Hi, when I checked my website’s access log, this line of code (see below) keeps getting executed every minute/second and random products keep getting added into the database. The random IP addresses are from all over the world.
I have deleted the Yith WC Wishlist plugin and finally even deleted the plugin itself plus the tables in the database, purged my server cache and it is still executing. Can you advice on what is this line of code and how can I stop it? Thank you.

Hello, @17WS,
Thanks for providing the log details — you’re dealing with a likely case of automated bot abuse exploiting an endpoint (add_to_wishlist) even after the related plugin (YITH WooCommerce Wishlist) has been deleted. Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening and how you can fix it.
This line from your log:
GET /product-category/my-product-name/?_wpnonce=748aef8d2d&add_to_wishlist=51368
is a GET request being made to add a product (ID: 51368) to the wishlist. Even though you’ve deleted the YITH Wishlist plugin and purged cache:
- The endpoint still exists, or
- Bots think it does, so they keep hammering it
- These are automated bots scanning and abusing common WooCommerce plugin endpoints
✅ Steps to Fix the Issue:
1. Block the Endpoint at the Server Level
Add this rule to your .htaccess file (Apache) or nginx.conf (Nginx) to block requests with add_to_wishlist in the query string.
Apache (.htaccess):
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (^|&)add_to_wishlist= [NC]
RewriteRule ^ - [F,L]
</IfModule>
Nginx:
if ($arg_add_to_wishlist) {
return 403;
}
This will immediately block those malicious requests.
2. Check for Remaining Plugin Code
Sometimes plugin files remain even after deletion via the dashboard.
- Check for any remaining YITH files in:
/wp-content/plugins/ /wp-content/mu-plugins/ /wp-content/themes/porto-child/ (in case it was customized)
- Search for add_to_wishlist in your entire site using:
grep -r "add_to_wishlist" /path/to/your/wordpress/
- Install a security plugin like Wordfence or iThemes Security and run a full malware scan
- Change your admin passwords
- Check for unknown user accounts, especially with admin privileges
- Review the wp_users and wp_usermeta tables in your database
3. Harden Your Site
Since you’re seeing random products being added (which shouldn’t happen from wishlist actions), consider that your site might be partially compromised.
Immediate Actions:
Further, you can contact your hosting provider and ask for help.

Hi Porto, the code works! Thank you so so much for your kind assistance!
When should I remove the code or just leave it there? If I leave it, will this code affect the YITH WC Wishlist plugin if I do a re-install? If I remove it, will the “bug” come back?
Previously I did a site scan too and nothing was detected. As for your last advice, “Review the wp_users and wp_usermeta tables in your database” what do I look for?
Await your reply. Thanks.
Hello, @17WS,
I’m really glad to hear the code worked and helped stop those unwanted requests — you’re most welcome!
Should You Remove the Code?
It’s safe to leave the block code in place permanently, especially since it’s only targeting suspicious/malicious traffic trying to access the add_to_wishlist parameter without the plugin actually handling it.
If you do reinstall the YITH WooCommerce Wishlist plugin in the future and wish to use the wishlist functionality again, you’ll just need to remove or adjust the code.
If You Remove It, Will the Bug Come Back?
Technically, yes — if bots continue to target that endpoint, and if the plugin or theme doesn’t properly protect it, the same kind of behavior may reappear. So it’s best to leave the code until/unless you’re ready to properly use the plugin again and can monitor it.
Reviewing wp_users and wp_usermeta
Even though your scan didn’t detect anything, it’s wise to manually check for any suspicious users or roles.

Noted. Appreciate your advice and assistance. Have a great day! Thank you
Hi Porto, I re-installed the Yith WC Wishlist and the “bug” came back, I did not remove the rule code, its still there.
I noticed that when the Wishlist plugin is deactivated, there is a message (see below) that pops up at where the Wishlist heart icon is on the single product page. I am not able to deactivate or remove the Wishlist plugin else this message will show on the page. How do I delete/hide the message? This looks like a template generated message. Await your reply. Thank you.

Hi Porto, There is any way for this url: https://candleartesoteric.com/candles-rituals/ (father cathegory) to not showing all the products? Because I guess is making me duplication because those products I already have in other categories in my webside.
Just if you know let me know how to change it and I will do
thanks,
but just for this cathegory url; not for the others
Hello @Joaquim_,
No, WooCommerce does not provide a built-in option (in the admin settings) to exclude products from showing on a specific category archive page.

Hello friends! After a few years of not using the template, I’m trying to activate it but it won’t let me. I get a message that the template is on another site. I don’t have any other site that this template is on, in the past I tried the template on a domain that I deleted after a few days. I’m trying to log in to support, but since I forgot my password I can’t. I’ve been trying to recover my password several times but I don’t receive an email to recover my password. I sent a letter but there’s no response. I want to use the template, please solve my problem. Thanks in advance!
Hello, @Eavigal,
I have reset your purchase code. Please try to re-register the theme again with the same purchase code on your desired domain, and let me know the result.

I have purchased 2 copies of the theme and I’m having trouble on my latest install getting the template builder, header & footer builder to work. I’ve tried WP Bakery, Visual Composer and deactivated both and all I get is a screen with a bunch of code when I try to edit it. Without being able to edit the header or footer on a page, I am stuck. I’m using the demo import for Creative 2 template. Thank you!

Hi P-THEMES!
I know but the report from Wordfence says: “The Slider Revolution plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 6.7.36”, therefore 6.7.35 also has the vulnerability.
Thanks!
Hello, @ZilogZ80A,
Ok then, please download the very latest version of the Slider Revolution plugin 6.7.37 from here, https://fex.net/s/ft8blzv and manually update on your site.

Hello Porto Support Team,
After the latest theme update, I am experiencing issues with the Product Type Medium widget and similar product widgets on my homepage:
The Add to Cart, Wishlist, Quick View, and Compare buttons are no longer visible on the homepage, although the widgets work correctly on other pages.
The product prices are now displaying with a much larger font size than before.
I have already tried:
Disabling all plugins (including YITH plugins and caching plugins)
Clearing all caches (browser, Elementor, LiteSpeed)
Verifying that the Product Type Medium widget (and similar widgets) is used on the homepage
Applying custom CSS to force button display
Despite these attempts, the buttons remain invisible and the prices are too large.
Could you please advise how to restore the correct button display and price typography on the homepage for these widgets after the update?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,

Hi, I would like to know if the theme includes the functionality to install a cookie acceptance popup (in accordance with European legislation). If so, where can I find this functionality?
Hello, @planinlux,
No, we do not have any cookie acceptance pop-up, but you can try with any third party plugin that better suits your requirements.

To have the product image swap on hover, these are the instructions:
Please navigate to Porto >> Template Builder >> Post Type and edit the particular Post Type that has been used for the products on your site. After that, please edit the featured image element and turn ON the option “Show Content on hover.”
I am using the Shop 52 demo with Elementor for a website.
I had the Classic Editor plugin enabled because of which the options were not showing for the “Product List Type”. Looks like this is built using the Block Editor. Is there an Elementor version or am I doing something incorrectly?
Hello, @aashishbisht,
Post Type builder is only available with the default Gutenberg editor of WordPress. It’s not available with the Elementor page builder, so please disable the classic editor plugin and then try to edit again. After changing, you can again enable the classic editor plugin.
