestige” .... I do know that Ella theme is really good and I really dont want to move away to other themes. How can this speed issue be fixed? How can the above comment of the exper be addressed? If i subscribe to Support, will Ella team look at the speed issue? Hi, I tried the demo and when I click on the blue it looks for products that have the blue variant but doesn’t show it as active among the products. The size is the same. Is there a reason that “Frequently Bought Together” discount module “SHOWS” on main Ella Default template no problem, but it “DOESNT SHOW” in CAROS theme? Issue with Mobile Access: “Enable Parallax for Mobile” and Add to Cart Button

The first problem concerns the configuration of the confirmation button on the mobile screen within the desired product. When clicking on this button, the name should change to “Add to Cart.” Could you help me address this issue?
The second problem is related to the “Enable Parallax for Mobile” option. I configured this option to make the “Add to Cart” button appear when the customer is viewing the product details. However, when the customer swipes up or down on the mobile screen, the name of the related products, recently viewed products, and latest posts block is displayed. This hinders the customer experience and may lead them to abandon the purchase. How can I resolve this issue?
Additionally, I would like information on how to update my theme without losing any information. I appreciate your assistance in advance.

Yes, you can add more than 9 but you in the options for the brand slider there is a selection that states “Items Per Row” The max this can be set to is 9.. I want to be able to select all. Otherwise there is no point in having a slider that is on a loop as it doesn’t show all the brands.

A friend of mine has this template and it’s a great one… although I found an issue… and keep in mind… no one edited the code for this:
It looks likes there are a lot of duplicating of elements on our product page with identical ids, causing malformed HTML. This can cause several issues including not ranking as well on Google SEO. It might be related to the pop-out cart or some quick add features.
I don’t want to provide the URL in this form or thread. Perhaps you know the issue and can let me know how to fix it? If I can fix it… I will buy the template.
Any fixes? I just looked and saw that your own demo has this issue… here is how you can see it… in chrome… right click and inspect the page… then go to the warnings section… there will be over 100 of them… the typical one will be, “new-ella-demo.myshopify.com/:1 [DOM] Found 4 elements with non-unique id #swatch-form-6688355680346-list-result-lis” – there will be dozens of that one type (among others)... so no need to have me do the song and dance of sending you a custom ticket… then we go back and forth and after 2 weeks either you will have a solution or blame something else. You can see it on your own demo. Just let me know what the deal is… perhaps put out an update and I will buy the theme because it is an outstanding theme… and I want it for my own personal project.

the problem is I can’t have a live site being worked on… or you all removing my google tags, CSS work, etc. Can you just tell me the code and files to put it in? And when will you have the next update?

I did buy it… lets hope you fix those issues and let me know how to fix them… as I code myself… so just give me some guidance so I don’t have to spend hours hunting for it. I can’t have some stranger… changing around the code and such in my site… among other things. Those issues shouldn’t be there to begin with. I shouldn’t have to give up site security, corporate knowledge, pricing, customer info, product proprietary info, etc. because of an issue? And the last time I let some random, person – they deleted core code and messed things up worse. And when is the Ella update ready or will be ready? How do we fix these issues now… I am not allowed and cannot give access… your staff haven’t been properly vetted. Why can’t you provide instruction?

so I gotta setup another account to do this? And how will I know which files to use? Will they at least tell me that as I do not wish to have to reinstall and overwrite my site… keep in mind, this isn’t custom work – your theme is broken in a way. And when will we see this known issue in an update? I just don’t see why I gotta risk customer privacy, company proprietary information or have homework work to do because your template has obvious errors… it’s a great template otherwise but has issues. Why can’t you all fix the issues… since they also happen to everyone else… and everywhere else… my situation isn’t unique… even your own demo’s have the same issues… and have your people fix them… and then upload the files they fixed… where we can go grab them? It makes no sense to do these one off situations… customer per customer… unless it’s because others don’t know about these issues yet… if so, then you will get a bunch of people coming to you for the same thing if they do learn how the theme has some internal issues. But if you are good at changing in code we will write you an instruction file if it is good for you. Please help us submit a ticket so we can reply to you directly.
We think we make some misunderstandings for you. Our idea is: You just bought the theme yesterday, so you may not make css or any custom changes much. You can upload your theme source into a test acc and then let us help you on that acc. After we finish, you can use it with no worry about it again. In our next ella, it will be resolved so no need to worry in our next version. From what you said, we think you are afraid of using the theme for clients and have to resolve manually for them. So if we misunderstood you, hope you can forgive as we have tried to provide you the fastest way.

I don’t have a desire to do a test account… and upload anything… on something that is a known issue and shows up on everyone’s template/site including your own demo sites. BUT… I am good at changing the code myself… so let me know how I can submit a ticket and reference this thread and I will do that.
I am “afraid” to not only have my friends buy and use it… my immediate concern and why I bought the theme is for my own site. I never said this thread was about my clients… I said I had a friend’s site use this theme… that he bought… and I helped him… and I noticed these issues… which were alarming as I liked the theme so much… I wanted it for my own site.
And I assume the “next ella” will be a free update – right? You aren’t going to force us to buy a new version to get these fixes?
And FYI – it does affect the theme… the jacked up HTML can cause Google to think it’s a faulty site and could affect google indexing and ranking.

Hi guys! Love the theme. I’m having an issue with the cart totals not being able to be changed, or items deleted. I am using a third party shipping plugging and have enabled Shopify CCS. I have reached out to the app developer and they have investigated and said there is an issue with the theme and Shopify key values not updating when products in the cart are deleted / or the number of products are changed.
