It looks like you’re getting a simple permissions error. Your server might automatically have set stricter permission rules than most. To fix this, chmod those files to allow the server to write to them. If you don’t know how to do that, your hosting company should be able to take care of it for you very quickly

Nearly there with my site, but just wanted to check something and I know this is something you’ve addressed before so apologies for returning to it.
With the home slider no matter what size I choose, I’m losing a large portion of the top of the image, I currently have a 100 px difference between the smaller size of the slider and larger of my images, but anything smaller than that is leaving the gap at the bottom. There’s no way of aligning the vertical of the images to bottom or centre of the slider is there?

Hey Jonny,
The parallax positioning was always a little off due the nature of the fixed position being relative to the window and nothing else. However, I have been working on rewriting the script to take into consideration the header height and logo height. In the next update your images will get pushed down in relation to those and be much more consistent

Hello! I have a problem with the pictures viewing on mobile – the images with captions do not get resized – instead it only shows a portion of the images.
I’ve tried this out on both the iPhone and iPad mini – the images without captions do get resized, just not those with captions. Anyway to work around this? Thanks! : )

i also have a few things i beleve would make the teme even better:
- Home Slider on any page; also an option to turn the < > arrows off
- is there a way to put some content below portfolio item images, not just in the sidebar? i have a lot of text and it looks strange; also a way do add video as a part of the slideshow (so it’s mixed – images and video)
- there’s still prolems with latin slavic characters š?ž?? do not display well

1. This is a possible future feature
2. This feature has actually been very sought after and I’m already working on the best way to integrate it in so that existing theme users don’t have a bad transition.
3. Have you have turned on “Use Custom Fonts” and checked “Include Latin Chars” after selecting your desired fonts? The default fonts loaded with the theme don’t include Ext. Latin chars for speed and simplicity.

also, i now have a problem with sorting on the portfolio page – sort portfolio just wont show… i don’t know what is the problem…

i found out what the problem with portfolio sorting was – since you added an option for header image for portfolio – the sort button now only shows there, and it doesn’t show if the header image is off
Yes, as of the last update when the portfolio was given the ability to use the header settings, you must at least use a title for the page to get the header to show up
appreciate the function to add a header image – it looks way better, so for me it’s cool
I have another suggestion : portfolio thumbnails take the whole screen on ipad – when in portrait mode – which makes it really hart too browse thru projects. I would appreciate smaller icons here – you could fit two in a row – like on the recent work carusell on the home page

There are some icons used in the theme which are not retina optimized. A later release might change this though..

You could essentially upload images 2x the size and they will still get resized to fit regular screens but appear crisp on retina devices.

Hi, great update! One small detail: on mobile the main menu is displayed as a drop down which is great. The submenus are then dropped down from a second level – next to the main items there is a small downward arrow which changes color on selection. This small arrow seems to be the standard green and doesnt seem to be effected by the custom accent color choice. Just wanted to make you aware! It can probably be fixed easily with CSS.

I can see that your colors.css is missing all the new style definitions of v1.2 Are you sure you copied the new colors.php into your child theme?
Hi again, I’ve actually only updated the parent theme and left the child theme untouched. I thought that the idea with a child theme was to preserve any customizations? Do I need to update the child theme files as well?
You are still persevering the changes, but the script that dynamically generates the colors/fonts/custom css needs to be updated in both places.
i.e. you need to add the new colors.php but not colors.css in your child theme.
Aha perfect! So in the future whenever the theme is updated I can let the css files in the child theme remain but update the php-files? Thanks for the help!
Yes, just update the .php files in the CSS folder in your child theme when there is an update. Also if you are done replacing those files now with the new ones, remember to hit save in your options panel to generate the new colors.css
A quick similar questions: Is it possible to retain the font-files in a child theme to avoid them being overwriten with an update? I can’t seem to get it to work with the fonts folder.

Can you make the map section height bigger, so when you go to a page the map takes up the full screen? Can you add more than ten markers to the map? I think that would be a great feature Finally, can you have just 3 widgets in the footer instead of 4?

3. If you just want three widgets, a quickfix would be to put a text widget in the column you don’t want and just have no content inside it.

The logo is actually automatically wrapped in a link that leads to your home page. Unless you have modified the files, I don’t see how yours wouldn’t already be like that.

So try as I might, I can’t seem to figure out how to align the text to the right on the home slider. I am not trying to just do text-align right but take all the text and text background and move it over to the right side of the image.
I am guessing it has to do with the #featured .orbit-slide article .container .span_12 { on line 1119 of style.css but I can figure out what.

The theme includes the necessary .po and .mo files. You just have to enter your translations in using something like Poedit and then define your language inside of wp-config.php
Have you done this to no avail?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but since the update I’ve been having issues with shortcodes. Namely, when I select the desired shortcode from the drop down menu, it no longer provides shortcode options as it did previously.
It also does nothing if you just press Insert Shortcode, any advice? Is there anywhere I can view a list of shortcodes?

Well, I deleted the old theme, and reuploaded the new one. If that’s not correct that please enlighten me. I’ll clear cache now.

Yes. The demo uses the team members in conjunction with the carousel just as an example. They are in fact two separate shortcodes and you could easily do what you’re looking for.
