Great plugin, but the search is too strict? If you have an article with title “How to install Wordpress”, and search for “How do I install Wordpress”, you will not get any hits or suggestions…
Is there a way to change the strict search? For a knowledge database it is VERY IMPORTANT to have the search working.
EG. If I search for “keyword1 keyword2 keyword3”, I would like my customers to get results even though my article only include keyword1 and keyword3.
Hope you see the problem with KnowHow and the strict search not getting the results it should.

The search in this theme is powered by the default WordPress search, which out of the box doesn’t do an amazing job. But, there are a few plugins that can greatly enhance the WordPress search such as: http://wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/ which customers have been using successfully.

Is the knowledge base created just from posts (and their associated categories) or can you also include PDFs from the Media Library or Pages?
Some screenshots of the admin dashboard or more information on how to create the knowledge base would be greatly appreciated.

The knowledge base is created using posts. If you want to include PDFs you could just create a post and insert it there. I’ll look about adding more info to the item page

Have been using your theme and love it.
I have been using 1.0.5 I just tried to update to your latest but is causing major issues (Cant access the admin area) luckily I did it in a staging area (using wpengine).
All I REALLY want to do is fix an accordian issue in IE (In ie they are blue – all other browsers work great). I asked you about this before and you said that you have included it in a new update.
Can you please tell me EXACTLY what code (and where) to change so I can just fix this issue manually?

I am facing some problem on the websites breadcrumbs structure
My permalinks are website/postname
Main Catgeory – Hinduism and Sub category is Mahabharat
I have posted an article and chosen both Hinduism and Mahabharata as categories. When I visit the article page the breadcrumbs are wrong: Home / Hinduism • Hinduism • Mahabharata / Who composed Mahabharata?
It Should be
Home / Hinduism • Mahabharata / Who composed Mahabharata?
When I select just Mahabharat, I get
Home / Who composed Mahabharata?
While it Should be
Home / Mahabharata / Who composed Mahabharata?
When I select just Hinduism, I get

Im interested in your theme, and I purchased “support-center” wich is a wonderful and perfect theme!
Before I purchase there are a couple of questions I need answers for:
1. Is it possible to let users register and post new articles in kb? 2. Can authors have a profile page where they can have a avatar and a list of articles they posted or comments?

1. There’s no front-end posting of articles (although there are a few plugins on wordpress.org that could help you here).
2. This isn’t a default feature of the theme unfortunately.
They’re two great ideas though, and something I might look into in the future

Updated to get rid of one bug related to using the KnowledgeBase (ie: the Wordpress internal FAQ system)
Probably not being used by too many folks given the theme n’all…
Anyway, with the latest Version 1.1.1 you get this error:Fatal error: Cannot break/continue 1 level in /home/[foo]
/public_html/wp-content/themes/knowhow/framework/template-navigation.php on line 145
To fix it you need to comment out the continue; on this line 145 as there’s no loop to continue out of…

Hi Chris First: Perfect theme for my knowledge base and very well done! Like the option to modify stuff through the backend. Like so often I adjusted a few things to my need of which two may be interesting for others too. Since I guess I can not post code here, i made an entry on my base: http://wiki.derverstaerker.ch/knowhow-theme-adjustments/
1. I added keyboard support, when searching for content. I don’t like to grab for the mouse when I’m typing. So now I can just hit the down/up-cursors to select one of the found entries and hit enter. (I’m not a JS crack [yet], so this is probably not perfectly coded) 2. There seems to be a left over on the start-page layout which causes some additional margin on the right column starting from the second row. Fixed this by removing the class ‘half-gutter’ on line 45 in index.php. Couldn’t determine any further effects.

Hi Chris I have an issue with the “toggle” It works totally perfect in all browsers (Safari/Chrome/ipad/Firefox) but when used in IE (using 9) the actual toggles are a dark blue instead of the grey making them unreadable. Take a look www.chemistapp.com
Unfortunately although I dont use IE many of our customer do because it is default on their computers.
How do I fix this?

but I have a problem now. live search isn’t working. Why ? don’know. when I upload the theme files, live search was working perfectly but now not working. Maybe ? setup some plugins like Better WP Security. But I tried to deactive plugins, but nothing change.
