Your theme is the best I’ve seen !!! I will buy it this week!

I will build a web like http://www.insurancelibrary.com/ (they are already using your great theme)

Just a question: that web is using your theme with some kind of rating answers, badges and user points system. Do you know what plugin is that?

Thanks!!!

;)

Hey there,

Unfortunately, I don’t know which plugins that particular site is using. The owner is very friendly so maybe send them an email and ask.

Thanks

Hi Thanks for the previous answer. You mentioned in that some clients use this theme with the wiki plugin. Can you provide support on integrate this theme with the plugin~?

Hey there,

Unfortunately it’s not possible to support third party plugins. Any well coded plugin should work fine with this theme.

Thanks

I purchased this theme, and have been customizing it. Good theme btw, I looked at gazillions of alternatives before I picked yours.

Anyway, I want to use featured images in a different way than the theme does (I do NOT want them to just appear in the single post page, however I am using them elsewhere and only want them in the post if I put them there on purpose).

However, the code that puts that thumbnail in the post is in framework/post-formats.php, which I cannot override with the child theme I’m using. I did try.

I just edited post-formats, and will re-edit if the theme updates, so it’s not a huge deal (I’ll just store the edited files in the child theme as reminders). I like the theme quite a lot, I just wanted to point this out because it seems like post formatting is a pretty basic thing to want to modify in a child theme. I’m also going to be wanting to modify meta information, and all sorts of small details, which hopefully can be done in templates and not more framework edits :/

Hey there,

Thanks for letting me know about this. You should be able to modify this function in a child theme so I’ll look into what’s going wrong and get it fixed for the next update. :)

Thanks

I may have been doing it wrong though? I just made a copy of the file and put it in the same place in the child theme, as it is in the parent.

That should be it. I’ll take a look into it and see if something is wrong in the code.

Thanks

Version 1.1.4 of your theme seems to interfere with Crayon Syntax Highlighter for WordPress. jQuery Problem? Worked before the update so I guess the problem is mainly on the theme side.

Hey there,

Could you submit a support request via: http://herothemes.com with your WordPress details so I can take a look at this issue for you?

Thanks

Hi Does this theme support sub-category in the Homepage? how would it look like?

Hey there,

Checkout the demo homepage, near the bottom under “Using KnowHow” you will see the subcategories.

Thanks

How can we, or can we, change the order of categories on the homepage?

Hey there,

You can modify the homepage template to change the order of the categories (Modifying the arguments for get_categories()) but the easiest way I’ve seen customers setup a custom order is to add the numbers at the start of the category name like this:

01 – Category ThemeForest, 02 – Category Graphic River etc

Thanks

Hi,

Pre sales question. I’m looking at this theme and the other theme ‘supportdesk’, but this one seems to have a more simple homepage. My question is: 1. without modifying the template, is there an easy way to remove the right column (with poplar articles, categories..) from the home page ? so it would be full with… 2. can i link directly to an article? Thanks

Hey there,

You can modify the sidebar position on the homepage to left/right or off in the theme options.

What do you mean link directly to an article?

Thanks

I sent a support request on your website regarding ordering of categories in sidebar, i have been waiting for a response for a while, can you please check and respond.

You should have a reply now. Thanks

Do you have a summary of changes between versions?

I just went from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 had a quick look then swiftly went back again because it looked very different and I clearly need to do a lot of rework on my child theme for the transition. Without knowing the benefit I am inclined to stick with 1.1.2.

That would probably be best. Out of interest for your child theme are you copy and pasting all the template files over or only those you change?

Thanks

Just these: 28/07/2013 19:24 4,074 header.php 23/07/2013 12:52 3,739 single.php 28/07/2013 19:16 2,311 style.css 28/07/2013 19:22 993 template-dwhome.php

OK, so only the ones you change. Just wanted to see how customers set up their child themes. Thanks :)

Hi

Could you please write in the Update Log what the latest updates are?

Thanks

Thanks, could you then let us know which files have been updated this time – as you mentioned it was only a few bugs? Otherwise I’ll have to upload the whole theme and do a “search and compare” between your latest version and my Child Theme files. It takes ages and I might even overlook the essential. Thanks

In this update the files updated were:

style.css
/framework/post-formats.php
/framework/styles.php

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks a lot! That was very helpful :-)

Hello, One question please : is the FAQ items can be categorized and tagged? By example, a FAQ page for category A, another for category B. Thanks.

