Yes that is correct, it has to do that on a mobile screen or it would be very difficult for the user to navigate. All responsive sites do that, its much more user friendly.

You can turn that off by turning off the responsiveness in theme options, that will give you the fixed desktop version on all screens.

How did you udpate the theme? We recommend replacing the current Avada folder via FTP.

It sounds like the new version was not installed properly. I would reinstall it again.

No worries, your site is not lost, and is an easy fix.

Did you read the READ ME FIRST file with the new download. It sounds like you still have the old plugins activated, the new theme has integrated plugins and both cant be installed or it will not work.

I would log on via FTP and remove the old plugins from the “wp-content > plugins” folder, then go back to tyour admin and hit refresh.

Themeforest themes do not have auto updates, you always have to check our item page or our support forum for when we release new versions. Then you need to download the theme again from your downloads tab and reinstall it.

Its best to do that via FTP. Download the new theme package from your downloads tab, extract the “avada.zip” file then copy the new folder into your “wp-content > themes” folder and it will ask you to replace the old one. Replace it.

And v2.0 and higher have changed a lot, we use an entirely new theme options panel. Please see the READ ME FIRST.pdf file that is included with your new download. It has very important info about updating, for example, the plugins are now integrated into the theme so a script runs to deactiate the old ones. Check out that file before you udpate, and its always good to backup your current theme folder, and also export and of your slides that you ahve made with the layer slider.

Yes, we have made video tutorials for each of our sliders.

Open up the “documenation” folder and inside is a “index.html” file, double click that file to open it, then you will see the table of contents there, find the slider setion and read through it and watch the video tutorial for whichever slider you want to use.

That is the best way to learn is the video tutorials.

The Rev Slider is not actually broken, something is just not working right. What version of WP are you using and what version of the Revolution Slider are you using? You should be using WP 3.5 and Avada v2.0.5. If you are using WP 3.5 and an older version of Avada, then that is what is cuaing the issue. Update the theme.

Also, the Rev. Slider is not our own, we simply buy an extended license for it so we can include it with Avada for our users. If there are ever bugs with it, then the author who made it has to update it then we will include the new version with our Avada update.

The author of the slider is very good about fixing things if they are broke. For example, when WP 3.5 came out, they had to release a new plugin version that was compatible with it.

It looks as if you just need to update Avada so you get the new Rev. Slider plugin. Please read the READ ME FIRST file that comes with your download, specificalyl #5, it has important info about the plugins.

And we are now trying to move all support to our support forum. Its much easier for us to chek things in one place, and the support forum is better for the user as well, its easier to use, easier to repsond and track, is fully searchable and anyone can respond to your thread and help.

Happy New Year! Yes, I’m running 2.0.5 and I’m assuming that is LayerSlider 3.6 – don’t see where I can tell which version, but the old plugins were deleted and now the layer sliders are part of the theme…the banner is still there so I’ll email you the login info.

Sent the login info…I’m also a little puzzled as to why the LayerSlider #2 isn’t working for me. I have it selected in my homepage 3 template, and it is blank on the home page.

If your slider is not showing up, then you must have a missing image or some off settings in Global Settings.

You can’t isnert a URL, you need to isnert the actual address, as I posted before. Dont paste the URL of the address.

For example, if you want london, UK, simply insert …

London, United Kingdom

You cant isnert a google map URL, it has to be an actual address. For example if you want London, UK then insert London, United Kingdom into the address field. It cant take a web URL.

Thanks for your reply about the plugin issue. It is interesting that you are required to add plugins into your build? As for the update, should I remove the plugins (ie deinstall or remove from ftp) to see if the site will not crash. Also as another point, in the documents, I do not see the first video. there is space for it, but no video there. Actually just a facebook widget?

Yes we are required to do that with plugins now, its not our choice but it does make it easier for us and the user, which is why they have done that.

The video shows up for us, I just checked it. Make sure you are viewing the new v2.0.5 docs.

Oh one more thing I just realized. When you activate the child theme, you need to move the framework folder from main theme folder to the child theme folder.

Thanks for the comments! You are on an older version in 1.1, but you can cahnge the number of images in theme options. I belive its on the basic tab or appearance tab. There are 2 settings, one for flex slider and one for posts slideshows. The posts slideshows is the one you want.

Also if you want to upgrade, the new version is v2.0.5. Its free to update, just download it from your downlaods tab and reinstall. But please read the READ ME FIRST file you get with the new downloaded package, v2.0 and higher has changed a lot and is more feature rich with new theme options panel.

Either way, make sure you put the address all on one line. For example, insert London, United Kingdom in the address field and it will show that location.
