Hello!
Is there anyway I can implement a “revolution slider” instead of the slider that is included? Also would that have the parallax effect if i did put it in there?

1. If you wanted to implement a revolution slider you would have to edit the theme files to eliminate the built in slider and add yours.
2. No, the script that creates the parallax effect wouldn’t transfer over to a revolution slider.
Alright, is that a particularly hard thing to do?

It would require you to essentially delete my sliders code from the home template and insert the function that displays the revolution slider.

There are many articles out there for setting up revolution slider from scratch. A quick Google search turned up: http://www.ait-themes.com/doc/how-to-use-revolution-slider/
You would just need to open up the home template file you’re using and delete the
<div id="featured" />and everything inside it. This will remove the built in slider. Then all that’s left to do is drop a revolution slider function call in its place:)

Have you read the section “Home & Blog Setup” in the user guide? It covers how to assign the home page template and correct display it on the front page of your website
If you are looking to have your site setup just like the demo, simply import the included .xml file by going to Tools > Import and browsing for the dummy-content.xml file. If you need any help, just PM me and I’ll assist you further.

Thx! I uploaded the dummy file but the home page is still configured the same – i love the way the demo home page is made – can you tell me how to do an exact replication of that?
After uploading the dummy content, you will need to tell WordPress to display the home page as the front page of your site. You can do this by going to Reading > Settings and and toggling the “Front page displays” to “A static page” and selecting the home page.
Also, in order to get the menu to show up you will still need to assign it in Appearance > Menus on the top left box titled “Theme Locations”

1. I believe the WordPress function get_post_meta will not parse html out to the screen, but I could be wrong. I will try to look into this further for you.

Currently, I have not tested a multilingual plugin with the functionality you’re looking for.

first of all: awesome theme! I love the super easy settings and customisation.
when I upload my own logo (80px height), the home slider image gets cut off at the top and there’s a black gap at the bottom. how can I fix this?

The header height shouldn’t have too much of an effect on the slider. But if you’re seeing a black bar at the bottom that means your image is not tall enough. Try changing the height of the slider in the options panel or uploading a taller image.
thanks a lot for your quick response. playing around with that solved my problem with the black bar. but I still don’t see the whole height of my uploaded image. isn’t there a way to get this more excact?

When I upload an image with 700px height and type in 700 in the options panel then the black bar shows up again. It seems I have to upload a much larger image and turn down the size in the options panel to 650px, but that way I have too little control over what part of the image is actually shown on the site because it gets cropped on top and bottom…
Yes, it is in the nature of the parallax slider to not exactly match the height of image you upload. The image needs to be a little taller than the height of the slider. This is because of the fixed image background position (relative to the browser window), and the slider being pushed up a little under the nav bar so when you scroll down slowly and the header resizes, you don’t see white space.

So, I don’t know what I did, but I was customizing a lot of files and now the right column (only the right column) in my collection of portfolio items is both off in alignment and not sticking to the right thumbnail dimensions. Any idea what I did wrong?

Love the theme so far, and I have one question that I think others have asked but wanted to be clear before I try some work arounds.
I have several areas of work: Websites, Graphic Design, Video, etc and I want each to have their own page that looks like the “Portfolio Sortable” page from the demo. Is that possible?

That functionality is currently not available as part of the theme. You would indeed need to do some custom development.
Okay thanks, do you have any plans on making it a part or should I abandon hope for that? Then, I haven’t looked at the CSS yet, but how much custom work would need to be done do you think to make it happen?
To be honest there would need to be a good deal of development, not so much in CSS, but PHP. This is a feature that I plan on making in my next theme, as adding it in this one would cause far too many problems for current theme users.

Beautiful theme, I just purchased this and I uploaded the dummy content file that came along but for some reason, nothing seems to go through, it shows that they are uploaded but none of the content appears on my site.

I assume it took you around one month or more time to make it, and that’s why I asked. It takes a lot of time to design something that a lot of people are going to use, therefore I hope your time is and will be paid off.

One thing I would like to be able to do is to be able to add the ‘Latest Work’ (3 items) section that is on the home page on to other pages. Is this possible or could you make it so that we can?

If I made it into a shortcode, then the recent work home layout would become obsolete. Therefore, I would have to remove that and in doing so cause all the current theme users problems with updating. However, I will look into the matter more and see if there’s any way of solving the problem
Yeah I understand but it would be really useful to be able to show some recent work on a ‘Services’ or ‘About Us’ page if we can’t justify having a whole Portfolio page. At the moment we are slightly restricted how we can show work.
One other thing…the info window that shows when you click on a map marker on the contact page seems to be a bit crooked. the bottom left line isn’t straight?

Unfortunately, adding new ones would require editing many files.
Urgent help! how do I install the dummy data? it doesn’t explain how in the documentation and when I goto Tools > Import > I tried using wordpress format but it didn’t work and the page goes blank in the middle and never imports the data! please help what is wrong!

1. Is ist possible on the single portfolio page to ad some content (working with shortcodes) underneath the portfolio image/slider? Would be great to have this in a future update.
2. How can I ad more than 6 slides in the portfolio section?
3. Is ist possible to adjust the homepage-slider to the content width? Not full-size.

1.This feature has been requested by others, and I really would like to add it in but the main roadblock I have with it is the transition for existing theme users. The right way to do it would require changing fields around and that would require users who already have data up to reenter it. I am still exploring ways to work around this and make everyone happy
2. Currently that is the hard cap on images and would require custom development to alter.
3. Because of the parallax nature of the slider, I had to sacrifice background-size: cover in order to accommodate cross browser compatibility.
