I’m interested in purchasing the Basel WordPress theme (14906749) and would like to clarify a number of points before proceeding. Please see my questions below:
1. IMPORTANT POINT: Demo Import & Page/Section Selection
If I import the demo content, will my site replicate the live preview exactly 100% (layouts, fonts, colors, sections, widget areas)?
Is it possible to import only specific pages or sections (for example, the homepage from Demo 1, the About page from Demo 3) rather than the full demo set?
Can I build the site in a modular way — selecting sections individually and assembling them across pages — or is the demo import an “all-or-nothing” approach? (because i read comments about this and some people have problem with this case – demo data), also i need to know if i can change the full colors bakcground of theme, my store logo and Interior Design is all about RED color.
2. Homepage & Site Setup
After demo import, what is the correct procedure to set a specific page as the homepage and avoid the “404 – Nothing here” or broken layout errors when editing with builders like Elementor?
If there are multiple homepage demo versions included, can I switch between them easily (without breaking design/customization) and safely revert if I change my mind?
3. Customization & Page Builder Compatibility
Are all sections and templates of the theme fully customizable via Elementor (or the included builder) — or are there parts that require editing theme files manually (PHP, template overrides, etc)?
Have any known conflicts between the theme and Elementor (or other major page-builders) been resolved in the latest version?
What best practices do you recommend for avoiding fatal errors (e.g., “recent-projects-widget.php” or similar) during theme or builder updates?
4. SEO, URL Structure & Content Types
Does the theme support custom URL structures (permalinks) without forcing prefixes such as /blog/? For example, can I have https://website.com/project/my-project instead of https://website.com/blog/project/my-project?

Are there any known compatibility issues with the current version of WordPress (and major plugins) that might affect future updates?

1. It will look exactly as per our demo in terms of layout and theme settings. But some content and images will be different and the whole dummy content is lighter (contains less products and posts). And yes, you can import additional pages like contact us and about us separately. You can customize all the colors on your website via the Dashboard.
2. The home page will be set automatically so you don’t need to do anything extra. You can change the home page at any time in Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading.
3. Basel is based on WPBakery page builder. Elementor is not supported.
4. Our theme is well-structured and SEO optimized. But anyway, for the best SEO you will need to use an extra plugin like Yoast, which is fully compatible with Basel.
5. Basel is well-optimized for performance and speed. You can also increase the page speed score with extra plugins like WP Rocket.
6. It includes WPBakery page builder and Slider Revolution 6. They can be updated independently via the Dashboard.
7. You can see how the Contact Form 7 works on our demo. You can use any other popular contact forms plugin without any problems. Yes, you can use video as a background for the row which will loop and don’t show additional related content.
8. We usually reply within 24 hours in working days. Support includes help with installation, configuration and bug fixes and is provided by our specialists via our support forum platform.

Hello, I have a small website with 60 products and I use attributes to filter them on the Shop page. Specifically, I use the “Woocommerce Layered Nav” widget provided by the Basel theme. However, when the filter is activated on the website, the products are filtered correctly, but the browser continues to “work” until the WordPress error page opens. Is this a known bug? I solved it myself by switching from PHP8.3 to PHP8.1. For some reason, this issue only occurs with PHP8.3.

Hi, can u pls help, i have products price range 20,000 to 40,000, but why the price filter shows from 0 to 1000 then 1000 to 2000 etc ? why not just show 20,000 , 30,000 and 40,000? how can we edit the price filter here? thanks

This theme is not compatible with PHP 8.2 or higher. After upgrading to PHP 8.2, I am encountering 500 errors on some product pages. I tested the same products using the default Twenty Twenty-Five theme, and they worked without any issues, which confirms that the problem is theme-related.

I have noticed there’s a problem possible a bug in the display of variation products in category pages or sliders. Once, on desktop display, the price was shown and when hovered it was changed to the caption Select Options. Now, they’re both price and caption appear (as in mobile) and there is no hover effect for that section (the hover works for displaying the heart icon for marking as a favorite). As a result, the swatches are not properly aligned too. I’ve try to disactivate all plugins to solve it, but to no avail. Any idea?

It seems that your Alternative shop hover style is broken. I switched, for now, to Button on hover, which works as expected. I guess it broke in v5.4 when you made serious changes to the CSS. Given that Button on hover works for me, I’ve decided not to go down the rabbit hole of trying to fix Alternative. But you’d better do it.

I’m experiencing a recurring issue with the basel-font.woff2 file. In the browser console I constantly see this error:
Failed to decode downloaded font: basel-font.woff2?v=5.9.0 OTS parsing error: invalid sfntVersion
I have already:
Replaced the font files (.woff2, .woff, .ttf) with the original ones from the latest Basel package (v5.9.0).
Tried overriding the @font-face declaration in a child theme and even forced it to load only .woff.
Cleared all caches (LiteSpeed + Cloudflare).
But the error still appears, even though the file basel-font.woff2 is valid (20 KB and downloads fine when accessed directly).
Is this a known issue with Basel v5.9.0?

You can fix it by applying patch # 676552. To do this, go to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Patcher, find the corresponding patch and click on the “Apply” button. Let us know if it works for you.
