I have some question, what plugin use to translate this template? if I use a qtranslate plugin is ok but I can’t change anything in slider…
standard for qtranslate plugin is define language:
<!-:en->some text<!-:->
but this is not work is slider, just works nice in menu only
Hey kylo, thanks for purchasing the theme!
I’m not sure what you mean when you say the slider won’t translate correctly. The slider outputs exactly what you input for the captions, so you should just be able to write each caption in any language you want. For translating I would recommend to try this plugin, it’s really nice to work with

I goingo to translate a front page, so the main slider on homepage is hard to translate with plugins.. but maybe I use string replace in php to replace my text into another language version
Hey,
I purchased the theme a week ago and wanted to add a gallery type portfolio like this one: http://themeforest.net/item/salient-responsive-portfolio-blog-theme/full_screen_preview/4363266
How do I achieve that? I created a gallery portfolio with add gallery but this is the result: http://jumeauxbe.webhosting.be/?portfolio=dames-2 Also, when you click on the grid button I get a 404 page. This is the link: http://jumeauxbe.webhosting.be/?page_id=157
Thanks for helping me out.
Hey thelivingacc, thanks for purchasing the theme!
The link you have supplied to my theme just leads to the homepage since it’s in an iframe. If you want to show me the specifc page you’re talking about, exit the iframe first by clicking “Remove Frame” in the top left corner.
I would greatly appreciate it if you reposted this question in the support forum so that it can be properly indexed for other buyers to see and search through
Thanks!
Thanks for the response, posted in de support forum ^^
Is it possible to block the movement of the navigation on the top? And to enlarge the typo in the navigation?
Thank you for your answer.
Hey falkster!
1.Yes, You can toggle the header resize on scroll effect via the options panel.
2. Yes, the typography sizes are all also customizable
CONGRATS! This theme is very attractive and seem efficient. Love the stylish scrollbar : a very important detail
One question : I wanted to know in case of Home with Slider Only, how far can we set up the height to get a “fullscreen” layout style?
Thanks a lot westkast!
The home slider height is defined by you and can get as tall as you need it
Cheers!
Ha ha haaa! Very interesting! Thanks so much Nectar for this important quote
BOOKMARKED!
hi ThemeNectar! lovely theme.
before i purchase, i’d like to know a few things about the homepage slider:
1. right now only the call to action button links out to another page. is there some code I can add to the theme to make the entire image link out to another page?
2. am i able to adjust the height of the homepage image slider? my client will need more room than the theme’s default height.
thank you!
Hey Jamie!
1. This would require some custom CSS, but I could help you out if you just opened a ticket on the support forum
2. Yes, the height is defined by you!
Hello, i have same problem of ascardi! By the way, there is a list of all shortcodes used? Thanks!
Hey fermenti!
Have you noticed this problem after updating to a later version or has it been this way since your first install?
Hello! I bought the theme today, it was a fresh installation! Thanks
Would you also please open a private ticket on the support forum with your credentials so that I can confirm the cause is the same as ascardi?
Thanks !
The issue has been fixed
Enjoy the theme!
Hi there, and thank you for this amazing theme!
I’m setting up some pages but i seem to have some troubles with the shortcode generator. When i am creating a page and i click on the little Nectar logo i can only see a white pop-up window..
Any help is appreciated. I can send you the admin login if you need.
Thank you in advance,
Augusto
Hey ascardi,
Please submit a private ticket on the support forum ASAP with your credentials and I will take a look!

thank you very much for your help!
Hi ThemeNectar
How do we install an update?
I tried installing as a theme on its own in Wordpress and got the following error:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed.
Thanks
Hey mmcg_33!
Make sure you are uploading the actual theme .zip and not the download .zip you get from ThemeForest. You have to open your download .zip up and take the actual theme out
i.e. upload this: salient.zip
not this: themeforest-4363266-salient-responsive-portfolio-blog-theme.zip
Great update!
Those portfolio fixes where you can add multiple images one after the other while have the info fixed when you scroll is perfect.
Read my mind and saved me an additional dev fee.
Cheers
Glad you like it blankstudio!

Hey guys!
Sorry for not responding to all of your comments tonight, but I am happy to announce to completion of Salient v1.3! The live preview has been updated and all of the fixes and additions are now visible. The update currently is in the ThemeForest review queue and once it’s approved, you will all be notified via email
Please see the changelog for a specific list of what’s been fixed/added.
Cheers!
Hi.
Is there a way to make the parallax slider be responsive to fit the entire height of the screen mobile and desktop? Right now it’s just fixed to the default or the height that we specified.
Thanks
Hey brandxvn, thanks a lot for buying the theme!
The mobile + iPad version stretch the image to fit, but the desktop can not due to the parallax effect. In order to ensure cross browser compatibility the background needs to be set to fixed. However, if you grab a copy of v1.3 you will notice much more consistent positioning of your images in the slider on desktop

