I’m not sure why — but the Salient dashboard is showing up as HTML… (list of links) and a gigantic vertical scroll.
and none of the images are showing up in the Salient Dashboard… (the salient logo, the demo thumbnails, etc.)
Hey AaronPhelps, that sounds like the admin stylesheets are not loading correctly in your setup. Have you tried to reinstall the theme / disable third party plugins to rule out a conflict? If so, please reach out via the contact form on my author page in regards.

I’ve created a Global Section that I’ve set up to be my “Copyright Area”. So in the Salient Footer options, I’ve disabled the standard copyright area. In the Global Section settings, I’ve set the Display Location to Footer, and the condition to True Everywhere. The footer works fine on mobile, but doesn’t show up on desktop. If I resize my browser window to mobile size and scroll down, then resize my window to desktop size, it then shows up. Also, if I enable the Footer Copyright Area in the Salient options, my old footer shows up and the new one (global section) then also shows. So I think there’s some sort of code conflict occuring. I tried disabling my caching plugin and reloading the page, so I don’t think that’s causing the issue. Any ideas?
Also when I was Previewing the global section, I noticed there’s a loading delay and animation where it comes in from the bottom. However there’s no Row animation enabled on my global section. Any idea why that’s happening as well?

The columns in your global section footer are set to be animated, and since the section is very slim at the bottom of the page, there’s not enough scrolling space to get the animations triggered. You can adjust the animation offset of those columns to 100%, or disable the column animations to correct the display.

Hey there, when using the portfolio element with category filters: is it possible to add the filter to the link of the portfolio page and activate that filter this way? Like example.com/portfolio/#design could open the portfolio page but instead of showing All or the default category show design category instead? Thx, Dorian

That can be accomplished with the Post Loop Builder element. You can link directly to categories by using the URL structure example.com/portfolio?grid-filter=graphic-design

Hey there, I didn’t re-enable it, but I didn’t realize I had two Site Ground Optimizer plugins (one for security and another for speed), so I initially deactivated the security optimizer, which wasn’t affecting it.
It appears to work when I deactivate the siteground speed optimizer plugin.
On my live site I have these same plugins activated with no issue. Has something changed?
Hey JayCarver, nothing would have changed which would cause an incompatibility with SiteGround. However, it’s very possible that the cache for the assets (JS,CSS) that SiteGround creates persisted through the update in your setup and would need to be cleared.
I’ve cleared the cache a dozen times in multiple ways and still have the same result. The same siteground plugin is running on the live site that uses the previous version of the theme.
The CSS which is loading on your staging site through the site ground optimized cached file is not the current CSS of v17 and appears to be from an older version. If you would like us to take a closer look at that, kindly open a ticket on the support forum in regards
Cool update!! I always love seeing the new updates. How do you turn on the new Lenis theme styling? I don’t see it as an option under theme skins.

Oh cool, okay. I saw that but thought I was supposed to be looking for some option called Lenis. Thanks! The other thing was I turned on the new page transition option but nothing different happens when navigating from page to page. Same as usual. Browser loading, then immediate loading of the page. Doens’t matter to me, it’s cool to have, just thought I would let you know. I tried it in Firefox and Safari, same thing.

The new page transitions (powered by the View Transitions API) are currently only available in the most modern browsers. It is a progressive enhancement feature.

Hey toolbox101, It’s a global option that will affect every page. However, we are not currently enabling it in Safari due to performance issues. If you’re not seeing any difference after enabling it, please open a ticket on the support forum in regards.

Love this theme and thanks for the recent major update. Been using it for around 10 years. My only small complaint is that the Woocommerce shopping layout (single page) is very dated and minimal. Could you please add focus to this area on your upcoming updates? Thanks!

Hey wpstore71, Yes, Salient includes an RTL stylesheet. As for translation, Salient is translation-ready, but we don’t include pre-translated strings for Arabic.

It appears there could be a conflict from another plugin which is causing it. You should be able to correct it by adding the following snippet into the custom CSS box located in the Salient options panel > General Settings > CSS/Script related tab: https://pastebin.com/J5j1jNqW

Hello! Loving the theme, but any of the demos I have imported only have a static image for the main landing home page. I would like this to be a slider. I click edit on the row that holds the background image and theres no other options. Would appreciate any help! Thanks

If you want to use a slider, you’ll need to use the Nectar Slider plugin or the Carousel page builder element set to the “Simple Slider” type.

You can activate the “Transparent Header Effect” in the Salient options > Transparent header effect tab.
You’ll then need to activate it on each pages you want it by using the “Force Transparency On Navigation”.
There would also be a way to set that globally through a snippet in your child theme by using the “nectar_activate_transparent_header” filter. If you would like help creating that, feel free to open a ticket on the support forum in regards

Hey thanks I’m aware of those two settings. I would like for the navigation background to appear once it scrolls past the header because it gets hard to read as the user scrolls down the page.

Hey JayCarver, the transparency will remove when scrolling if you disable the option labeled “Header Permanent Transparent” in the Transparent Header Effect tab.