Hey there,

It’s not possible with this theme. All FAQs are shown on 1 page.

Thanks

Hello. I may have missed something but it is not clear to me what makes this theme a wiki theme. Is there a description somewhere that lays this out? You know, version control, collaborative content, cross referencing, table of contents and so on.

I’ve been reading through the comments and haven’t found that yet.

Thanks

Hey there,

The wiki aspect is more the general style of the theme. Several different plugins can be used for collaborative editing and there are a few customers using this theme as a wiki using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-wiki-plugin/

Thanks

Hey Chris I didn’t spot any shortcodes to integrate video. Do shortcodes for video exists and it’s not featured on the live site, or this is a feature that may get added later? Thanks btw – love the theme.

Hey there,

The theme currently supports video post formats if you enable this plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/media-element-html5-video-and-audio-player/

WordPress 3.6 will support this plugin in core, so you won’t need it and the theme is already setup ready for it.

So in short, if you’re running 3.5 or under you need the above plugin (the theme will give you a little message) or otherwise if you’re running 3.6 you’re already set.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks

Thank you for your speedy reply! I have to start poking around the latest version of WP and get up to mark on some sweet new features Cheers

No problem, let me know if you have any other questions :)

When I try to login to: http://herothemes.com/support/ I get an ‘error’ message. (i.e. blank page with one line – ‘error’)

I tried Safari and Firefox on a Mac + IE on Windows.

OK, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need anything.

Thanks

Hi – I sent a query yesterday via: http://herothemes.com/get-support/ but haven;t heard back. I’ll try the form again right now.

Hey David,

Got your latest request, not sure what happened to the other one as all requests have been coming in fine. I’ll get back to you ASAP :)

Thanks

hi, I’m thinking of buying this theme, but you can have a few questions?

1)insurancelibrary.com site using your theme but google indexes all 4 or 5 page? 2)Can we show the list of all articles category pages? 3)Can we use verdana font? 4)Seo performance of the theme?

I’d appreciate you answer. Thanks

Hey there,

1. It’s not my site so I can’t be sure of their setup. There’s nothing in the theme preventing content being indexed.

2. Not sure what you mean. The index lists all the article categories (which can be filtered to remove categories you don’t want to show) and clicking on each category shows articles listed under that category.

3. Sure, it’s an easy edit to change the font.

4. There’s no reason the theme shouldn’t perform well in terms of SEO. If there’s anything that can be improved within the theme I’m always all ears.

Thanks

Is it possible to include advertisements with this theme?

Hey there,

It’s possible sure, just depends on what and how you want to display them.

Thanks

Actually, I think I could use it as a wiki even if users can’t edit through the front-end. I’m thinking I would use the adminimize plugin to create a scaled-down version of the admin for registered users. When they want to edit posts, they can login and manage them through the WP admin. It’s not ideal (it would be nice if they could do it from the front-end) but it could work. Have you had anyone use the theme in this way?

There are a few plugins on WordPress.org that allow front end editing all of varying features and implementation. I’ve noticed a few customers using them with success. It depends on your needs. Search Google for “WordPress Front End Posting” and you’ll bring up a few options to play with.

Hope this helps :)

I think I know the answer to this but does this theme allow logged-in users to edit articles through the front-end without entering the actual wordpress admin area?

Thanks…

This functionality isn’t built into the theme. Although there are plugins that allow this that some customers have been using with success.

Thanks

Is this wiki / knowledge base also available just as plugin? So without the theme around it? I want to integrate it in my own (custom) theme..

Hey there,

It’s not, but it’s something I’m actively looking into :)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for the reply. That’s a pity, I need it quite fast :) Thanks though

Hi I’m interested in using this theme but wanted to confirm that the normal Wordpress Admin interface (i.e. for editing CSS, adding Posts, etc) is available. Thanks in advance

Hey there,

The WordPress admin interface is unchanged in this theme. Although you can’t have a separate news/blog section as posts are used for the Knowledge Base articles.

Thanks
