Hi, how can I make posts exclusive posts in Free News, please?
With regards
How do i change the logo on the urbanoberserver starter theme? i tried through theme panel, uploaded a new logo but it keeps showing the demo logo
never mind problem solved
Interested in moving to Newspaper but have a few concerns. Seems the latest version of WPBakery bundled is 8.7. I have 8.7.3 installed. I know I would be to deactivate my version to use Newspaper’s modified version. But should there be any backward compatibility concerns?
Also, as I have a good chunk of post done in Bakery, I just want to be sure that Bakery and tagDiv Composer can run at the same time.
Hi,
The WPBakery plugin we include with the theme is not modified in any way. We provide the latest version of this plugin inside the theme package, at the the time when the theme is updated. Right now we provide 8.7.2, and the next theme update will include 8.7.3 or whatever version is the latest at that time. You don’t have to downgrade your version if you decide to use our theme, or use the WPBakery plugin from our theme package.
However, we recommend switching to our composer if possible, which is in some ways required. If you install a theme demo or import content from our cloud library, these can only be edited with the composer. So at least the homepage and other pages that may be imported with a demo, and the templates (post, category, etc.) need to be customized with the composer. For the rest of your pages you can continue using WPBakery.
While we don’t usually recommend building the post content with WPBakery, there shouldn’t be any issues because of that, or at least not major issues.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Regards, Simion C.
I know it says that JS has been reduced to remove bloat. Is this template built using Bakery or Elementor… Please advise.
Hi,
Our theme is built with the composer -> https://tagdiv.com/live-visual-builder/
All the theme demos -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/newspaper-prebuilt-websites/?demo-type=all and everything from the cloud library -> https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All is built with the composer.
We recommend using the composer in order to take advantage of all the theme’s features. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Hi, ready for Wordpress 7 or should we wait for an update? Thanks
Hi,
We’ve been using The RC versions for Wordpress 7 for about a month now. It worked correctly with the theme. Maybe there can be specific isolated cases, but until they are identified it can be said that the theme works fine with the Wordpress 7.
Regards, Simion C.
Great, I’ll go ahead then. Thank you Simion. Regards
Hi Tagdiv, how can I setup Smart List? The Smart templates are no longer at the bottom of the text editor.
Regards
Hi,
That depends on the type of post template you use. So in order to use a smart list with the older standard post templates, please make sure the standard pack plugin is active https://prnt.sc/tgzEpB8crFgf Then the options you mentioned will be available at the bottom where you mentioned. And then you can use these options https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists-7/
Or, if you are using cloud post templates, meaning these ones https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/ Then smart lists can be created like so https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/

Hi, the global single template for Free News is not working. I have tried several times, but not working. I’m not happy with this.
As I mentioned, I will check the issue as soon as you can provide working access for the website. The admin credentials you provided are not working unfortunately.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi Simon, I have sent it. Thanks in anticipation, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards
Hi. I used Smart List 1, but it’s not reflected in the Free News Single Post Template. How can this be resolved?
I explained the procedure via the email. Please check the email.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi Simion C.,
Thank you so much for the detailed guidance and support.
I truly appreciate the time you took to carefully investigate the issue and provide such a clear step-by-step explanation. I can now see that the cloud post template issue has been resolved, and all posts are now using the intended template.
Your explanation regarding creating a dedicated smart list cloud template was also extremely helpful and easy to follow. The screenshots, instructions, and workflow breakdown made the process much clearer for me.
Honestly, this level of support means a lot, especially while actively building and structuring a growing digital publishing platform. Thank you once again for your patience, professionalism, and willingness to help beyond just a basic response.
I genuinely appreciate it.
Warm regards,
Hi, how can I set the single post template for Free News Global so it is used by all articles? I see that they keep defaulting to another template I do not know of. Screenshot;
I am seeing this; https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/60581492?key=084d9e9737538aec1c04e7e7acfa5824
And when I set it with the composer, it will now affect only 1 single post here; Screenshot; https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/60581526?key=e30253838c33555db1d24b4d111153f6
The single post template is not working; https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/60585838?key=904a088f6000251cc2d6ac091a288912
All the single post templates – Free News are now showing the default single post template as seen in the above screenshot. So, when I add from the cloud, it will read Single Post Template 2, and that means I have to manually add them to every article. Is it how it’s supposed to work, please?
