To be fair… Kallyas was a great theme and CMS, and support, when “alive”, was quite decent and friendly. I just think the guys have been fully overwhelmed with support tickets and simply didn’t and don’t have the infrastructure to operate a support channel. They’ve probably just given up and thrown the towel in the face of events… but without issuing an official statement of some sort to the customer community, which is not good. I know other plugin authors who have experienced the same thing (impossibility to operate a support channel). So you’re either a big firm with a super solid infrastructure with dozens of support agents to manage your support channel, or you’re a tiny operation with 2-4 people where the task just becomes impossible with over 50k instances of your theme running around out there. I agree that what’s bad is the total silence and the fact that, as some have stated on the forum, the “Renew Support” page is still there. It shouldn’t be and Themeforest should talk to Kallyas and take it down, because otherwise yes, it looks like a scam. Can’t lure customers into paying for something that doesn’t exist. I raised this a few months ago with CodeCanyon and after two months of emails, I got a refund for the last Support Renewal payment I made. I told them it’s their responsibility too to control what they sell indirectly through their marketplace and to detect non-compliances. Anyway… what sucks the most for me is having to migrate my whole work to a new, more robust theme and CMS. I guess one always learns something new….

We’ve used Hogash / Kallyas for years but last year they effectively shut down their support, or at least that’s when we noticed it was shut down. They keep their support website active but they stopped replying to support tickets.

When I revisited their support last month, I had hoped they were active again so we purchased a support extension and posted some tickets. Sadly, we’re going on 4 weeks without a response.

Looks like they’re out of the support business but don’t mind selling support extensions.

Unfortunately, what was once a reputable theme company seems to have deteriorated into a scam. Time to elevate the matter to Theme Forest.

Hello, I I have been given a Kallyas website to run. The update has never been done for years, so it is Kallyas 1.5 running on it. I wanted to buy a new license. The question is can I run an update from 1.5 to the actual version with no risks ?

I have 5 licenses and submitted a ticket 9/20 and still waiting a response. Similar to others, did an update as well and had visual issues on one of the sites, also critical errors when updating PHP to current.

After almost 10 years of using this theme, almost exclusively, I had to hang it up. There are now too many errors that make the theme inoperable. Attempts to reach the dev team have gone without reply for over a year now (with support). I have a large collection of sites running this theme, and it has broken many of them.

There’s an SQLi vulnerability in search.php line 22. You must sanitize $_GET[’s’].