Hello
Impressive theme and feedback from buyers. I have a question. I need a theme that I can run multiple blogs on with a different page for each blog.
Is this easy on Salient?
Thanks
Thanks jaroljmek
If you need to run multiple blogs, you could accomplish that by making each blog it’s own category and simply place links to each of those categories in the navigation.
Hi, Can I have more than one portfolio page – e.g. main sortable portfolio, archive sortable portfolio, etc.
Thanks
b1b,
If you need multiple portfolio pages it would require some extra coding on your end. There has already been a post on the support forum giving directions though.
In the future this functionality might get built into the theme
Cheers!
Great, will check this out.
Another request other people were asking for too – would you consider designing a second portfolio page layout where the project description can be featured underneath the picture container? Thanks
Are you talking about on the more details page or under each thumbnail on the sortable page?
Can you disable the slider on the front page? Also is there a way to make the blog centered with no sidebars?
Great theme BTW!
Cheers, Brad
Hey robustbrad, thanks for purchasing the theme!
Can you please post this on the support forum so that the code snippets I give you will be visible by everyone in a searchable manner?
Thanks!
Not a problem.
nice theme! is it possible to have only the slider on the homepage and full height? So I mean fullscreen…
Hey benzrecordings!
There is a home template included for having only the slider display and the slider height is defined by you
Ah Ok, I was unsure if it possible to use 100% height. That’s cool. Is the slider a layer slider where I can animate elements separately? And another question: how easy is it to have the navigation bar on top higher / a greater height?
1. No it’s not a layer slider, it’s a custom modified version of orbit slider. Currently there are no layering options.
2. The header height / logo height & header padding are all user defined
Cheers!
Hi ThemeNectar,
I wanted to update the theme to the latest version but want to install it I get this message:
“Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed.”
Do you know what can happen?
Thanks!

Hi,
I’ve just updated the theme to the latest version and noticed that when you touch the portfolio item (on an iPhone 4S), the overlay animation is a little buggy. Could you provide a fix for this please?
It would also be helpful if u can list any changes you’ve made to the theme somewhere for users that don’t want to do a full update.
=)
hey pr0jectile,
1. I’ll see what I can do
2. I have the list of modified files up already in the changelog. Going forward with all future updates I will also be supplying detailed line number changes. Unfortunately I cant get much more specific than I already have for past updates because there was no real VC setup.
Sweet thanks!
Do you have the PSD’s for this theme available?
-Iron
Hey Iron, thanks for purchasing the theme!
Unfortunately, no PSD’s are available. However, most of the styles are created with CSS3 and all of the images used are easy to edit .png’s
Hi,
Im doing minor edits to my sites blog roll page. Which file is it that I edit? It doesn’t appear to be in the list of files in the Appearance > Editor list (I’ve only found the single post page so far).
Thanks JA
Hey again FromInfinity
All of the blog related pages (category, archive, etc) use the file index.php
Hmmm, still not finding what im looking for there. While I’m waiting on your look-see into Disqus integration, I’m removing the conflict its causing with the incorrect display of the ” 0 comments and 0 reactions” in the blog by deleting the code from my version of the template. I can’t find where the code is located on this page: http://frominfinity.com/blog/ ... and if you look at this post http://frominfinity.com/2013/04/04/going-into-new-realms/ you can see I’ve removed the comments indicator below the title.
If you are looking to edit the post meta section you will have to open the files located in includes/post-templates. I would suggest doing it in an text/code editor and not directly through the admin editor
I think im looking for this code:
<?php echo __(‘Posted by’, NECTAR_THEME_NAME); ?> <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?> | <?php the_category(’, ‘); ?> | <?php comments_number( _(‘No Comments’, NECTAR_THEME_NAME), _(‘One Comment ’, NECTAR_THEME_NAME), __(’% Comments’, NECTAR_THEME_NAME) ); ?> <!and I cant find it in the post-template.php or the other post files you pointed me towards. Help, im stumped
!
(I grabbed it from single.php) ... My knowledge of how php references code is pretty limited, so I don’t know where to find the multi-post blog entries template.
Here’s a screen cap of what Im seeking to edit : http://frominfinity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Screen-shot-2013-04-21-at-11.31.40-AM-save.jpg
And while we’re at it, I’m looking for the nectar love heart code, presumably also in this page. This code >>
<?php if( function_exists(‘nectar_love’) ) nectar_love(); ?>(also taken from single.php).
FromInfinity, All of the comment and love code you’re looking for is indeed located in each of the post-template files in inlcudes/post-templates/entry-x.php where x is variable.
Please just file a ticket on our support forum if you can’t find them and I’ll assist you further
oooooooooohhhhh I see! I was looking in the wp-includes/blah blah folder. Riiight, INSIDE the theme template files! Of course (I was scratching my head how that was working from a coding persective). Okay, totally solved!
Big Thanks! JA
Awesome
FYI anyone else sees this thread >> found in wp-content/content/themes/salient/includes/
(oops, strike the second “content/”, I double wrote that)