Regards
Hi,
That’s not how its supposed to work, meaning that you don’t have to set the post template for each post. The global template you set either here https://prnt.sc/DJs-XJXgOx2W or here https://prnt.sc/WU-4H7YGX-PT or here https://prnt.sc/zmP9sQ8yu1To should apply to all the posts. On your website I see that a different cloud post template is displayed, not the one from the demo. Something must be wrong. I will take a closer at this issue, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login (user and pas) for the website. I will check as soon as possible.
Regards, Simion C.
Sent an email, thanks greatly.
Hi Simon,
I have sorted out the Single Post Template. I went to the Post Settings in the theme panel, selected it, and resolved it. Thanks greatly
Now, how about SmartList? I can’t seem to get hold of that, even when I select the template; it’s not reflecting on the front side of NewsPaper
Hi,
I noticed that the single post page suddenly switched to dark mode, and I’m not sure what caused it. The rest of the site appears normal, but the individual article page is displaying a dark background unexpectedly.
Please, how can this be fixed?

RESOLVED!
Important warning for anyone planning to do serious custom work on a WordPress theme.
We previously purchased several themes from this company, and everything worked fine while we used them in their generic form. However, once we started doing more serious custom design and template adjustments, the problems started one after another.
The homepage and other pages broke multiple times. Instead of displaying normally, code appeared on the pages. This happened several times during the day and night. Every time the homepage breaks, the tagDiv Cloud Library plugin gets deactivated, so I have to manually activate it again in order for the homepage to return to normal.
We contacted support, but for ten days now we have not received any concrete solution. Instead of actually investigating the issue, we keep receiving replies that do not solve anything. They mention redirects to other websites, even though in our case this is expected because we use ads, which is a completely normal practice for blogs and portals.
Another major issue is that this theme does not come with its own child theme, which is a serious downside if you want to make deeper custom changes. When you customize a theme without a child theme, you risk display issues, broken pages, and wasting time fixing things manually that should not need constant repair.
I also have to point out that the mobile display on this theme is very poor. In today’s world, when most people read content on their phones, that is a huge problem.
Because of all this, my advice is clear:
If you only want a generic-looking website, the theme may work acceptably.
But if you want a serious custom website, a stable blog, a good mobile experience, and a professional system — avoid this theme and choose another one that includes a child theme and provides a better foundation for customization.
We have already purchased a new theme that includes a child theme, and so far in testing we no longer have problems with pages breaking or code appearing instead of content. If it proves stable, we will move the entire blog to it.
Unfortunately, problems like this damage readers’ trust. People come to the blog, see a broken page or code instead of content — and leave. Meanwhile, instead of solving the issue quickly, support keeps dragging out the communication.
I am writing this as a real experience, not as an attack.
For a serious project, theme stability is not a luxury. It is the foundation.
Check it: https://duhovnariznica.com/
Hi,
I should point a few things, which may or may not be obvious. Please consider my replies in a constructive manner. I’m only trying to explain so that other interested customers who read your message are not mislead.
First, what is happening on your website concerning our theme is not normal. I check tens or maybe more than one hundred websites per day for quite a few years, and I have only seen such issues once or twice. As I specified in the email, the possible causes for the issues must be reduced so we can try and narrow them down. And then there’s also the fact that on your staging website the issues are not happening, it’s only happening on your main website. I can’t provide a solution to such an issue directly unfortunately, I hope you understand that investigations have to be made.
The theme does come with it’s own child theme, although almost no one uses a child theme anymore. If you check in the full theme package there is a child theme there, and we have a guide for it here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ I would have mentioned it, but I don’t think it affects the issues happening on your website.
Not sure what you mean by having poor mobile support, when we actually provide a way to create mobile versions for pages and templates, using our composer, besides providing a mobile theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY There are 3 choices, responsive, mobile composer versions, mobile theme.
The theme is everything but generic. I believe that it only requires checking our cloud library to see what can be done with it https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All And that’s only a fraction of the design capabilities and the features that the theme provides.
Finally, I see you posted a link to your website and you also mentioned that having redirects is completely normal practice for blogs and portals. Have you tried to access your website without an ad blocker? Please check what I’m seeing when I click on your website link -> https://prnt.sc/f5XOJ4j3vuLv Or if I manage to get to a post or another page, the site is blocked by Bitdefender because it redirects to phishing websites -> https://prnt.sc/084q95ibI5e5
To make it clear, no one can access the website without an ad blocker, because of redirects to external websites. It happens every single time, and the redirects go to scam websites. This is normally the behavior of malware if I may say so, not normal practice and regular ads. If no one can see the website, that isn’t normal. It’s just a platform for redirects. I have never seen a website where the owner intentionally uses such ads so that no one can access their website.
Ultimately, everyone can form their own opinion by trying our theme. Sometimes there can be issues, like with any theme. But we try our best to help. I’m not very sure what your plan with the website is exactly, it’s a very unique case. But I wish you all the best with it.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi Simion,
Thank you for your reply.
However, the main issue we are reporting is still not being addressed directly.
The core problem is this:
The tagDiv Cloud Library plugin gets deactivated, and when that happens, the homepage and other pages break. Instead of the proper layout, code becomes visible on the website and our custom work disappears. Then I have to manually activate the plugin again, and only after that the homepage returns to normal.
This has happened multiple times during the day and night. For a live blog, this is a serious problem because visitors come to the website, see broken pages or code instead of content, and leave. This directly damages trust in our project.
Regarding the redirects and ads: that is a separate issue from the one we are asking support to investigate. We use advertising services, including popunder ads, and we understand that some ad behavior can be aggressive or unpleasant for some users. We are willing to review and adjust advertising providers if needed.
But that does not explain why tagDiv Cloud Library gets deactivated and why the theme output breaks into visible code.
Also, this is very important:
The issue happened even when ads were disabled.
The issue also did not happen on the staging version, even though staging also had ads.
So the explanation cannot simply be: “your ads are causing everything.” If ads are a concern, we can discuss that separately. But the technical issue we need help with is the plugin/theme behavior: why is the required tagDiv plugin deactivating, and why does the layout collapse when that happens?
This is what we need support to focus on.
About the child theme: thank you for pointing out that a child theme exists in the full package and for sharing the guide. That is useful information. However, it still does not solve the current issue where the required plugin gets deactivated and the homepage breaks.
About mobile support: maybe the theme offers options for mobile layouts, but our actual experience with the mobile display has been poor. That is feedback based on our real use case and our custom setup.
I want to be clear: we are not saying the theme cannot be powerful or that no one should ever use it. We are saying that in our specific case, once we started deeper custom work, the website became unstable, the homepage broke multiple times, and support has still not provided a clear technical explanation or solution after many days.
What we need is not a discussion about whether our website is unique, whether our ads are ideal, or whether the theme has many design possibilities.
We need help with the actual issue:
Why does tagDiv Cloud Library deactivate?
Why does the homepage display code when that happens?
What logs, conflicts, server settings, WordPress recovery events, plugin conflicts, theme dependencies, or security mechanisms should be checked to find the real cause?
If this requires investigation, that is understandable. But then the investigation should be focused on the technical failure we reported, not on unrelated lectures about what kind of content, ads, or strategy we should use on our blog.
We are building a serious project. Stability is not optional for us.
Regards.
I’m sorry but I what you are doing here is not helping anyone. I will not continue this thread and this is my last reply here. Since my last reply by email you haven’t replied back. I provided a few instructions for what to do, have you tried those? Or can I try them? Can you provide FTP access to the main website as well? Instead of having a collaboration between us wo we can try and solve this, you seem to prefer complaining on the themeforest dashboard. What’s the reason for this exactly? I’m very sorry that there are issues but this is not how problems are solved.
Or, since there is a problem specific to your website and the theme is not performing as intended, you could request a refund. You already mentioned that you purchased a new theme and it works fine on your website. I see you are already using the new theme. If you want to request a refund it can be done from here https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new
Regards, Simion C.
Hi Simion,
Thank you for your reply.
At this point, we no longer want to continue troubleshooting this issue.
We have already purchased and installed another theme because our live website could not continue breaking repeatedly. The homepage and custom pages were showing code, the tagDiv Cloud Library plugin was getting deactivated, and we had to manually reactivate it multiple times. This caused serious instability on a live project and damaged trust with our readers.
We have used several themes from your company in the past, and they were acceptable while used in a generic/default way. However, once we started doing serious custom work and relying on the theme for a professional live website, the system became unstable and support did not provide a practical solution in time.
Because of this, we no longer have confidence in using your themes for our project.
Therefore, we would like to request a refund not only for this one theme, but for all tagDiv themes/licenses we purchased and can no longer use with confidence.
The reason is simple:
the live website repeatedly broke; the tagDiv Cloud Library plugin was deactivated; custom pages showed code instead of the intended layout; the issue was not solved after many days of communication; support focused on other topics instead of the core technical failure; we were forced to buy and switch to another theme to protect the project.
Please confirm that you will approve the refund requests for all purchased tagDiv themes/licenses connected to our account.
If this needs to be done through ThemeForest, we will submit the requests there, but we ask you to approve them because the products are no longer usable for us in a serious production environment.
Regards.
Hi, how can I activate comments? They’re not showing below the articles in the Free News template.
Hi,
If you activated the comments in wordpress -> https://prnt.sc/dyKzzI28hJu7 then all you have to do is to add them in the post template.
Edit the post template with the composer -> https://prnt.sc/7XII9NvvgNMn and place the comments in the location you want -> https://prnt.sc/C5JmT41zJq0E Then they will be displayed in the post pages. Please try it.
Regards, Simion C.
Hello, thanks a lot; problem solved!
Hi,
I’m experiencing an issue with the Free News template homepage featured section.
Whenever I publish a new post, it doesn’t appear in the main featured/latest posts area. Instead, older or seemingly random posts continue to display, even though the block configuration is already set to “Latest Posts.”
I’ve double-checked the settings, but the newest posts are still not being featured automatically.
Please, how can this be resolved?
Screenshot for reference: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/60521696?key=86c01e35ea29cde2b06df3d824a6a513Thank you.
Hi,
It looks like the main block there has an offset of 1 -> https://prnt.sc/bn1i7INzpfIo Not sure why it has it, normally it should display the latest post but because of that offset it skips one post. Please remove that offset if you find it there. Let me know if that’s the case.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi, thanks a lot. Resolved. Cheers!
Hi. Please, where can I list our authors? Is there any author template with the Free News template? Thanks for your support.
Regards
Hi,
All the authors will have an author page, and our theme provides templates for them https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Author You can set an author template to be used for all the authors, or you can set templates for each of them individually https://prnt.sc/w-D24JGjU3k9 If you also want to display all the authors like in a list, you could use the authors element from the composer https://prnt.sc/H56e4SaCXR-0
Regards, Simion C.
Thank you very much, solved.
Best regards
I’m sorry but i can’t find how to add a featured image on a “post”. I go to the side bar, however over “Posts” click “Add Post” and I can add a title and body copy, but where do I add the featured image? i can’t seem to find it anywehre. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
The option should be here -> https://prnt.sc/odewU5dRtvuh But in case its missing for you and you can’t find the reason, we could take a look as well. You can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi, how can I add the login icon to the mobile menu layout? Where can I edit the mobile menu layout, because I cannot find the login icon? Please help.

Hi, how can I remove the Buy Ads Buy banner from the widget sidebar? Screenshot; https://tinyurl.com/2bm4t8re
Regards
Hi,
That’s a basic demo ad. Please edit the homepage with the composer -> https://prnt.sc/EldNah9zSdHA and delete it -> https://prnt.sc/9R6rV7T__BsQ Or you can replace it if you want, here is a guide for the theme ad boxes https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads-adsense-overview/ In case perhaps you don’t see the ad box in the composer, please check if you use an ad blocker for the browser, then either disable it or exclude your website.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi, on Firefox, I can see the ad box, but on Chrome, which I use often, I cannot see the ad box in the composer.
I use Chrome as well and I can see the ad correctly. Please check the browser extensions active on your Chrome browser, there may be an adblocker extension active. That’s the only plausible explanation.
Regards, Simion C.
Thanks a lot, I will use Firefox to remove it. Resolved.

Hi, how can I make users create an account and log in to my Newspaper site?
Regards
Hi,
If you allow user registration on your website, then any login element from the theme will also have a sign up/register option. Like the header login element https://forum.tagdiv.com/login-how-to-enable-user-registration/ Or the login elements from our opt-in builder plugin https://prnt.sc/U3QiuWcIwsPj Please check it out.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi, thanks alot.
How can I add CAPTCHA to prevent bots from registering?
That is possible, and you should do it. The theme provides an option for recaptcha v3. After you create the v3 keys like so https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create you can enter them in the theme panel -> https://prnt.sc/a6LP-MkD0WFE Please try it.
Regards, Simion C.
I completed my website setup in localhost, but when I upload and moved the production domain, many images are not loaded.
For example, when I set the background image in my localhost environment, the post actually stores “localhost/project-folder/wp-content/uploads/..../background.jpg”, instead of the relative url. So now when I move to production, these images are broken.
Is there a quick way to fix it? I will always make changes in localhost for review before moving to production, so manually updating them one by one isn’t a real solution for me.
Thanks!
Hi,
One solution is to set the images again on the new website, if there actually aren’t that many of them. Another solution is to move the website in a different way, like with the duplicator plugin https://duplicator.com/knowledge-base/classic-install/ which will automatically change all the URLs to the new website and its very easy to use. Another solution would be to use a search and replace plugin on the new website, look for the old website URL and and replace it with the new one https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/ I would recommend if possible to migrate the website using duplicator, it handles everything automatically including the URLs, so there will be no issues like that after moving it.
Regards, Simion C.
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the reply and advice. However, the issue is that the background image URL is stored in the post content, where settings are base64 encoded, so neither the Duplicator nor Better Search Replace can find and change that value. The only solution is to manually update the images in the page composer one by one, for every release. This is not sustainable.
So my suggestion is: the theme should always store the relative URL for media, and only store the absolute URL for external resources.
Currently this issue affects the background image setting, not sure about others.
Thank you very much.
You may see this image: https://prnt.sc/NXuxkNK0EOLv
I understand. That will indeed require manually changing the background images on the new website. I’ll forward this to our developer team, we’ll see if this can be changed. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards, Simion C.
Thank you Simon. Really look forward to the fix of this issue.
Hi, please, how can I edit the modal pop-up content in the FreeNews template?
I opened the TagDiv Composer but couldn’t locate where the modal content can be edited.
Secondly, how can I manage the locked content feature and customize/edit the subscription page properly?
Is there any documentation or guide available that explains how to configure and edit these features correctly?
Thank you.
Hi,
The popups are set to open pages actually. Those are regular pages which can be edited with the composer https://prnt.sc/El6Ejp3EG-AN More about popups here https://forum.tagdiv.com/modal-popup/
The Subscribe page is the Plans page, meaning the page where the payment plans are displayed. The payment plans can be customized in the opt-in plugin settings in the backend, more about it here https://forum.tagdiv.com/subscriptions/ Also a guide about the content lockers here https://forum.tagdiv.com/lockers/
We can help more if you have other questions. I suggest using the support forum https://forum.tagdiv.com/ I see you have an account there. Or you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com Either way will be fine.
Regards, Simion C.
Thanks greatly, all questions are resolved, I’m so grateful.
How can I edit the weather placement in Free News because it’s not showing in the tagdiv builder?
Regards
Hi,
The weather element is part of the header, so you will need to use tagDiv Composer to update it.
Please edit the homepage, select the Weather element, and then configure your Weather API key and location settings here: https://i.imgur.com/On8OmUd.png – https://forum.tagdiv.com/weather-widget/
Thanks, Calin
Hi Calin, the link you shared is not showing. I observed that when I opened the tagDiv composer, the weather element is not showing. I can only hover on the logo, menu links, etc.
Hi,
Once you open the homepage in the composer it should be possible to click on the weather widget https://prnt.sc/2AXfg41SIfNm I tried it now using the Free news demo and it’s working correctly. We can take a closer look at it if you want, directly on your website. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login. This way we can check the problem faster.
Regards, Simion C.
Thanks a lot, resolved. Cheers!
HI, please, how can I change the FreeNews background color from blue? Screenshot; https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/60337350?key=d560e9ea07c5e5ea1ef9ded2448f0bb3

I cannot find how to change the site background color in Free News. Screenshot; https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/60337350?key=d560e9ea07c5e5ea1ef9ded2448f0bb3
Hi,
You will need to edit the homepage and Cloud Templates using tagDiv Composer. Open the page with tagDiv Composer and select any element from the page: https://i.imgur.com/BJBC6Pq.png Then select the zone holding that element (Content / Header / Footer): https://i.imgur.com/pcdx2Ff.png then in the CSS tab, you will find the Background Color option: https://i.imgur.com/3KNOpz6.png simply update it with the color you prefer.
For further assistance, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com or through our official forum at https://forum.tagdiv.com/
Thank you! Calin
Thanks a lot, solved!
